Arnold Schwarzenegger Breaks Down His Most Iconic Characters | GQ - Развлечения
Notice how Schwarzenegger talks so little about himself and praises all of his colleagues? A class act.
haha
No wonder his maid liked him so much
That original poster can't be serious.
@@tontoepstein6860 All due respect, I am serious. Obviously, this video is just a snapshot into his career, and a few hours in his actual life given to GQ, but I really respect how he regularly lavishes praise on his coworkers, not just the actors, but how he can just whip out the names of crew members, writers, directors, special effects artists, everybody who made him the star he is today. How is that not presented in this video?
That's because he knows he got lucky to have an acting career
The man has lived a dozen lifetimes in his 70 years.
Agreed
Jeff Wilson moves to a new country, becomes famous for working out, marries a famous American, becomes and action star, and held public office.

There will never be an actor more iconic than arnold. He could play a killer robot, a commando, danny devitos twin, the first pregnant man, he can do comedy, he can do action, he ca do serious. An on top of that, there isn’t a more instantly recognizable face and voice than his.
I never saw junior 2
The fact that he's done all that, been the face of the golden age of bodybuilding, and a fairly positive governor of one of the most influential states in the USA, he's basically solidified himself as an icon. A flawed icon, but I think his flaws make him more approachable, more genuine.
He was also the real governor of California.
Agree 💯
Marilyn Monroe could rival him in being that iconic
I love that despite how famous he is and how many people he met, he can still name drop the guys he worked with 40+ years ago.
Well, I'm also sure he gets a "what to expect" before the show lol
name dropping is for some Mr nobody talking about his famous friends I don't think it applies here

He's always been very happy to talk about himself
Most people are. Why shouldn't he be
I have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that someone actually told Arnold that he would never be a leading man. It's pretty inspiring to know that against all odds he managed to prove them wrong by becoming one of, if not THE biggest action star of all time.
Not to mention he then went on to become a governor in a foreign state, I dont care what his politics are or if he boned his maid, this guy is a prime example of what a human can do
@@themug406 Haha this cracked me up but can't agree more. Being a non-American I never truly understood the widely popularized term "American Dream" until I witnessed Arnold's story. He's the true embodiment of a man who is 100% responsible for his own success.

He doesn't have to go. He should stick to smaller scaled films, instead of Blockbusters. Eastwood showed how it is done, 30 years ago. But Arnold doesn't follow. Hope to see him in more down to earth movies.

He did terrific with his costars in that sequel.
100% agree. His portrayal of the stoic killer robot is absolutely iconic. "Your clothes, give them to me"
That was James Cameron's golden age of film making. He is an undisputed genius, but he made the best movies between 80s and 2000s.
It's my favourite movie of all time.
The way Arnie talks about his co stars an directors it’s like he is not a big star. He is so respectful. Legend
He also credits the directors all the time. He is very confident, and knows he has nothing to prove anymore. Indeed a legend.
I know a guard who worked security as his bodyguard for a few months.
By all accounts, he really is a genuine stand up guy. He regrets sleeping with his maid greatly but, he never sexually assaulted anyone, he's never been a violent person. He really is a genuine lovely guy who made a mistake. He's one of the most down to earth celebrities around.

What a great career. I wish he had talked about the Exendables and working with all those other action movie heroes. Particularlly Stallone.
What a great interview. Arnold is such a great man. Thank you
Arnold is such a diamond, he is so unique and there will never be anybody else like him.
Ty Thompson don’t say never, we always need someone like Arnold around but they are hard to come by 👊🏼
Sam Garlick so true, I just am goin to miss him when he’s gone. 👊🏻
Yeah please never someone again who destroys His own Charackter in Terminator and betrays His wide lol how slimy you all are by famous people XD
I mean, I'm sure a diamond wouldn't cheat on his wife and get the maid pregnant, but yeah.
@@bjornmeyer1193 Blame the scriptwriters, not Arnold. Even in the worst movies he still comes out as the most enjoyable thing about them.
I love how he has a healthy self esteem for his own talents and achievements, while still being very down to earth.
Balanced self image. Not too proud not too humble
Same with Keanu Reeves
He's gone on record as saying I'm not modest because I'm a winner and winners aren't modest. He's a leo lol.
Down to Mars maybe. I think you have the wrong bio.
Haha this guy is everything but not down to earth
I laughed out loud with pure joy when he said “the line”. Man I love that.
Will never know what someone is like without getting to know them, but he always comes across so well, love listening to his interviews.
Lmao, the shade he throws on the Total Recall reboot was hilarious.
It will never be as good as the 1990 version. Never.
@You Toobe That was a pretty rude response. All the guy did was give their opinion on the movie.
I liked the reboot
reymondiscool ayyy lightning!
haha the cause the reboot was garbage, what made them think it was gonna be good, original total recall people still talk about it today, who talks about the reboot? no one
the whole, "I'll be back / I will be back" thing is great, because I completely agree with Arnold here, but it's ridiculous how iconic the line is, and couldn't be anything else. definitely cemented in cinema history
A lot of movie actors uses that very same line, even mentioned the terminator a lot.
Arnold really REALLY likes to get into character. Conan is perhaps the best example of this where he was more or less an uncredited director for that particular film with how involved he was and how he wanted to portray the character.
Terminator is no exception so naturally, he brought a “machine” like performance including the lines and mannerisms.
I mean, while we all love "I'll be back" line, we wouldn't even know it could've been differen,t should they go with "I will" version in a script. Then we'd think it couldn't be anything else than "I will".
I taught my parrot to say "Ill be back, " and "Hasta la vista, baby."
Honestly, I think Arnolds way is better because it sounds more robotic just like he said. Iconic nevertheless
Terminator 2 is still my favourite movie of all time
I love how he very lovingly over explains EVERYTHING. Makes me feel like he's my favorite uncle. 🥰
I know and I don’t even have that many uncles😁
Last Action Hero never gets any love, but to me it was one of the most creative premises to an action film, and the entertainment was of the charts. I wish more people recognized it’s brilliance.
That was my childhood right there
Loved the movie, so much self-irony in it. Funny and full of action. So sad it flopped, don´t know why.
Frank Wendel That’s because it was released alongside Jurassic Park.
V I R G I N Jurassic Park? Never heard of it...
L Proof Yeah, I know right.
I never heard of it too.
There's just something about the way he says "It's not a tumor"
That makes it so iconic
It's not a tuna
TUMAAA
ITS NAWT A TÜMAH
Yeah he did recently mention that the way he said it in his accent made the kids laugh
it's not a toomah!
The amount that Arnold shaped my movie tastes growing up is unbelievable. He's the bar by which I always measured action movies, even now. I love him, he's a treasure. Kindergarten Cop was the first that I remember growing up but then I immediately had to watch Terminator, Predator, True Lies (many things that were NOT age appropriate for me) because I needed more. When Expendables came out, I needed to be in theatres to see him, Bruce and Sly on screen together exchanging quips! Perfection
23:46: I remember Dino De Laurentiis is not only the owner of Total Recall, but he was also the producer of the first King Kong remake (the original released in 1933), released in 1976, and also starring Jeff Bridges. Plus, it was the debuting role of Jessica Lange.
as a 90s kid, arnold is the best action movie star hands down.
As a 2002 kid, he still is the best action movie star
He still is, today's action movie stars are posers.
What about action stars of Bollywood?
Growing up in the 80's and 90's, it was basically Arnold, Stallone and Van Damme... with a bit of Steven Segal and Bruce Willis.
As a 2004 kid, he’s still the best
I'm surprised Commando wasn't discussed. That was a big movie it's one of my favorite Arnold movies
Agreed! Also has one of Arnold’s best lines...”Let off some steam, Bennet” 😂👍🏻
Right, Wrong!
@@bretthansen8166 hes dead tired
Same with Predator.
Some great ones in The Running Man
T2...I loved that movie. Watched it at the theater 6 times. It was a great movie!
Arnie you are a legend mate, I can't say I love every one of your movies but you're just a top bloke.
"I never killed anyone in Terminator 2, just broke their backs"
or whatever :D
"Still alive!" (pops up behind a sand dune)
I'd rather be dead than get my knee caps blown off at the age of 60.
If Jackie Chan won a lifetime achievement Oscar, hopefully Arnold will too.
Who even cares about the Oscars anymore at this point, total hacks.
Ye he was best action movie actor of our lives
Baz The Storyteller it’s a travesty
Well, Arnold and Jet Li are buddies in "The Expendables" saga
Love love love Arnie. Such a lifestory, such a persistence, such a character. True icon and inspirational guru. Terminator and Predator are my favorite movies of all times and sure many better movies out there since then but anyways..
Nobody makes terminator famous other than Arnold.
