I'd submit that Po (Kung Fu Panda) is also one of his most iconic roles. He absolutely MADE that character!
Can’t believe it wasn’t there
I think it's because its an animated movie
Oh he definitely is iconic. But it's different when you can't actually see the guy.
YES! I was soooo disappointed that he wasn't mentioned!
This list is garbage without Kung Fu Panda. I mean, he made THREE panda movies plus shorts. There was never another actor who could play the Dragon Warrior.
It's so strange seeing Jack Black just speak calmly for 40 minutes straight lol.
Not exactly calm the whole time, he is very dramatic and a little egotistical but very talented so he pulls it off.
You made me realise that this vid is 40 minutes.... however I will still be watching every second

I “met” Jack in Charlotte while he was filming Shallow Hal. I was a fan of The D at this point but he was still little known. I went to a hornets game on a weeknight. Quarter ends and I go to get a beer. I’m standing in the long line (yes NBA had long lines back then, and I turn around and he’s standing there. I did a double take and caught his eyes. He recognized that I recognized him. He put his arms up in a TRex pose, hissed at me then glided off to another line.
I would have just about died. He put on a BESPOKE PERFORMANCE, *JUST* for you. Amazing actor, sweetheart guy!
NBA don't have long lines anymore?
Just curious, I'm an NHL guy and know nothing about NBA.
Jack and Kate are still one of the best on-screen couples there is. What an incredible romance put to film.
He had so much charisma! You believed at the end that they worked together as a couple.
Jack Black is the anti-cringe. He can make anything sound exciting and cool.
literally... imagine anyone else doing what he does.. you'd cringe so hard, but he's just so lovable and real... what a blessed human

It's really moving to me that Jack uses the present tense when he speaks about Robin Williams and Jumanji. It's a small thing but it feels large in the sense that it's like he's keeping Robin at the table with us, right now, and always. Classy and heart felt.
So true ❤
I love how complimentary Jack Black is. He describes everyone he ever worked with as incredible. This is the kind of attitude that makes him so magnetic, and we need more of it in the world.
Jack Black isn't a national treasure, he's an International treasure.
No. Jack Black is a *universal* treasure.
He was before he got Trump Derangement Syndrome. Now he's full of hate.

To any rock/metal fan, The Pick of Destiny truly is an iconic movie. The story and the music is very enjoyable, and it is very relatable for so many people...

Oh for sure! There was once a time long ago when I literally watched it every single day 🤣 it never got old, it’s still not old lol
It’s crazy the legacy that Jack Black is leaving. My mom loved him in High Fidelity and Shallow Hal, High Fidelity is still her favorite movie ever. I’m obsessed with School of Rock and Tenacious D, I’ve seen The D live 4 times. My daughter watched the Mario movie and has been singing Peaches and talking about Bowser for a month nonstop, even while I was watching this she recognized his voice and said “is that bowser??” He truly has something for everyone and I’m so grateful for him.

Nacho Libre as a film has set the tone for my way of living. Each and every scene has transformed my perception of what truly matters in life. To epitomize the significance Nacho Libre has had in my life is unprecedented. I love this film. yes

Same thing Mike Myers did on his episode in this series. He said he was spoiled early on in some of his movies by working with great choreographers and prop makers. School of Rock is the most inclusive movie. It perfectly shows how it's ok to be different, no matter how old you are, and how important this is to make the world a better place. This is a untemporal masterpiece.
I love how he talked about Robin Williams in the present, not he “was” but he “is”.
I caught that, too. I suspect that...while Jack Black's career hasn't been nearly as prolific as Robin Williams...the life in his characters will, for years after he's gone, inspire that same sense.
@@OmniphonProductions I think one day Jack Black will be a Robin Williams. You cant compare anyone to Robin but Jack has that same energy
@@daggersquadops1148 I only worry that, because many of his iconic characters have a similar energy, people will see...for instance...High Fidelity, Orange County, and School of Rock, and incorrectly conclude that he's a bit of a one-trick pony (even as impressive as he is in those roles). Of course, if they're fortunate enough to see him in Bernie or even that _single_ episode of X-Files he did (with Giovanni Ribisi), it begins to become clear that...much like Robin Williams..there's much more to him than just varying degrees of spasmodic intensity. I mean, one doesn't rack up 154 acting credits by simply playing oneself...unless one is Tommy Lee Jones, Sam Elliott, or one of _those_ iconic personalities.

I love this man! The school of rock and nacho libre, and kung fu panda are some of my favorites! I really hope he does more voiceover films because he has such a dynamic voice. He’s so enthusiastic, and so humble. A National treasure, protect him at all costs!
I absolutely love Jack Black. He seems so down to earth and would be a blast to hang out with. Orange County is just hysterical, he made that movie!
He literally cant talk without doing character voices.
He's reached a state where he's making his own character like a persona in a movie or video game, that's my theory. It explains why he is almost like a living meme, like his own personality is just another role.
The Jimmy Page voice was funny
I can only imagine a Panda this entire interview
@@JoyfulUniter Totally. Even if you look back to his earlier years of being famous, he had a tendency to break into voices but it was usually always the same one, like the "shedding some tasty riffs" excited 80s metal fan parody. But yeah now its totally taken over.
Can we agree that jack black is a legend
Absolutely!
A Brutal Legend.
yes
I’ve agreed ever since his movie came out in 2006.
Yes!
this man was such a pivotal part of my childhood. seeing him just immediately warms my heart
12:00 so true though. School of Rock really is an incredible movie. Every part of it is done perfectly
Hearing him talk about School of Rock is absolutely magical. Such a perfect, wonderful movie and all the love that was poured into it is amazing to see
I love that he didn’t discourage any kid he let them pick their roles and let them shine ✨
I really wish he had spoken about working with the kids. His connection with them was amazing. That's the most special part of the movie for me.
R.i.P to the kid who played the drums got runned over by a car
Jesus loves y’all! God bless y’all! “Jesus is the way, and the truth, and the life.” John 14:6.’””
@@nevermindmyname813 I really wish we got to know more about his dynamic with Miranda Cosgrove. Eh, we can't win em' all.
That Tropic Thunder story is the best thing I've ever heard.
Ross Keniston I loved it
31:30 his re-enactment of the jeep ride is cracking me up
Plot twist, he got the water buffalo pregnant
I long to meet
Jack “Water Buffalo” Black.
And Jack Black 😂
Hearing Jack talk about School of Rock the way he does really makes me appreciate how much I loved that movie when I first saw it as a kid
His Tropic Thunder Water Buffalo story had me in stitches! He's got an effortlessly funny charm to him. It's not overbearing, it's natural and so endearing.
Any time I say “don’t judge me” I say, “DON’T JUDGE MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!”
he reverse zuesed the buffalo
He's got to make it funny, sadly, since that's the only way we'll be able to experience that moment 😢
Thr Pick Of Destiny is a *_criminally_* underrated movie.
I was a teenage fan of Tenacious D but we all pirated it that's why no one went 🤣 limewire boiiiii
FACTS
top 3 comedy movie for me no doubt
It's simply the most hilarious movie I've seen in my entire life.
Yea, watched this movie when I was like 7 years old on a burned dvd my dad made. I watched that movie on a daily basis. To this day, I love it. When dio says, "now go and ROCKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!" and the rock off always give me the chills lol
School of Rock will always be in my top movie list, I watched it during a very formative time of my life and now as an adult I can go back and watch it anytime and enjoy every second.
I still listen to tenacious D when I workout.
Jack is an absolute treasure, we don’t deserve this man
school of rock was made for jack black and the other way around
