American soprano Rachel Willis-Sørensen is known for her diverse repertoire ranging from Mozart to Wagner. A regular guest at the leading opera houses around the world, Le Monde enthused, “…the American soprano has without a doubt one of the most impressive voices in the opera world. The timbre, of marmoreal beauty, is striking, the projection telluric…”

WOW!! The real thing through and through! Opera has a chance of survival with singers like this gracing the stage. Brava x100!!
Thank you!
The tongue rolling renders the homeland even more majestic and mysterious. Even the coughs at the beginning sound musical and intentional.😊
she must be one of a small handful of truly great art music singers. this is giving me everything!!!!
A fabulous soprano, with the total skills set to both be in on the joke, and let us in on it as well! 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Her magnificent singing along with her hand gestures and moves is so exciting and amazing😍😍😍
Wow! This performance left me speechless. Brava!!! 🍾🍾🍾
As someone who has sung the role more than 400 times…… well done! Congratulations.

This was a spectacular performance
She’s my Soprano pin up. I LOVE HER!!!!!
What a remarkable voice and performance!
I saw this Fledermaus gala performance in February, and believe it or not, it really sparked my interest in operetta and the whole world of opera. And I'm even planning on making Die Fledermaus a part of my new year's eve rituals. I especially liked the fresh, playful, light-hearted, tongue-in-cheek approach of Rachel Willis-Sorensen (which was shared by her famous on-stage partner Jonas Kaufmann). It's just great fun to watch Rachel and this ensemble, and that's what Die Fledermaus should be about. Over the last weeks I've seen and listened to maybe two dozens of Fledermaus versions from 1949 to 2019, and I must say that Rachel must be one of the most powerful sopranos ever to sing the role of Rosalinde. Also her pronunciation is flawless, I couldn't tell whether she was a native speaker of German or not (I'm German). When she wants to scratch out Eisenstein's eyes, it IS scary! To me she ranks certainly in the top ten, maybe even top five of all sopranos I've heard as Rosalinde.
My top choices would be...
Rosalinde: 1. Hilde Güden (Krauss 1950 & Karajan 1960), 2. Elisabeth Schwarzkopf (Karajan 1955)
Adele: Rita Streich, Wilma Lipp, Renate Holm and Lucia Popp are all phantastic
Eisenstein: Depends whether you prefer tenor (Nicolai Gedda) or baritone (Wächter and Prey)
Alfred: Anton Dermota (Krauss 1950)
This makes me so happy!!!
Thank you! Outstanding!
Grade A acting and stage presence. Lovely singing!
Thank you!
Думаю,что сейчас Вы лучшая Розалинда в мире!!! Bravo!!!♥️👏💐
Can’t wait for the stabat mater diva!!! I’m so excited for it!! 😭😭😭😭👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 yassss slay Queen!!!
As Joan Sutherland once said, “the Czardas is as difficult as any bel canto aria. One cannot sing it only with charm. The technique is the only thing that will get one through it.” This lovely soprano has both charm and technique!
That comment is indicative of not only a great singer, but one who appreciates and values other singers with honest appraisals.
Bravissima rachel!!! ♥

Bravooo!
stupenda, fantastic artist
I want to have as much fun singing this as you do :) I LOVE YOU
Yes! Love that you are uploading again! Toi toi toi! I still don’t know what that means but I think it’s a good thing :)
Toi toi toi is a phrase in performance where you’d say it to one another before going on stage... almost wishing each other good luck ( singer or instrumentalist) most important in this is to NEVER and I repeat NEVER reply with a thank you. That’s seen as bad luck. Rather say toi toi toi back to whoever says it
@@janicevanrooy Ah! Good to know :)
Dang she just kills it! Great job!
Браво, Райчел!!!♥️ ♥️ ♥️

Sie klingt ja wie ein Mezzosopran in der Tiefe 🤯
Now There is a Csárdás, superbly sung and acted. Brava!
What is this ????
VUNDERBAR RACHEL DAS IST MEISTERSTUCK
Couldn't even guess what language she is singing...
You won’t hear this sung much better. Excellent. My only small criticism: probably would have been more interesting to remove the mask halfway through. So much of the connection with the audience is through the face and eyes. Leaving the mask on for the whole performance didn’t really lift the performance, but detracted from it instead

Renee Fleming part II...?
A little bigger though. And there is the same problem in the middle but who cares?

No but I try to avoid hysterical women like you.
Waste of energy.
