Good marooning M&D! I agree, the big hook for the Pro is definitely the screen. Two other things that separate it from the Air that make it a worthy consideration, The Magic Keyboard for the Pro has function keys and the one for the Air is the old one that doesn’t. Thank you for the kind words! Yeah, there's more differences like that M4 vs M2 chip, but they are all really fast and responsive. That display is something though. That magic keyboard is really something needed when it comes to using Final Cut Pro for the iPad, and the new keyboard is that little extra you get when you get the Pro version. Appreciate the info. For me, Touch ID is the deal breaker. It’s been tolerable with the front button, but the reach around is a no go. The M4 will be my first oled screen and I do enjoy outdoor viewing. 2nd gen 12.9 pro is crashing now. It was overkill at the time but 8 years later it’s going the way HAL 9000. 🌼 Four speakers make a big difference as well.
When I travel and take the Pro to the gym/treadmill, I always use headphones. It's great on a treadmill with the screen size. But yeah, at home using the speakers, they are nice and loud. It all adds to the immersion of the content you are viewing. To think about it, there's no other iPad with the face ID. I'm so used to it on the iPhone, Have with your new gadget!
