The Rage Cut on Contact 2-Blade NC Broadhead is an expandable, rear-deploy broadhead featuring a razor tip that causes the head to start cutting as soon as it makes contact with the target. These heads feature Rage's No-Collar blade-retention system, which holds the blades in place in flight, but allows them to deploy on contact.

I used the rage no collar cut on contact for crossbows last season, took a nice buck with it. However, they are a 1 and done type broadhead. I also noticed 1 of the blade actually closed about halfway through the deer. Wound up with only 1 blade cutting the heart and lungs. Literally only saw 1 blade cut in both.

Can you recommend a good thumb release for a semi beginner under $100? I want to try one but not enough to spend $250. I don't want to buy junk because it may give me the wrong impression of using a thumb release.

I use the trophy ridge precise thumb release. Works very well, 360° head so practically no torque as well.

@royleerobinson5 that is true. I've had to replace the d loop 3 times already since buying my new adapt plus on February 9th. Tbh I think it has something to do with the inside lip where it clamps to the d loop. At least on mine, it has slight ridges that appears to cut into the d loop material. I've considered sanding it down to smooth it out,but don't want to screw anything up because I genuinely like the release

Truball rave and you won't be disappointed. You can get them new for around 120 and has all the features of a high end release.
