I have owned a vista 35 and a peak 38. They are definitely smooth drawing bows. Only negative thing I could say is that their risers could use some updating. They look like risers from 10+ years ago without any cages, cut-outs, etc. Risers could stand to be straighter as well, the reflex measurements are still pretty high on their longer ata bows. Won't find a better company to work with though, Jim and Tracy are as nice as they come.
I messed with cams for the first time ever about 2 month's ago. The shims are a pain in the butt! Super excited to shoot and play around with the new Athens bows
Having just had to place a .024" shim under one of the lower limbs of my new bow, I really like the Accu-tune feature on the Athens. (it was either shim the limb - toward reducing horizontal nock travel - or place the bow on the burn pile!)
Yeah I'm 27.5 and hate even on the vista 35 that I'm in-between mods I changed mods and the shorter bottom of the cam sucked with letoff compared to being at the longer top of cam.
I’m 27.5, they would of had my money lol. I used to shoot Hoyt at 28 but I don’t want to gamble on buying a bow I don’t know it can fit. Maybe they think a 35 ata would fit us but that’s really the only mistake I see Athens did this year.
@Angel.Custodio Given that they don't focus on "proper target", or let's call it outdoor target, I would agree that the assumption is that the 35ata is sufficient. I can someone agree because they have big cams but options are nice and they missed one. I wonder if they could make a short draw module??
I love that you are reviewing Athens, I’m really looking into them this year. As a NY’er, and that accutune, that’s clutch. Being lefty I have to rely on reviews. It seems like there isn’t a dump like the Bowtech that I have. Ideally I would love to get a vail and an Axxis 31 for hunting, but I’m a 27.5-28 inch draw and I don’t know if the Vail would be good, so I’m wondering if I should get a Axxis 35 and have it do double duty. The tuning makes life a lot easier. So far leaning to the 33-35. But I look forward to the reviews.
Why not? Back when I retired, I bought a new flagship bow as a retirement present to myself. Sure enough, nobody else was going to spring $1500 for one all kitted out.
Are they going to make a short draw mod for the Vail

I’ve been waiting for anyone other than “bow hunter planet “to review this bow! I firmly believe this bow has the qualities to be bow of the year.
Should be called cross gun hunter planet. Or I’m going to talk out of my ass hunter planet.
I wish someone local to me would carry Athens. I’d love to try them out

Wow I shoot Elite bows but this looks even more configurable… Too bad none of the shops around me carry Athens so I could test it out.
I really need to find a place to try one. I wish they would go to anodized cams vs the paint. That was a turn off for me.
The cams are fully anodized.
@@averagejackarchery when did they change that?
@@averagejackarchery my 01 Vista 35 had painted cams and mods in black. They said it was extremely tough paint.
That’s a great looking bow.
I’m looking forward to your tuning video on that. Curious about how that cam adjustment works
38 ata and 28inch starting draw length was very foolish in my opinion, it really should have started at 27inches😐

I been wanting to see the axxis in autumn blaze camo so bad.
Think I’m buyin one
Kind of hard to try one out when there only 2 dealers in the whole state.
Is the draw length adjustable on the vail 38?
Did you watch the video?
Great review! Solid bow. Curious, What bow stand are you using?
That is the Elevation Raptor kickstand.
Can’t wait for the follow ups
Nice review, thank you!!😊
Unfortunately they are done. WTH!! They even closed their email.
Can these bows be purchased on line
It's much cheaper to order through a dealer to be shipped to your home. Can be a stock bow or custom ordered!
No good for me.
Im 6ft 3, and due to previous shoulder injuries I have a super short 27.5 inch draw length.
Also. No Athens dealers in the UK.
Very nice bow .... does it look kinda Mathews-ish ? Looks great
Looks nothing like a Mathews! Lol. Very different geometries and cam designs.
I shouldn’t watch this I might need a Christmas present for myself

Maybe next year I just got a great deal on a TRX40 from a friend, I’ve been checking out the Athens line for awhile. @@maynardcarmer3148
