  • Welcome to my channel and studio vlog, where I document and share my journey as an artist and the steps I'm taking towards my dream life and art practice. In this video, I'll be taking you behind the scenes of my creative process, showing you my underdrawing technique, and giving you a glimpse of a recent juried art exhibit I was in. But more than that, I want to share with you the ups and downs of pursuing a life that you love and the importance of taking small steps towards it every day.
As an artist, I've always had a passion for creating and expressing myself through my art. But it wasn't until recently that I decided to take the leap and pursue my dream of life as an artist. It's been a journey full of challenges and doubts, but also one of growth and self-discovery.
But more than that, I want to share with you the mindset and habits that have helped me take set the right foundation for my life and art. It's not always easy, and there are days when I feel discouraged or overwhelmed. But I've learned that taking small steps and making the most out of each moment, even if they seem insignificant, can make a big difference in the long run.
I hope this video inspires you to pursue your own dreams, whatever they may be.

The beginning of every new painting feels like you can see a clean and clear grid with which you measure and sketch out your lines, the grid completely invisible to the viewer and yet slowly the whole painting appears on the canvas. It is amazing as always, love the BGM and voice-over.😁😁

It is a pretty awesome process, so many hidden layers in the final piece too. And thank you, I always enjoy the feedback! 🌼😁

Congratulations on your award! I admire your patience and ability to draw with straight lines. As a child I used to love Spider-man but realized early on that I wouldn't want to illustrate a Spider-man comic book because of all of those straight lines I'd have to draw while drawing buildings and city scapes.

Thank you Kent! It's funny how we're so naturally inclined to draw some things and not others! I learned hand drafting in college and that's primarily what got me into it. Though I can definitely recall drawing interior spaces and loving perspective lines already as a kid!

I love your use of prisma markers. I have also used prisma markers in my paintings in the past. I haven't done any paintings in a while, as I mainly stick to colored pencils as my medium these days, but I absolutely love that someone else has done this too. I thought I was one of the only ones and I felt a little wrong doing that in the past. 🤣 Congrats on the award in the juried exhibition too!! That always feels really great when that happens and we are acknowledged for our work. Great job! 💕

I love using markers for underdrawings, even for light sketching underneath colored pencil pieces. There's definitely no wrong way to use a medium if it works for you :) And thank you! It was a great experience.

Are you painting in acrylic or oils? Also at 9:11 are you using a prismacolor marker to do underdrawing? Is it alcohol based? 😊 I am new to your channel you are so inspiring! Fromafellow artist that is shy.

Princeton brushes are my favorite, specifically the velvetouch ones. And mostly flats unless I'm doing details.
