Quote from the book, The Artists Way: “ When it comes to making art… think delight, think fun. Do not think duty. Do not do what you “should” do. Do what intrigues you. Explore what interests you. Think mystery. Think mastery.” Love your channel, you are doing great. I also rearrange furniture over and over again.
Great work, keep at it, the painting is relatable as everything I love about art is light impact, and well you have a lot. I wish I had your set up, be proud and stay refreshed, great video :)
Only during pandemic I’ve found out that I could paint (not professionally 😂). After a year when pandemic was over, my mood for art was fading away. Now I completely stopped painting. I tried painting last week but doesn’t seem to get that mood for painting and it doesn’t work even if tried to paint. After watching your video, I seem to be getting back to paint mood. You inspire me. Love your video and pls keep posting more. Thank you.
One sentence that stuck " believe in the direction that you are going", i love it, so important!🥰 Yes breakes are really important, people often don't realize how much energy the constant focus of painting takes, and add to that all the additional mind chatter that's going on upstairs hahaha.. when it's positive it adds to the fun.. when it's negative i'd like to be able to blow some sage smoke through my ears😂. It can be quite interesting sometimes to see what's goin on in the head. Loved the video thank you Maria!
It does take a lot of energy! That's so true about the voices in our head, I definitely need some sage smoke up there most days! 😂 So glad you enjoyed it. :)
I love the simplicity of your videos. The way you share your thought process is so relatable. It helps me to understand my own thought process and use some of the ideas that you share.
The experience you're gaining shines through - scheduling, in how you arrange your environment, and especially in your art process. All of it combines to find what works for you. I too found my creative life was stuck until I started investing time and money into it. The commitment helped it take on a life of its own. I'll be re-watching, Maria. Congratulations on the new computer and thanks for the insights!
For the artist, the idea of being present is not as atractive and appealing as it might seem Since doubt and desperation, prevails for the majority of the time he has at his disposal. You can avoid your work, and regret later. Or do it, and regret instantly. There’s this voice, which sometimes is trying to persuade us of duty. Even when we well-enough know, that we need time off. We can’t accept the fact, that we actually can have it for ourselves. You’re doing great work.
I struggled with this just a couple days ago even. Seems to be a big part of art, knowing that the energy to create can come and go despite us demanding it to be here when we expect.
This was such a great video and by coincidence resonated with some things I've been thinking about lately, so it was helpful and comforting to watch! :)

I love a good quote! I need to remind myself often to let go of "should's," even my own ones! And thank you :)
I'm always a bit surprised when the lighter colour goes in against the dark shadow (jeans) as to how much lighter the shadow appears! Genious! 😊

I'm so glad it has been inspiring to you. Even creating for a few minutes can be rewarding when it feels difficult :)

Also want to know which camera do you use for making videos of painting?
Yay! I'm happy that it's been inspiring!
I use a Canon G7X mark iii It's a great camera to start with.
I’ll write the comment tomorrow
