- here is a quick noodle in the key of A major that i did to test out how well my Canon 1100d worked in video mode. for those that care and want to know I'm playing a John Suhr S3 into the Axe FxII straight into protools 8 using the digital inputs on my eleven rack.

This is beautiful. I had an S4. O truly miss it. Those pickups and tones are simply incredible. Then adding the gain at the end. Showing all it a colors. 9 years ago which is when I had mine...
@PinkyWontWork Ha! a noodle is a musical term we use here down under when you are playing anything that comes to mind at the moment. The sound recording was done both with the camera as well as with as stereo track recorded in Protools. I blended the two tracks in Finalcut.

The mention of Andy Timmons makes sense when it comes to good tone and some awesome playing. I am impressed by the versatility of your playing and the array of tones-all great-that you coax out of your fingers and gear. Good tone never go out of style. I bow to this.
@CobHatecrewNor yeah it goes a long way when you have a great guitar and a good amp/ modeler and fractal and suhr have that covered extremely well
thanks for that, yes it is a bengal burst finish and the neck is an even c shape which is standard for all S3 models

I honestly forgot to close my mouth while watching this. FLAVORful doesn't seem to cut it.
@hawg427 yeah the 11Rack is great value for money especially with the PT10 upgrade. I just paid for an upgrade to PT10 and it cost me almost as much as another 11R. as far as this video goes I was using the AxeFXII. I still do use the 11R for certain tasks but i am finding the bulk of my GTR sound are coming from the axe fx

Lovely demo. I had an hour's noodle with a Suhr S3 HSS, Knaggs Severn HSS, PRS Swamp Ash, Tom Anderson Drop Top HSS and a Musicman Cutlass SSS at Sound Affects. The Suhr S3 came home with me, the Knaggs a close second, awesome neck but without the silent circuit. Tried a Fender Strat Professional this week too, ugh !! The S3 just sings

thanks for that. re your question on how hot the SSH+ it is hard to describe without a comparison. I find it hot enough while still having a vintage vibe about it. I used to have a PRS with a HFS in the bridge which i swapped with the SSH+. Compared to the HFS I found it still had enough balls without the compressed feel of a higher output pickup. I reckon you will love it.
@hawg427 I had PT8 before i got PT10 which is awesome gain trim control on its own is so worth the upgrade just saves heaps of time.
I have a 2012 S3. This video is a great demonstration of the expressive nature of this guitar. Great playing and an excellent capture of the tones... JH

I got mine last week. I was an Ultra user there is quiet a difference specially with the latest firmware. Congrats on your II.

this is just something i made up on the spot. there wasn't much thought that went into what i was playing it is just what came out at the time.
@johanaavit It's the Euro Blue, i just posted the pre-set on the axe fx pre-set exchange if you wanted it.

@MetalloDevasto No I didnt just straight into pro tools. the audio file i recorded in pro tools was mixed with the audio recorded on my camera in final cut

@immortalsoloist I cant really comment on the difference between axefxII and older models as the AxeII is my first fractal purchase. I waited almost 2years for this to come in. these units are as hard to find as hens teeth down here in the land of Oz
this one i was using the Euro Blue with the marshal1960a cab. i think this might have been on firmware version3

they are the standar ones that come with this guitar which are ML single coils and a SSH in the bridge

Yeah i will send the main output 1 to my QSC's and then loop out of the back of that direct to the desk with cab sims on and then use output 2 to my regular amp and cab.

this patch was actually a Euro Blue with the standard basket weave25 cab and was done on I think firmware V4. I dont use this sound anymore as i am finding the plexi in beta9 is working better for me. If you want to send me your email address and I will send you the patches

Nice video. So are you liking the 11R? I can't believe certain online dealers include a upgrade to PT 10 and an additional add on of effects, plus all the guitarists pre-sets. . Seems like a great deal.

Matt, I'd love to know which Axe FX II patch or amp/cab combo you're using. The sound is incredible. I've yet to find an Axe II patch that sounds that good. Sounds Carol-Ann ish... care to share with your Axe FX brethren?

Thanks for that. I use it through the eleven rack because it is permanently set up in a rack hooked up to protools. i find it easier.
