I did the BikeSafe course with North Wales Police in August 2001 when I was 58, which, at the time was a two-day weekend course held at the police helicopter station. Sunday was a ride out around North Wales for a few hours, one police rider to two riders. (still riding the same bike, Yamaha XJ900).
You just keep getting more and more professional. Its almost like a mainstream terrestrial TV channel now your showing repeats! Banter aside, I’m continually impressed how you keep up with so much regular content, so don’t really mind you having an occasional day off! Just read your under the knife again. Hope it goes well & get well soon!
People complaining about a repeat. I haven't seen these, so thanks. Its a shame the police get so much hate from people. Trying to do a difficult job, undermanned. Getting blamed for enforcing things they didn't implement.
I have greatly enjoyed by two tours of the UK on a rented GTL. The weather can be a challenge at times, but we generally enjoyed fairly good weather. And the scenery in Scotland, Wales and Ireland is fantastic in many areas.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. My experience of biker cops has been pretty positive. I parked next to a couple, one marked and one unmarked on a recent trip and chatted for a while. They seemed to be just your normal biker, interested in the bike and general chat. One thing I will say is while chatting a chap made a quip about them getting out and doing some ‘actual police work’. They were on a coffee break, which everyone is entitled to imo. Atb, Dave
Ive read the roadcraft manual the cops refferred to and agree its a hard read at times but its useful in gauging the road ahead etc and definitely sharpens up your skills, others should use it. Bruce at t pot one utilisies this to good effect on his commentary when hes saying what he sees on the road ahead and how he thinks of that etc. Great idea you have mate in going out with the traffic too
I can't imagine doing something like this with the police in the US. It's a great idea. I think it would be very useful for helping people develop better skills, but I can't see most people wanting to ride around with police like that.
Good luck with the shoulder surgery, it sucks when injury affects your ability to ride. I crashed my 1200GS off-road months ago and my ankle is still playing up.
Hi great video , i was just wondering what make /price are your wide braces , i was searching around for a pair for my leather richa trousers but the reviews for many of the different brands wasnt great. Looking forward to your next vid pt 2, Cheers in advance . 🏍💨
Are we short on content Andy, I hope nothing to serious has happened for you to have to be putting up reruns, must say though I did enjoy watching it the first time. 👍
Repeat....................repeat??????? I watched this series again about a month ago! I live about 5 min from the cop shop in llay. Please dont repeat the canada tour! 😱🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@TheMissendenFlyerhaha, you only needed to watch one episode, all the others were exactly the same for mile after mile, it looked more like a feat of human endurance than an enjoyable bike tour. Loving the isle of wight tour. 👍
It's impossible to ride next to a police vehicle without wondering if you're guilty of something😂😂Not just you at all. And in Paris, unless you ride a bike like a car, you are almost definitely breaking at least two laws at a time!
A bike bobby stopped me for a "chat" and you should have seen how quickly he legged it when I decided that the topic was gonna be their policy not to harass people riding around on illegal/stolen bikes.
Bike Safe sessions with the coppers are extremely good value and very interesting. Best use of a day.
Yes agreed - I did one with the met police - there is a video on my channel somewhere…

Not quite yet - next month, but it has caused me to play with my schedules a bit. Thanks for the kind words!
Thank you for humanising coppers. They need our support.
I agree - nice fellas doing an often difficult job
Love watching their road positioning, you can lean soo much from watching
Very true

Yes I thought it was better than a gap in my schedue.....thanks for the kind words!
Having not seen this I really appreciate the repeat, thanks. A great watch and very inspiring to try to close to their level of skill.
Glad you enjoyed it - I thought it was worth a re airing!
Wishing you a speedy Recovery Amigo!!
Cracking vid this Andy, I must have missed it first time around. What a privilege that was to tag along. I’d love that. 👌
Yes was a really interesting day that Dave…
Speedy recovery Andy hopefully all has gone well and the op is a success
It’s not quite yet - next month, but did require me replanning my upload schedule….

It's already up from a few years ago
😂just appeared on my RUclips feed! Thank you 🙏🏼

Agreed all round!
Good video and enjoy it again since the original screening.
Good stuff, well worth a repeat.
Thank you!
Interesting to watch Owain’s lines on the road. Great video!
Yes Police riders know their stuff don’t they - I have a lot of respect for their skills on a bike….
@@petergarlick8083 I was thinking the same. His road-positioning is absolutely excellent!

Reminds me how blessed I am to live in NWales. We even have a half decent football team now 😉
You are indeed - motorcycle heaven!

Thanks - and tell me about it!!!
Those roads used to be epic before the avg speed cameras were put in! These are the guys I try to avoid around here 😂

Nothing too serious…another operation on my shoulder mainly….
@@TheMissendenFlyer o dear, wishing you speedy recovery, maybe Mrs F could step in for a few videos 🤔
@@BumbleBee-qe8kc Mrs F has good presentation abilities, she could do it.
Police riders are pretty quick, ive been stopped a few times. Me just been a dick. All credit to them, they had a chat totally for my benefit.
Saw it first time, still interesting, I have a copy of Roadcraft, somewhere.😀
Nice one....
Like watching the BBC! Hope the shoulder is holding up.

I hope your shoulder recovers quickly, Andy. As an observation, some of the commenters do appear to be born whingers!
Good idea reposting some old videos. Im sure many have joined and not gone through the backlog.
That was my thinking - glad you appreciate the approach!

I remember this one!
Great insight on motorcycle policing, and as a welsh speaker your pronunciation wasn't too bad at all. Heard a lot worse. 🙂
Thank you for that!
The police RT's don"t have cruise control
I've seen this before 🤔
That's why I didn't watch it...
Yep it’s a repeat (as it says at the start) - thought it worth posting again for those that have subscribed since I originally posted these….

Turn over to BBC2 for a repeat. Or BBC3 if you're de yoof.
Better a repeat (for those that missed it first time) than nothing at all I thought!
