Gotta love it when the credits start rolling but there is still like a minute left on the time bar. Ya know there will be some more funny shit coming up.
Custum chip tuning that powerful? Kinda astonished here, mates. Thats some very professional work Lachlan/Ben are doing. Unlike most "tuning garages" out there
met you guys today while I was working, went home sanded my facelift bumper primed it did some boging fixed a coilover on my friends subaru and installed a strut brace on my mates r33 talk about insane motivators you guys rule and always will hope to see you guys back at super cheap while your still in NZ
Sideways hat Wayside hat Wayside school Wayside school is random cartoon Why did I watch as kid nobody knows I might be sideways potato hamburger explosion nothing makes sense goodbye pancake launcher
This and the previous episodes were awesome! Can't wait to see what else you guys can achieve with more supporting mods and tuning, love the work gentlemen keep it up! (that's what she said)
The 169KW is measured at the flywheel which translates to about 125kw at the wheels. The 182kw they got at the end of the video is also measured at the wheels so the engine itsself is probably making 220-230kw at the flywheel.
I have 2015 forester xt just got a pro tune all finished up and it pushing 300 hp at 21 pounds of boost. This puppy fly's like the wind now all I need is a 6 speed manual sti transmission to slap in and I can get a bigger turbo to make it go choo choo even more!!
+PseudoKirby You see, if I would have said that, you wouldn't have cared. But since this person commented and has a profile picture of a girl, you're gonna be nice to her in the hopes that you are gonna get laid. Problem is that your chance in getting laid over a comment like that is 148,958.99 to 1. Why try? you're being nice to someone who will completely ignore you and go on with their day not even thinking about your comment you posted out of the kindness of your heart.

Just doing a check through on the Season 4 playlist, and I don't see where the turbo upgrade video is. The vid before this (electric superchargers) says it's after that vid, and this vid says it was just done. Wondering why it isn't in the playlist. -__-
I also think they make weird hp generally in MCM so to say. In Denmark for instance the Forester 2.5 XT makes 225hp stock, and yeah the WRX STi makes 305hp. :|
Yes I'm 100% sure. Just like my brothers BMW 525i LCI (218hp stock) was dyno to 221hp, and my friends civic type r (201hp stock) was dynoed to 203hp. They've always matched the numbers from the factory... except ofcourse if it has like 400.000km and is really "tired" ofc it would lose some hp. I don't know if they get different models in Australia than eu?
It's been a while since I've been genuinely excited over a car video heh.. this episode had me on the edge of my seat.. felt almost like I was Moog watching my baby get juiced up. Can't wait to see what's next for the Forrester.. great series, I'm looking forward to the next installment as much as I look forward to the next episode of Top Gear. Never been a big Subaru fan other than STi's, but I love the Moogaru, awesome car.
Oh man. You got me so good. I'll admit that I was suspicious that you were trolling, but I wasn't sure, and still had me convinced for quite a while. You seriously land yourself in my books of top trolls of all time. My hat off to you sir.
One of the best episodes yet. You guys just keep getting better. I laughed my ass off and it was awesome to see the Moogaru make that kind of power. Bring it on now, Cressida.
You can do that buy getting a stronger spring in your forge 007 diverter valve and adjusting the rod from the wastegate solenoid to the flapper on the wastegate if it's internally gated. Or take the top vacuum line off and prevent the wastegate from opening if you want to be stupid and destroy your turbo from the compressor surge
Awesome video, still clearly remember my first ride after exhaust+custom reflash job in 2007 with my03 sti. Subaru stock ecu and almost free tools to play with are just more than I need.
Got to say too .. went to cut out right on the credits but had to come back (yet again) for the magic music 'yet again' … great stuff fellas (love your work) … But when oh when are you going to big turbo anything on big bikes ?
Before anyone gets on their high horse, i've always been on the understanding the more bhp you "squeeze" out of an engine the less life the engine will have compared to it's original power? Anyway, very nicely done :)
At 4:37, I hope that was a slip of the tongue. You lose gauge pressure because the small turbo can't provide the flow rate. The large turbo can provide higher flow rate, therefore maintains gauge pressure. The two turbos aren't providing the same boost pressure, that's why there are gains
They did an engine swap into a cressy, and that car is now sold. I wouldn't be surprised to see another car, be it Toyota, Mazda, Ford, Holden, Mitsubishi, Nissan or whatever else in the not too distant future. Marty and Moog. And lets not forget, they still have the blue turd too...
I have a 2006 Ford Falcon 6 cylinder that does 180kw stock and it cost me $10,000 4 years ago. Plus it's a proper road car and this means the handling is much better.
Not necessarily. If you upgrade the right parts and or use a conservative tune it wont hurt the engine at all. But you do have to do things like run higher octane gas and change your oil, spark plugs, belts, preventative maintenance stuff more often.
this test was done at the wheels, you lose power in all cars due to drag, friction in the drivetrain. they got 180kw at the wheels that is fast.... they weigh around the same as a wrx sti as well. tho then u dont get the features of a wrx sti like dccd, and other features to make it handle better etc but this is a practical daily drive as well.. as the guy said he is working with real people for real driving
"more air flow = more power, for the same amount of boost pressure", In this case the small td04 is unable to produce the same amount of boost pressure in the top end compared to the bigger turbo since the air flow to the cylinder is higher. Apply the perfect gas law.
Not only did I read the entire thread, I also went out looking for anything that corroborated with your comment that I could find online. You seem to be the sole authority on the topic. Feel free to explain or provide a link so that I may educate myself. Please continue the insults, I'm taking notes here as I'm finding my feelings so hurt that I'll want to unleash them on the next person who challenges me. I'll be great
starting to learn more about tuning and I love this video. But that's crazy for 85% duty cycle on the fuel pump, I wonder if over time you would see fluctuations with a lab scope indicating a dying motor. And another is your spark timing table would be awesome to see. But awesome videos you guys, you made me a new fan of the show.
the fuel pump should be running constantly keeping a steady pressure in the fuel rails. the injectors(which are just solenoid driven pin valves) are fiddled at 85% duty cycle. depending on the injector design, thats well within operational limits.
still a lot of duty cycling for a OE pump tho. I think most scan tools only limit 70% at most for testing. But ya you can run it at that rate but it probably won't last that long.
Thomas G. It's not the pump running at that DC. On turbo Subarus, the ECU normally runs the pump at 70% DC via a PWM box, and under boost ramps it up to 100%. Most fuel pumps are designed to run at 100% duty cycle and last hundreds of thousands of miles, and NA 'roos just have switched power. All or nothing. The 85% DC that's talked about is the fuel injector duty cycle. 90% is the rule-of-thumb limit for overhead on injectors.
An S2000 with an engine that is 76% that size can put down around 200-ish horsepower at the wheels. if you put a turbo and other similar mods they have performed @ 10PSI you are looking at an easy 300...
I would love to see an episode where they go to america, meet a crazy hot rod/muscle car guy, get a tiny family hatch, and put a 500bhp+ v8 in it... One day...
"and Marty knows the drive ability of soccer moms."
+Mew Wew Foot Ball Mums'*
+Mew Wew Poor Cheryl.
247hp from 170hp..That's pretty darn good..
On the wheels too👍🏻
That's a pretty impressive gain, especially gaining 50kw at the low end of the rev range, that would make it a totally different beast to drive
The Moogaru was the reason I got into MCM. When I was looking to get some power out of my 2010 Forrester xt turbo
Gotta love it when the credits start rolling but there is still like a minute left on the time bar. Ya know there will be some more funny shit coming up.
Finally more videos on your Subaru Forester XT , I actually like the car and I want to see how the "Final Build" will perform and look like !
"and marty knows all about the drivability of soccer moms" hahahaha
Custum chip tuning that powerful? Kinda astonished here, mates.
Thats some very professional work Lachlan/Ben are doing. Unlike most "tuning garages" out there
Wish I could find a jolly tuner like this dude out here in the states
+lrnlrn lol yeah right every tunner is a dick head
Irnirn You could try PFI Speed near Loveland, CO. They have their own channel: PFISpeed

Im no car guru but definitely recommend this channel for entertainment. Im definitely slapping that sub button, Keep up the good work +Mightycarmods
I’ve just binged watched this whole series. Now want a forester.
You should have posted a 'first drive' reaction video. :)
Just looking for comments about that guy's sideways hat
Sideways hat
Wayside hat
Wayside school
Wayside school is random cartoon
Why did I watch as kid
nobody knows
I might be sideways
potato
hamburger
explosion
nothing makes sense
goodbye pancake launcher
***** God speed you magnificant son of a bitch.
+Calvin Stevens Sideways hats are are intelegence adjusters. IQ drops in proportion to the amount of degrees hat is turned
Brian Stoner I have seen people who have turned their hat more than 360 degrees and even let the hat fall off their head entirely
Lmao
I think these official playlists need updating :( missing heaps of episodes
This and the previous episodes were awesome! Can't wait to see what else you guys can achieve with more supporting mods and tuning, love the work gentlemen keep it up! (that's what she said)
that s13 in the back mhmmm memories huh moog

Ahh the days before covid when you could hug your tuner.
I have 2015 forester xt just got a pro tune all finished up and it pushing 300 hp at 21 pounds of boost. This puppy fly's like the wind now all I need is a 6 speed manual sti transmission to slap in and I can get a bigger turbo to make it go choo choo even more!!
Where is the turbo swap vid? In the playlist it goes from the electric supercharger, to this.
Marty is just seeing how far he can push a soccer mum... Hello Cheryl.
Ah tuning, just like overclocking only for cars instead of computers.
Lol hell yeah
+Megan Arrington you seem well informed. thats wonderful
+PseudoKirby You see, if I would have said that, you wouldn't have cared. well no, never thought of it before in the context of that analogy, and no I can guarantee I will never ever sleep with this Megan person.
Sheryl would be very excited for a ride in this car after football practice!
Ah, the joys of lactose intolerance.

I miss seeing yous work on this beautiful car

Everyday I fall deeper in love with Subaru's and it's community. Congrats on incredible power gains!
All we'll drive baby!
I'm just chilling at 196kw on my stock commodore..
Yeah but it's a commodore haha
+jacob iversen I bet you'd still totally get chopped by the Mooby on the 1/4 mile
I'm just chilling at 200kw on my stock wrx
+Clifford R34 beaten plenty of those before ✌🏻
+jacob iversen ahaha and I've chopped many commies ✌🏽️
I love how Lachlan is so jolly. Like a young Santa haha.
180kw club? is that even a thing?
It's 315hp at the crank...that's a lot more than stock.
Its still horribly slow
Mark Rich Um
I have a 2010 forester xt with intake, intecooler, exhaust, vf52 and fuel pump and got 192kw I was pretty happy
I was lost through the whole video :|
Ricardo Sandoval What had you lost?
I lost the knowledge on cars I never had
they changed the limiters in the computer chips so it would run optimally
"If this guy comes up, lock your doors and run "
Marty's facial expressions are gold!
More power than a stock STI? I thought the dyno said 245HP and STI's come with 305?
I also think they make weird hp generally in MCM so to say. In Denmark for instance the Forester 2.5 XT makes 225hp stock, and yeah the WRX STi makes 305hp. :|
you both need to know the differences between whp and bhp..
Yes, and my friends stock 2005 wrx sti makes 305hp on the dyno
Lasse Olsen are you positive it's stock? stock blob eye sti makes around 220-260 awhp on various dynos. Proofs can be found in numerous Subaru forums.
Yes I'm 100% sure. Just like my brothers BMW 525i LCI (218hp stock) was dyno to 221hp, and my friends civic type r (201hp stock) was dynoed to 203hp.

Good work on the car it's come a long way since day 1
stop talking in kilowatts, it's a damn engine! not a generator ¬_¬
alex cadenas Get the fuck out.... just leave.....
make me ¬_¬.!.
alex cadenas Learn what kilowatts are then you can flip me off kiddo.
I know what they are, I was just exclaiming my annoyance about something
meh, I don't feel like it.

One of the best episodes yet. You guys just keep getting better. I laughed my ass off and it was awesome to see the Moogaru make that kind of power. Bring it on now, Cressida.
I think moog and marty should get an award for their epic dancing skills
Can't wait to see what you guys are gonna do next
WOW. When I get a new car, I seriously wanna personally talk to you guys about getting it to do some serious stuff. This is awesome.
started off with 125kw and added exhaust, and bigger turbo and remapped with ez flash tuner raising to 185kw. a 60kw increace which is awesome
@mightycarmods Eric The Car Guy has been showing you alot of love on his youtube, Go MCM
'and Marty knows all about the drivability of soccer mums' - Moog et al. 2012
You can do that buy getting a stronger spring in your forge 007 diverter valve and adjusting the rod from the wastegate solenoid to the flapper on the wastegate if it's internally gated. Or take the top vacuum line off and prevent the wastegate from opening if you want to be stupid and destroy your turbo from the compressor surge
no body knows why mighty car mods is so amazing
my heart jumped a little when I saw this video at the top of my page... love your work!
wow, that forester is sick!
Congratz Moog!!
That S13 in the back looked so damn sick.
Awesome video, still clearly remember my first ride after exhaust+custom reflash job in 2007 with my03 sti. Subaru stock ecu and almost free tools to play with are just more than I need.
Stock STi has 305hp at the crank. Big difference from crank to wheels (about 15% usually, but probably around 20% for AWD). 305 - 20% = 244whp
Missed that part! I had paused it and watched it when I got back home.
I thought you were talking about the XT being an STi.
Damn they have come a long way.
MOOG is a composer and music producer in Australia.
Very Impressed by your results..
Now take it back down the quarter and let us know how you go, I bet there will be a huuuuge improvements over before.
Moog is obviously the Moog of the show...
Got to say too .. went to cut out right on the credits but had to come back (yet again) for the magic music 'yet again' … great stuff fellas (love your work) … But when oh when are you going to big turbo anything on big bikes ?
damn. wish I lived there. wouldn't mind my turbo being upgraded by these guys
"And Marty knows all about the drivability of soccer moms" Hahaha that fuckin' killed me!
Before anyone gets on their high horse, i've always been on the understanding the more bhp you "squeeze" out of an engine the less life the engine will have compared to it's original power?
Anyway, very nicely done :)
There is never enough MCM in my life
best trent impersonation ever by marty, was heaps good!

love the end of the vid with the bogen voice gold need to do an ep just doing that voice. yeah i like cars heaps sick aaaaaa
That gentleman's beard was soooo EPIC!!

The fucking trent from punchy scene at the end is the best thing ive herd
Ben looks bloody funny in the hat and glasses. and I didn't know Trent had a twin named Marty lol.
that has to be the nicest forester i personallly have ever seen :)
Congrats on the power! I have a VF43 waiting to go in my Forester XT as well. :)
Turn captions on, go to 1:12... GRAVY EPISODE!!! I AGREE!!!!
8:46 - Moog is like "wtf you're not supposed to say that LOL"
He is the funny guy. He edits and he is Marty's friend.
If you guys are going to sema this year, I totally want to have a drink with ya
Moog's Subaru Forester XT is a killer.
really good episode guys!
Just found this channel and love it! Great work!
What another MCM its my lucky day! Maaaaaaad!!!!
damn MCM u need to be in BBC or tv channels
That guys like the notch of flash tuning !
that car started with 160 hp,now has 245 lol, masive gain there ,really really nice
i am impressed, my subaru wrx my99 has similar mods and goes very nicely too!

Newly Subbed to this channel, Im so happy I did!
I would love to see an episode where they go to america, meet a crazy hot rod/muscle car guy, get a tiny family hatch, and put a 500bhp+ v8 in it... One day...
Hi I'm Lachlan and I've been growing this epic stache and beard since 1993...
