How to Troubleshoot No Sound Issue in Google?
Just a quick fix it video for no sound in google chrome. Now you may be getting audio when you play movies or music files on your computer, but when you stream something in chrome, you have no audio. So in this video I will show you a simple way to fix no sound problem in chrome.

Hello! Is your sound still broken? I found a fix! Go to settings, go to advanced then to the bottom! Click restore settings to their default, this will remove extentions, but passwords will be saved, or you can use other search sites, hope this helps!

What worked for me:
Click “Start” or hit Windows key on keyboard > type “Sound Settings” and hit Enter > Scroll down and click “App volume and device preferences” > set Chrome output and input as “Default”

Okay just restart chrome a few times and it will probably appear and set the default to the speakers you use and that's the fix

Thank you for the instruction, it really helped and I fixed the problem just that quick. I might add that it was interesting to try and fix the sound in RUclips with a RUclips video while there is no sound in RUclips. Thanks to the closed captioning.

i have to close all chrome tabs and then if i want to watch a youtube video with sound i have to copy the link to it and close all chrome tabs when done then i open google and paste the link but if i get like an ad i cant hear anything and have to redo it. do you have any fixes for this?

Hi mines still not working and chrome isn't showing up in my volume mixer at all it allows me to watch one video with audio but if I change videos it will become mute (this applies to adverts as well if an advert plays it has sound but when its over everything else is mute) this can get very annoying as to watch any videos I have to close chrome and then reopen it just to watch another video or I use Microsoft Edge which im not quite used to all other apps have their sounds working its just chrome that's playing up also im not sure if this has anything to do with it but theres some thing called chromium that I cannot delete could that maybe be affecting chrome??? ;-;
@britec09 my sound is fading away in chrome. So if there is no louder sounds, just background noice in the video the audio slowly fades away. Then when something more loud is playing, lets say someone in the video starts talking. Then the audio turns up again. I have tried to reinstall and it wont work. In different browser the sound is working normaly. Any ideas?
Thank you!! I hadn't had any audio on RUclips for 6 months. My problem was the bottom right hand bottom corner speaker icon. I opened it up and sure enough Chrome had the red circle, so I clicked on that and went back to RUclips and now I have audio again!!

Hi, I tried to do FB Live and then share the screen using pc. I played videos from fb, twitter and youtube but when I checked the fb live later, I realized that it has no sound. Though I can clearly hear myself talking. Please help me fix the problem. I use headphone as my audio source and then I tried to use a speaker but still the results are the same. I also check the sound settings as you suggested but still No Sound.

I have Windows 11 on an ASUS ZenBook
My speakers are working well with all applications instead of Chrome!
A few weeks ago, Chrome stopped playing sound through speakers but only through headphones.
Edge play with both speakers or headphones.
I did all you recommended.
I read in Microsoft and did it,
I watched many videos on the subject “Chrome stop sound....” etc.
I updated the driver of Realtek
Realtek recognise when I plug in or out the headphones and thats all.
Chrome appear in the System > Sound > Volume mixer in both cases as well
I reinstalled Chrome.
Unfortunately, I still do not have sound on speakers from Chrome just through headphones.
Before a few weeks, all worked well and I do not remember doing any strange install/uninstalls on my laptop.
Can you advise me please what more I can try to fix this issue?

What worked for me is
1. Press start or search thing on your pc or laptop
2. search sound settings
3. Scroll down till u see advanced sound options and press on App volume and device performance
4. scroll down and press reset

Sound works fine in other browsers. I followed your directions but when I right click on the speaker in the lower right, no options appear. Any ideas?

Is there a way to get the lip movement to sync up with the sound? I don't use chrome, just the edge browser amd it doesn't matter which version, 1803, 1903. In standard mode most, but not all sync. In full screen almost none sync up. Congrats on 400k

sir when i'm trying to use the chrome extensions to increase volume in websites (like volume master) then when i'm activating the extension then no sound is coming from any videos of chrome. I again deleted the extension and the original sound came back. Sir i want to increase the sound of videos in website of chrome... so plzzzzzz help me to solve this problem

i think they mightve changed things cause i cant find sound in settings anymore like yours has. in mine its just 4 options, i looked in all of them and nothing

I have audio playback in most if not all audio features in Chrome. The only one I can not get audio from is Google's pronunciation tool when you look up the definition of a term and click on the audio pronunciation icon.
UPDATE EDIT: My issue was fixed with the portion of your video starting @2:40. "Sound was muted on this page."

This video helped me so much! I tried the settings one and I tried refreshing the page for my Spotify and RUclips but it wouldn't work then you did other ways of helping and the 2nd way of helping me with right clicking the sound button actaully worked I cannot thank you enough!
I can't even access the volume icon down below for some reason. Either I'll reset, shutdown and start it up the pc again. The alternate is get new headphones. But it seemed to had play sound/music normally from my programs on the PC before. Now it's gone again lolz.

Thanks for the video. I did all of these but none worked for me but still appreciate it. If anyone else is seeing this and none of the solutions worked for you, I have another solution! I recommend downloading CC cleaner, it's free, then doing a registry scan, fixing all bad registry then clicking clean, which will remove all cookies and site data, my problem was Google's cookies somehow became corrupt and disabled sound. After I ran a CC clean scan and registry scan my sound was back for Chrome. Like this so others can see.

I have a problem that I don’t think somebody have. When I open RUclips in chrome I can hear the first video, but when I open the second video there’s no sound. I don’t see something muted. I tried to uninstall chrome but it didn’t help. So if someone here knows what’s the problem plz help me.
Jaroslav Letiagin I had this problem and uninstalled my realtek speaker driver. RUclips works fine now and everything else seems fine without the driver intstalled! Hope this helps
