In this video I provide a guide on how to fix no audio or no sound in Windows 10. I cover most aspects of audio in Windows including what to do when you see no audio output device listed.

What burns me is the unmute advice, like people wouldn’t be watching this video if it was just a mute issue
A Public Broadcast TV Company's Sound Engineer thought turnng up the Volume of Mixed Signal (Vocals+Background Noise) improved the *clarity( of the vocals to my headphones ; )

Go to you "Device Manager", find your Audio sources, right clock, and update them. That's how I managed to fix my Audio Issue
You legend! Tried so many different guides and websites. Your point 2 = Audio Source fixed it for me. I simply clicked on the sound icon and changed the source and it worked. Thank you!
Thank Goodness for a Tutorial That Actually Helps with sound issues. It feels nice when you go through many videos and sites struggling to find a solution and you finally find the solution that works.

Also be careful of audio enhancers. They can sometimes cause issues so do a quick scan of your audio and it will ask if you want to then then off. Most of the time this also works.

Hi, how do i exactly set default the speakers? mine only says realtek digital audio output after we resetted the pc, the speakers isn't working anymore even tho it's plugged. I also tried updating the drivers but nothing seems to work need help pls

I thought I had tried everything. Your steps got me through it. I am so happy, a problem I have been sidestepping and struggling with for several weeks.
Here is the best solution for no sound after win 10 upgrade:
Control panel>Sound>Speakers= Enabled ( must have a visible tick inside the green dot)>Properties>Advanced>Exclusive mode> Disable/Untick the option=Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device>Select the best settings on the default format option (24 bit 192000 Hz studio quality) at the very bottom of the list, if supported by your hardware> Ok every open little windows to come out of it and close Cotrol Panel. I have just done it as a sudden light bulb went on in my mind and it worked straight away.

Thank you so much, I usually had my headphone jack plugged into the side of my pc, but for some reason it didn't work but when I plugged it into the green port it worked! Great video!

can't believe it, i swear this helped a lot. all i needed was the incorrectly plugged section. I checked and i accidently put the microphone plug instead of the headphones plug. thanks a lot!

Sometimes my original audio software/system *RealTek(R)Audio* on my laptop went missing. Once missing, I cannot find it from the list of troubleshoot (tourbleshoot will shown external harward instead like bluetooth speaker), and it is not even listed on my Device Manager. I had to restart my laptop multiple times until the audio software is worked again.
Why is that? Right now Im using Windows 10.

Subtitles have been set to auto. If they aren't showing, click the subtitles/closed captions option which can be found in the bottom right corner of the video labelled as the CC button.

I don't use any audio devices but my audio works but right now my audio has a red x mark next to it, and whenever I press it, it opens me a troubleshooting or support thingy and it is telling me to connect an audio device but I don't really know how to since my computer said I don't have any audio devices. This happened to me before and it somehow got fixed although I don't remember how. Can anyone please help me with this problem?

Thank you! I had no idea the audio source could be selected via the little speaker icon in the lower right. I didn't realize that was a drop-down list. I just setup a new monitor yesterday and it was set to the monitor and that monitor does not have built-in speakers. I love it when people post helpful information. I got an Oculus abt a week ago and a day ago the sound stopped working, I was trying everything i knew of until my brother told me to type it up. So I did, went on to the this video and what do you know. I was connected to: Headphones (Oculus virtual device)
Thanks! Somehow while moving the computer to get to the back my audio input changed.
Just a heads up. The boot loader can also affect audio when I boot windows on my nuc8 using clover the audio simply doesn't work but when I use windows boot manager it works just fine!

Thank you so much! I have low vision and I had the plug incorrectly plugged into a darker green. The port next to it must be a light green (I thought it was grey). I can hear out of my speakers now. Thank you, again!
I plugged in my Oculus Quest and it detected the speakers and after I unplugged it, it still detected them so I had to switch it back to Speakers / Headphones. Thank you so much for the help! :D

@@mxrcellis5821 for me I deleted then reinstalled my audio driver, than updated my device manager. I used it on my dell laptop running windows 10
so what if i was cleaning up my files and stuff and i olnly have one option for an audio thing when i click it it only shows one and i stell cant here anything and thanks for subtitle

Well, thank you. Those are all obvious possible solutions, but it still took me time to know what something was. My case this time was for some reason the audio driver was gone, and I searched for the laptop model number, located the driver, installed it, and bam.
Then I have another ongoing issue which is display. Drivers do go nuts, and it's 2023, and I've never seen this before in all previous computers I've ever used.
