Along the lines of your lightbulb & extract idea I use my essential oils in my vents. So for example in my bedroom I typically drop a few drops of lavender in my air vents and it brings a fresh clean and calming scent to our room. You can also drop or spray a little lavender essential oil on bedding or even just your carpet for a calming scent.
I have 4 dogs, a cat, and raise 2 little grandkids. What I do is I frequently clean out my vacuum filter. After it’s clean and dry I place peppermint essential oils on the filter and my house smells incredible every time I vacuum. I need to apply about once every 3 vacuum times. It’s incredible.
Love your top. Back in the days of old, we had metal rings that could hold a small amount of liquid fragrance. It would sit on the light bulb and heat while the light was on. I'm so glad you let us know about the newer light bulbs and where they heat up. Great hacks.
I forgot to add that the blower doesn't help dog hair. My lab/shepherd rescue mix sheds horrible. My car has black interior and golden dog hair doesn't move well. The other rescues are non shedding. If you find a hack for dogs' hair , I'm first to try.
My husband has an air compressor in the garage, and he parks the car in the driveway with all the doors open and uses that to get all the dog hairs and dirt out of the car. It works great! He also uses it after he empties the vacuum canister dust into the garbage can to finish cleaning that out, as well. Plus, he uses it to "dust "my wreaths and faux flower arrangements. You can't use high pressure on those, of course. He always says they change colors after he dusts them!! 😂😅🤣😮
For grout, I found baking soda with peroxide works well. The peroxide reacts to the baking soda with bubbles to loosen up dirt, but it also has more of a bleaching effect.
Love those hacks! Baby oil just went on my grocery list, and the lemon, vinegar cleaner will be tried today! An added bonus to using lemon, citrus scent is a natural antidepressant. I have a bathroom cleaning hack for you, I keep a small bottle of vinegar, as well as a jar of baking soda (I save the tops to parmesan cheese to place on the jar) in my cleaning tote to clean my toilet or anything else that need a little extra soft scrubbing.
Wow! Watching you in this video, I realized how energetic you've become. You always had a level of excitement in your videos, but there's a renewed energy that's coming across now. The difference is night and day. You are very powerful girl!
You might like to try this DIY for cleaning/insect repellent - yes, it works for both: Put orange peels into a jar then cover with white vinegar - put on lid and soak in a dark cupboard for 2 weeks. Strain out the peels, then put the liquid into a spray bottle.... I haven't tried other types of citrus peels, but think they might work, too. As I said, this works for cleaning, but also can be used as a bug spray and ants avoid areas it has been sprayed on.
I used this hack 35+ years ago. e parted our Ford bronco on the hill of the drive way--Opened the hatch and the doors and turned on the leaf blower! Amazing.
Those home hacks were awesome. Your husbands reaction was hilarious. Where did you get your slippers? .....there so cute. I'm so happy your feeling better. Stay safe 🙏🏼😉
I had my fridge repaired last week and mentioned to the repairman I could not stand the smell of stainless steel cleaner and he suggested pledge furniture polish. I used fragrance feel end dust and it worked great. No smell and the stainless sparkled. No sticky mess.
Love watching your channel. Hope you stay well I use a tray under my toaster to keep crumbs from spreading. Put the toaster in the tray then just grab the tray to lift onto the counter off your shelf or drawer where you store it. All the crumbs stay in the tray rather than on your counter or storage place.
Agree I just cleaned mine vacuum yesterday as I am doing some spring cleaning. Yes I live in Florida so it's getting warm so I want to get it done. Then we will be going to our other home at the end of May for a few months since it gets so hot here in Florida.
Sometimes it isn't that you are not using it, sometimes it is brand new and never used. 🤣 Mine are dirty, but I still want a new one soon. Really I want a handheld vacuum for the furniture to make it easier since I don't have carpet.
LOVED the video ✅ esp the baby oil hack!! Here’s the BEST GROUT TRICK - Home Depot carries grout paint. Once you e scrubbed it as clean as it can get, let dry and then paint over the grout lines with an art brush and wipe excess away. Super easy and gives you a completely clean, fresh look with having to scrape the grout and regrout the whole thing. You can even change the shade of grout (darker or lighter) if you choose and it can help modernize a dated tile. I’ve done it a few times in different properties.
I use the bread tag to clean the crack between my stove and counter. For the shredded cheese hack, I would put the arrowroot in first and shake the empty bag then add the cheese. Love these hacks 😊
Thank you. Some great hacks, I’d like to know how the baby oil works on stainless steel long term. I thought you made the cutting board with the leftover from your table.
I use those plastic bread thingies on my packing tape, duct tape, masking tape, etc. to mark the end so I don't have to search for the edge of the tape.
I might be wrong, but I think I have watched professional cleaners on RUclips say that if your counters are granite, you should not clean them with vinegar. It will pit the granite. Definitely worth checking into. And I can't wait to try the leaf blower on the cars. Thanks so much! 😊
You are correct, it will eat away the protectant seal and leave your granite dull and vulnerable to staining. Alcohol and water solution is a better option to disinfectant your granite countertops.
@@RebeccaWife1Mom4 Add a little Dawn dish soap and you can use this on stone tiles too - which should not have anything acidic either. Also works well on black enameled cooktops to polish without streaks.
The bread tags are good if the middle comes out of your flip flop, put the middle back through hole and put bread tag around it on bottom will not pull through! I'm Jenienne in Louisiana
For grout paste with baking soda and not outdated peroxide use fresh to maintain potency bc you then just made your own oxyclean. Let it sit on there before rinsing give it time without drying out. Rinse then voila. You seem like such a sweet lady. Love your videos and empowering attitude ❤️ stay healthy 🙏
Natalie I do use the blower for our cars but have you used the blower to blow out your clothes dryer vent. Put the blower where you clean the filter and it will blow out the lint that is caught in the line to outside or wherever it discharges to. Helps prevents a fire.
I would double check, but I recently read that acids like vinegar & lemon are bad for stone counters as it etches the surface & wearing out your pretty counters. I love your top in this one.
To clean my grout, I love using the 12% hydrogen peroxide. Just put it on there and let it sit for a while, use a scrubber if you need to but it does an amazing job! They have even higher percentages of it but I’ve only used the 12% and it works well for me.
Never heard of doing extract. I'll have to try that. I'd always heard essential oils. So glad that your brother mentioned where the heat is because I was wondering about that on the new bulbs.
Hey NataLee! Another great video! Since having glass shower doors for the first time and a huge builder grade mirror with no bath fan (why?? 😭😆), I have discovered Rain-x 2-in-1 Glass Cleaner & Rain Repellant works like magic to keep them both clean and streak free for longer than regular window cleaner. There's no need for a squeegee at all. Just be sure to remove any soap scum or build up before spraying it on. It is truly one of the best things I have found to do. This spray is also the only way I've found to perfectly clean these annoying mirrors, I swear it also cuts down on them fogging up as well.
Love the light bulb hack 🤗TY TY…. I hate the smell of a stale vacuum so I put peppermint oil on a cotton ball (ab 3-4drops) and put it in the emptied collection portion of my vacuum cleaner…definitely freshen up the room as I vac… then just empty as usual really leave my vac smelling fresh too….also a few drop on a *coffee filter( *basket style) placed behind a running fan is also a quick room freshener 💁🏻♀️
My husband watched this video with me and he is all over the tip with the plastic bread shack closers. He loved the light scent idea, he hates candles. We both loved the leave blower idea for cleaning out vehicles. We laughed , but are going to give it a go on Saturday. My husband said to tell you that your son needs to be responsible for cleaning the car every week . He taught our son at age 10 to detail the inside of our car. To this day at age 48 he keeps his truck clean He taught both his kid. I think its they take ownership of how good the car looks and that is the trick. We skip teaching our daughter and at age 46 her car tends to be messy. A lot of comments from all of us on how good of a job they did. It works.💖💖💖💖
Great video! definitely doing the extract on light bulbs throughout my house before I go to bed tonight. Your refrigerator looked so good! As soon as I find my baby oil doing that one too. Thanks for sharing!
Well that's true but there is an explanation. Once a month followed by rinse it with water after to get it off won't hurt it. Acid will etch stone but it would have to sit on the stone for a very long time before that happened.
My mom used to spritz the lightbulb with Chanel No. 5, when getting ready for a date night with Dad. My sister and I would smell it while eating our TV dinner in front of the TV. That was a treat.😂
I keep a lobster fork handy in my kitchen gadgets. I use all the time in the kitchen. I use the tines for lifting my drain strainer with the tiny holes. The little scooper on the opposite end works great for separating garlic cloves. Lets me get into tiny grooves for cleaning.
Love the video. I just cleaned my dirty vacuum yesterday as I have started the spring cleaning. We live in Florida so I am getting it done. We will go to our other home for a few months at the end of May. It's 82 degrees here today. Have a blessed weekend.
I just watched this & loved the hack about the leaf blower. I'm curious about the Baby Oil hack. Did you find more finger marks on the fridge afterwards? I have a great hack for you. Did you know if you spill red wine that white wine is the eraser? Seriously, this works! You soak up as much of the red wine with paper towels then pour white on the stain. It basically vanishes before your eyes. You do need to soak up the white wine & then I would wash with a mild soap just to remove the wine aroma. This trick has saved my carpet a couple of times! 🍷
Love all your episodes and I’m enjoying my Athena drill. For the cheese hack you can also use flour. Some more hacks and time saving tips: Applying RainX to shower doors reduces spotting and hard water build up. Applying a few drops of essential oil to the inside of your toilet paper roll gives off a nice scent Your favorite liquid hand soap can easily be turned into foaming hand soap by diluting with water. 1 part soap to 4 parts water. As a bonus it saves money. This hack requires a foaming soap dispenser. Cleaning a microwave is much easier if you first bring water to a boil inside and let the steam loosen up the grime. Then you can wipe it down with a paper towel or microfiber towel. I’ve been on a mission to reduce paper towel usage. I keep two small containers under my sink one with clean microfiber towels and another to hold the dirty towels. This small hack has made it easier for the family to start and keep this habit and saves me time from having to immediately take dirty towels to the laundry room on the opposite side of the house. I save my plastic food containers and use them to hold paint when crafting. Then when I’m done I can toss the container and save time on cleanup. When in the middle of painting you can wrap your dirty brush in plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator to keep the brush from drying out. This even works overnight. Keep things where you find you often use them regardless of how unconventional the location may be. For example I keep spray in wash in my bedroom closet so I can treat stains immediately when tossing laundry in my hamper. Decanting and alphabetizing my spice drawer has been my single most time saving kitchen hack and it looks beautiful too. I get lots of ooos and ahhs from house guests.
I'm afraid the baby oil on the fridge will just attract dust and fingerprints. What I use instead is Pledge furniture polish -it leaves a beautiful shine that lasts for days and is very fingerprint resistant. As far as cleaning it, I use good old Windex! These work on the fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and range.
My stainless steel spray cleaner contains mineral oil and once you polish it dry makes the refer really easy to just wipe clean for MONTHS. (Cerama Bryte brand).
@designedtothenines thank you for your prayers. I just left the doctor. I have another sinus infection. She wants me to get a CT scan of my head and see a neurologist.
I bought on Amazon the scrub brush attachments for my drill. My husband’s bathroom is the only one that hasn’t been done over in this house. It has white tile and grout. Scrub brushes are freaking amazing. They got down into it and cleaned it all out.
My 4 boys & now my grandsons help clean my car starting as young as 2-3 yrs old. They'r fully capable of learning 2 clean their messes up. Even my 2 yr old granddaughter's parents make her help pick up her toys, cups, etc... out of their car where she sits. She has helped carry in her stuff since she could walk & balance well enuff not 2 fall down.
May I suggest that the usual way is to use essential oils rather than extracts. There are also rings that you can buy that you place on your light bulb. It has a little trough and you pour your oil into that.
Many yrs ago(in the 90's) there used to be ceramic rings that you could buy that would sit on top of your light bulbs. The oils were put into the ring and when the light was turned on, the smell was wonderful!
Love your new home! ❤ love these hacks, the baby oil is my new fave, i use toilet bowl cleaner and sometimes hydrogen peroxide and baking soda instead. Back n fourth. It works great! RainX is a must on shower doors and after cleaning sinks, wipe rain x in sink bowls, works great too. I use essential oils in my wash to freshen towels and linens, pillows, shower curtains too. Do this for your outdoor pillows, cushions N umbrellas using lemon oil, it keeps flies n mosquitoes away! My fave hack! Use lemon oil on the bottom of feet to help reduce smelly feet and to bleach out rough spots and discolored areas on bottoms of feet! Awesome! Smells wonderful!
i use distilled vinegar for clening and when i squiz lemong keep skin and mix it with bit of vinegar in tall glass jar - great for your nails to make white , detox skin from clenaing detergents, and skin after uisng clenaing product you can cut for small pieces boile and make drink for sleeming or dry for pot pourie or winter drinking tea .
Hi! Great ideas! I use the lamp bulb trick ,its made the bulb sticky and attracts bugs, when I hear was to put baking soda in vacuum, so when vacuum it kills all smells! Thanks enjoy your weekend! 🤗🥰
I've been doing this since the early 90's. Just for the family and especially during parties and get togethers. Also would put a little drop in my candle wax. A trick I learned from a woman who owned a darling candle shop. Now back to your video. 😊❤❤
i got some AG1 after seeing ur video a couple months ago. i LOVE it! i drink it straight up (w a drop of the oil that comes w it mixed in). it's good, and u'r right, i actually crave it!
Baby oil! Great idea! Must smell a lot better than WD40. And I must agree about grout cleaning. Though the vinegar/baking soda works probably well enough, at my age and with my health the quicker the better, and the less cleanup the better.
Watkins Co. used to sell a ceramic ring that sat around the light bulb that you could put oils in and have that same effect as rubbing it on the light bulb. I haven’t seen them in a long time. But we used to use them a lot. And YES, it worked so well!! Fun video, love the hacks!
Lots of cool hacks, I’ll be trying a few, especially the cheese one! Thanks NataLee, that was fun. You sure look like you’re feeling so much better, so happy for you!!🥰💕💕💕
I usually don’t post on RUclips, but I just got my Lady Jane Drill in. It came super quickly and I am so excited. It is very good quality, the design is super cute, and I can’t wait to use it. My husband isn’t touching my new drill.😊 I look forward to new tools coming out from this line. Way to go Natalee.👍🏼👍🏼
Great video. Love the hacks and I am sure going to try them. Thank you for sharing these. Love your new table and the cutting board in the same design. Love the chevron pattern! ❤
I put baking soda in my vaccume cleaner canister when I store it and I use those laundry beads in it before I vacuum. It smells so good. No stinky air either.
I have a rainbow, vacuum cleaner. Which that has a water filter container. So I have been putting essential oils in the water and it makes the same thing. Love all your ideas.
Hi NataLee, thanks for the cleaning hacks, the baby oil on stainless is new to me. Can’t wait to buy some & clean my kitchen trash can. Seems it is not ever spotless, streak free, & shiny. I find lemon & lime can be exchanged in cleaning recipes. Shhh-- I still use toilet cleaner on my grout too when nothing else works! Thank you too for sharing your AG1 experience. I gave up consuming Coke Zero, then dairy milk about Christmas. My skin, tummy troubles, & dental health are all better. I’ll be looking into AG1 & trying your flavor hack. Have a safe design trip!
No vinegar on granite countertops. It can erode the finish and react with minerals in the granite and cause etching. Lemon juice is also acidic. Clean granite with just plain dish soap and water. A spritz of glass cleaner removes any leftover residue.
For corded bag vacuums I always place a dryer sheet or potpourri sachet outside the bag. Walmart actually sells a Fabreeze sheet that adheres to the bags. Also for scraping the counter or glass cooktop I keep a small windshield ice scraper.
Natalie, I’m an oldie but a goodie. My favorite extract is vanilla. I also love, vanilla, candles, vanilla, handcream, vanilla hand, disinfectant, vanilla sprays and plug-ins. Ha ha ha ha do I need to go on?
My husband offered to wash the kitchen floor…of course be my guest. I went on an errand when I returned he was drying the floor with the leaf blower…😂😂😂
I love eucalyptus extract & essential oils!😊 Ok, Camden, he should clean that cup holder! LOL😅 Great viewer's hacks! As always, NataLee, thank you for sharing them with us! Stay safe, healthy, and positive! God bless you and your family!🙏❤️🇺🇸😊
Hi Natalie diy donna here love the video thank you for sharing with us and i will be checking out ag1 out thank you for sharing that as well Now for the baby oil on the fridge. My mom used to clean her car out and after she was done. The leather and the postery. She would wipe down with baby oil and it will shine your vinyl.
When I started making the kids clean out their messes from the car, our car suddenly got a lot cleaner! We have a mini vacuum that I store in the garage for that exact purpose. You did great to give your son personal accountability for his mess.
You're doing a great job! Keep it up! I think I will add soft vegetables and blueberries into hot meat in bucket to allow heat from meat to cook it. Cook washed rice , sweet potatoes, and carrots in Instant pot, add to bucket. Add spices and egg shells. Allow to cool before packaging.
When my kids were in high school I worked a Bingo fundraiser every week. The floor was always a huge mess at the end of the event. We used leaf blowers to blow the trash from the back to the front of the room where it could then be scooped up into a trash can. The technique worked really well!
I've done the scents on a bulb trick for years! You just have to make sure it is a cold bulb, or they can break. And I've used the socks for dusting and many of the hacks.. Just a funny story, my grandmother used to put clean underwear on her head while she cleaned to keep her hair out of her face 😅 ,and one of my sisters does that too! 😂
You can find light bulb rings that are especially made to diffuse perfume with the heat of the bulb. Usually made of a porous material that will absorb any essential oil / perfume of your choice. They were quite common a number of years back but are a bit harder to find nowadays. Maybe because of the switch from incandescent to led bulbs? 🤔

A round scrubbing brush attached to your drill does wonders on car mats. Really gets the deep ground in dirt out. Thanks for these hacks

I thought those rings were not sealed ceramic.

I've been doing the baby oil on my fridge since last year and love it
Love the video. I just cleaned my dirty vacuum yesterday as I have started the spring cleaning. We live in Florida so I am getting it done. We will go to our other home for a few months at the end of May. It's 82 degrees here today. Have a blessed weekend.
That is awesome!
Great hacks. I’m glad you shared them so we could see if they work
Love all your episodes and I’m enjoying my Athena drill.
For the cheese hack you can also use flour.
Some more hacks and time saving tips:
Applying RainX to shower doors reduces spotting and hard water build up.
Applying a few drops of essential oil to the inside of your toilet paper roll gives off a nice scent
Your favorite liquid hand soap can easily be turned into foaming hand soap by diluting with water.
Fun video!!! I will definitely be trying the lemon and vinegar cleaner. 💜
I love a good hack. Can't wait to use a few of these. Thanks for sharing, NataLee and subscribers.
Yay! Thank you! Hope you’re doing well!
@@designedtothenines you're welcome, friend. Thank you, I'm doing okay. I should find out today why I'm having the migraines.
No more hand scrubbing you will throw that green brush away
I've been doing some of these hacks for many years and have passed them on to my children. I say if they drive the car they can clean the car.
Camden!!! We want to see how good you can do!
Well, I got up and started cleaning my vacuum - not only the canister, but the filters. Now we are very close friends 😂
I definitely back you up with the kids helping!! Great hacks!!
Thanks for the review of those cleaning tips. Not a fan of the lemon juice on the tile because of time needed to accomplish.
Great idea!
i use distilled vinegar for clening and when i squiz lemong keep skin and mix it with bit of vinegar in tall glass jar - great for your nails to make white , detox skin from clenaing detergents, and skin after uisng clenaing product you can cut for small pieces boile and make drink for sleeming or dry for pot pourie or winter drinking tea .
I have done the leaf blower hack. I live in South Texas on the beach, it is 1 of the only ways to get the sand out of carpet.
Hi! Great ideas! I use the lamp bulb trick ,its made the bulb sticky and attracts bugs, when I hear was to put baking soda in vacuum, so when vacuum it kills all smells! Thanks enjoy your weekend! 🤗🥰
Go for it Camden! Now !!
I’m so glad! Yay!!
Yes, today and once a week in perpituity. Contributing to the family chores. Good Luck.
Great ideas! Cannot wait to try the baby oil
Hi NataLee. If your tile is stone acidic things like vinegar can damage the stone. Probably lemon juice as well.
Baby oil! Great idea! Must smell a lot better than WD40. And I must agree about grout cleaning. Though the vinegar/baking soda works probably well enough, at my age and with my health the quicker the better, and the less cleanup the better.
Yes, children should help clean up their own mess ❤
Watkins Co. used to sell a ceramic ring that sat around the light bulb that you could put oils in and have that same effect as rubbing it on the light bulb. I haven’t seen them in a long time. But we used to use them a lot. And YES, it worked so well!! Fun video, love the hacks!
Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to see if I can find one!
Essential oil is great. Be careful around finished furniture. It ate off the finish on an area it dripped on. This was a few years back!
Lots of cool hacks, I’ll be trying a few, especially the cheese one! Thanks NataLee, that was fun. You sure look like you’re feeling so much better, so happy for you!!🥰💕💕💕
I usually don’t post on RUclips, but I just got my
Lady Jane Drill in. It came super quickly and I am so excited. It is very good quality, the design is super cute, and I can’t wait to use it. My husband isn’t touching my new drill.😊 I look forward to new tools coming out from this line. Way to go Natalee.👍🏼👍🏼
I’m so, so glad! Yay!
I was gifted years ago a terracotta ring that goes on top of your light bulbs that you pour your oil in and it really works great!!!
I need to find one!
@@designedtothenines I found one similar on Amazon called "ceramic lamp ring with fragrance oil"
Great video. Love the hacks and I am sure going to try them. Thank you for sharing these. Love your new table and the cutting board in the same design. Love the chevron pattern! ❤
You are adorable!!! Your husband is a cutie too! Great couple. Love your hacks. Really love your High End DIY's.
I use the leaf blower in my car all the time
Hi NataLee, thanks for the cleaning hacks, the baby oil on stainless is new to me.
Thanks!
SUCH GOOD IDEAS...THANK YOU
For corded bag vacuums I always place a dryer sheet or potpourri sachet outside the bag. Walmart actually sells a Fabreeze sheet that adheres to the bags. Also for scraping the counter or glass cooktop I keep a small windshield ice scraper.
Awesome!
That's interesting, I always just waited a few hours before allowing anyone to walk in the floor. Now, I need to buy a blower. 😮
😅😂😅😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Almond extract my fave 100%!
I love eucalyptus extract & essential oils!😊
Ok, Camden, he should clean that cup holder!
New viewer thanks to your friend Lisa...love!
Welcome!!💕
You're doing a great job! Keep it up! I think I will add soft vegetables and blueberries
into hot meat in bucket to allow heat from meat to cook it.
I love all these ideas. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤
