Don't throw away the old wax from your wax warmer. Instead, put it back in the container or old ice tray . Also, you could put them in between your clothes so they smell good.
Keep old toilet paper rolls and cut them to use as a way to hold wrapping paper from unraveling or instead of taping the paper and wasting. Wider than one roll - tape two together
Here's another candle hack. Don't blow out a candle until the wax has totally liquefied across the top of the candle - from one side to the other. The candle will burn better and properly if you wait until the entire surface is melted before putting the flame out. Works really well!
I like to put my sheets on my bed when they are wet. I just put them on my bed straight from the washing machine. When they dry on the bed they are so crisp and no wrinkles. I just love crawling into bed to such crisp sheets!
OMG seeing you dust with the broom brought back memories. My grandma raised me. She always put a cloth around a broom and dusted walls with her apron and bonnet on. She was born in 1901 and lived 95 yrs so I got to keep her awhile. Thanks

Here’s my grated cheese hack! When you buy a block of cheese and you want to grate your own (I like to grate my own Mexican blend😬), grate as much as you want, put a teaspoon/tablespoon of cornstarch (depending on how much you grated) shake the bag to coat and store in the freezer for long term! Take out as much or little as you need! The cornstarch keeps it from clumping into a hard frozen ball. Much better than the cellulose they use in the commercial bag of shredded cheese!
For your strawberry hack, it sounds really great, however, while working in a grocery store, I learned that when you wash your strawberries they absorb water and this will make them spoil faster. I would like to suggest that you wait until you are ready to eat the strawberries to wash them. :)
Yes, I agree about the strawberries. My cousin was a PhD in foods and she said we should never wash strawberries until we are ready to serve them because they spoil extremely quickly.
For me, I have found that if I soak for 5 minutes in 1/2 Apple Cider Vinegar and 1/2 water, then rinse and put in a glass jar in the fridge, they last over a week. If I wait, they rarely last 2 days

This may not be a true hack, but I love it: Save Your Bread Tags!!!! I use them as disposable scrapers for just about anything that needs scraping: pans particularly after eggs for instance where the stuff ruins your scrubby, blobs on floors, a quick scrape along the inside of your dishwasher door, marks on floors that your mop can't get, spacers for whatevers, cleaning your fridge and freezer door, and a million other quickies where you can toss it after.
You can also use them on hangers to mark items, just below the hook, I put them the tags. You can use them on your plants to mark them in the garden. Or if your on vacation, mark which house plants to water and when 1/2/3. I save all mine to reuse, a ton of different ways.
Great video Natalee! One of my all time favorite cleaning hacks is for shower doors and nasty, cloudy hard water stains and cloudiness. This hack is especially use for hard water stains on the older, texture type of shower doors. All you need to do is put some lemon oil on a soft rag and wipe down the door. It completely takes away the cloudiness and water stains in an instant. It also helps to repel the water thus making the time between cleans longer. I have been using this hack for over twenty years. I remember being blown away the first time I used this on a textured shower door all those years ago. Just adds that finishing touch to make your bathroom look super clean. Hope you enjoy. I got black permanent marker marks on my white bedspread. I had heard that hairspray gets ink off and I know it works because my grandson took apart an ink pen and it leaked. He got handprints of ink on the wall and ink spots from pens on the carpet. I sprayed the ink spots with hairspray and blotted with a clean rag. It really was amazing how well it cleaned that ink completely out of the carpet-so I decided to try the hairspray on the permanent marker marks on my white bedspread. It worked!!! Wash with regular laundry soap or wool it’s after all of the ink has been rubbed off!
On your laundry sheets in your pillowcases, not only does it make them smell great, but I've done this forever because it rids your pillows of dustmites. For anyone with allergies this is ideal! Win Win
You have some great hacks. I have one which probably everyone has heard of it or did it. When I dust, I use an old sock. Keeps you hands clean and you can get in to some areas where using a plain dust rag won't get in to. So do not throw out socks where you may have lost one or they may have a hole in them. Now to do ceiling fans with your sock, you can cut off the other end, then put the blade through the sock and then when you pull the sock off the dust stays inside the sock,. I hope that made sense.
You can also use a pillowcase on the end of a broom, then you can slip the open end of the pillowcase inside the blade, then it will leave the dust inside the pillowcase when you remove it. I also use socks for wiping down all sorts of surfaces as I find them so much more convenient to use and I can get into all the nooks & crannies with them, especially when dusting regular furniture. I use one sock with the wax or spray polish taking off the dust, then buff it off with the sock on the other hand. However, living in the sub-tropics, I have some large pieces of wood furniture that needs a pick-me-up to return it to life every 6 months or so, so I wipe on furniture wax, then buff it off with a car polisher. I bought a used one ... that actually has a toweling cover for the pad for putting the wax on, then a sheepskin pad to buff it off. It works brilliantly because it also buffs the carved parts as well.
I use an old pillow case.. slide the blade right inside the pillowcase and all that dust is trapped inside until you wash it.. turn inside out and shake it outside before you wash
My second daughter actually drew the cutest little pic on her bedroom wall so I just bought a cheap picture frame and hung it around the drawing for a few years. I also gifted her a drawing pad and we talked about not doing that anymore. Amazingly she didn’t.
I have spent HOURS AND HOURS scrubbing grout, trying different products, trying “helpful hacks”, and remained unsatisfied with the results every single time. Then, awhile ago you showed your helpful hint utilizing toilet bowl cleaner. I happened to be giving my bathroom a deep clean at the time and was listening to RUclips videos as I cleaned. I have a shower area that is tons of tile and has been a pain to clean every time I tackle it. So, I figured it couldn’t hurt to try one more suggestion (yours), got the toilet bowl cleaner and applied it , then used a toothbrush to lightly scrub the treated grout. Then I used my hand held shower head to spray the area and wash it clean. My shower looked brand new. I was dumbfounded that it worked and worked easily. I have spent so much time scrubbing grout over the last 30 years in our home and spent hours thinking about the fact that I had to face that job once again. This idea was a breeze and worked so well. I’m still celebrating the fact that I will no longer have to slave all day cleaning grout in this house. Just an amazing hack. I’m sincerely saying thank you!!🙂

But I also want to tell you how much I admire you for answering your comments. I do not know many You Tubers that answer ANY of their comments so this is so refreshing. Sometimes we might just want to tell you how much we love what you are doing or have a question so it is nice to know you might read and possibly answer questions we have. Now, I realize there is not much of a way you can answer everyone and I hope you know you do not have to answer anyone. It is just nice to know that if we have a question we might get an answer! About using essential oils in the first hack ... I use the in-wash scented booster beads. By adding just a few of the beads, a light scent comes through while vacuuming. The beads are a considerably less expensive option than using essential oils. Happy vacuuming!
The fabric softener mix for your sheets also works for when you don't get your clothes out of the dryer when it goes off and they're wrinkled. I will lightly spray the wrinkled articles of clothing, put them back in the dryer and turn it back on for about 15 minutes. Also I know sometimes we forget we have a load in the washer, it smells musty/sour and it has to be rewashed. Add a cup of regular white vinegar with just a little laundry soap and wash again. This works for towels that get musty over time as well. Vinegar is antimicrobial so it does wonders.
You can just toss in a wet face cloth or bath towel, depending upon how much is in the washing, into the clothes dryer to remove the wrinkles if left after they have cooled down. :)
Vinegar is wonderful and safe...have a spray bottle with one third vinegar and two thirds water...you can safely wipe your countertop down and rinse off produce from the store...as well as laundry use..
I do love the fabric softener Fabreeze hack !! I have been using this for a long time ! Another hack for saving in dryer sheets using fabric softener Take an airtight container that’s kind of cute ! I use an oxox one , place 4 or more ( 4 fit in mine ) dollar store sponges and water about half way filled and a little bit of your favorite fabric softener maybe 80/20 not too much fabric softener! Throw one or two in dryer instead of sheets ! Works same just throw them back in container! I do squeeze excess fluid out before placing in dryer! At some point I clean the solution out and replace ! I have not purchased dryer sheets for over a year
I really love beautiful smells too but people need to catch up and learn how harmful these “popular” cleaners and scents really are . They are sooo damaging to our health. Not just mildly so either. Downy, scented aline Sol, Mrs Meyers and Method ARE NOT your friends and certainly not good for our health. The best scent here was the natural home made one with the lemon and rosemary. Stick to those those and maybe just a few of the essential oil based ones. Forget things like the Downy beads no matter how clean smelling they may seem. Long term, they are dangerous.
I just wanted to mention that I have been doing the softener and the spray bottle with water trick for a couple years now. It's an amazing idea! You can also missed your carpet with it let it dry I use an old Febreze bottle and then vacuum and your carpet is so soft and it pulls oils and dirt about your carpet and it stays beautiful for much longer. Unfortunately I live in an apartment and my carpets fairly old and since I've been doing those people think that I've had new carpet installed. I love your channel I happened onto it tonight. And I subscribed. It's amazing how many things that I actually do and how many I've learned. Thank you love your channel.
You can also sprinkle bicarb of soda (baking soda) on your carpets and leave for 10 minutes, or longer if you can ... and then vacuum. I also make up house/air freshener sprays using a couple of cap fulls of vodak & a few drops of essential oil, whatever type you like. The vodka disolves the oil, so then, into a fine spray/mist bottle, you add water. This works well to leave a longer lasting scent in the carpet than the conditioner perfume because as the vodka & water dry out, the essential oil remains, but only in very tiny molecules.
Love love love the hacks. I did see a few that I use. And a few versions of things I use. As to your hack about keeping the mirrors and windows from fogging over. I use rain-x. However, I used shaving cream in the past and buffed it out like you did the car wax. Also to keep my shower looking clean and newer longer, I use a squeegee to remove the water after a shower, and then every third or fourth shower I apply fresh rain-x there as well In addition I have a hack for your washing machine. Over time, the tub of the washer gets a buildup of hard water and oils and I don't know what else, but it can really smell unpleasant, the dishwasher as well. So... Take about three lemons. Cut them into quarters. gently squeeze them inside the machine, and then leave the lemons inside and run the machine through a complete cycle. don't worry about rinsing afterward, just remove whatever is left of the fruit after it has finished. the machine will not only smell better but work more efficiently having some of the buildup removed.
To resew on buttons with white thread, use white dental floss instead. It's super strong! To take sharpie marker off glass items (especially prices marked on thrift finds), use a magic eraser. They come right off. I also use the magic eraser on the unfinished rims at the bottom of pitchers, creamers, crocks, etc that gets really dirty at thrift stores. They come out completely clean.
For #28 the garbage can hack, I put old newspapers or advertisements in the bottom of the can and drop essential oils onto it and for the cover of the can, I use those adhesive felt circles you place under furniture to protect the furniture/floor. I drop essential oils onto the felt circles and it gives a nice scent when you put your trash in the can. I replace both the newspaper and felt circles as needed. By the way, I love your channel; thanks for all you do!
When you were taking the paint out of your black slacks, I kept wishing you would work on that other spot, the when you wiped over them, I realized the spot was on my IPad screen.😂

As for dryer sheets Put them in suitcases that your not using. It will keep them from being musty. Put them in drawers to make them smell nice. Put them between your mattress and box spring and you will not have any critters in your mattress. Put into a cedar chest or a storage bench. It will keep things inside smelling nice

I've got 3 hacks and a suggestion. 1. Use a lint roller to "dust" your lamp shades. Running a lint roller over your lamp shades will pick up lots of dust that's settled on the shade. This way, you're pulling dust off the shade and not pushing it into the shade material that will happen when you use a duster or any product that touches the lamp shade. 2. You can also use a lint roller to go over your screens. You'll be surprised at all the dirt and pollen that has stuck to the screens. Using your hose to wash the outside of your windows will wash the screens from the outside, but there is dirt, and especially pollen, that continues to cling to the inside of the screen. For people with allergies, this will help to reduce the amount of pollen that aggravates so many of us. 3. I spray hydrogen peroxide on all my glass lids and then dust with baking soda. We leave our iron skillet with a glass lid on the stove all the time, and it gets caked with grease. This cuts the grease so well that all I have to do is wipe it off with a damp sponge. Then wash as normal and it's sparkling clean. Magic Erasers are made of melamine foam. I recently purchased 100 pads of melamine foam on eBay for $1.00! Yes, ONE DOLLAR!! It was fun to share, and I gave a bagful to each of my friends! And don't forget to put car wax on your windshield! Where's the info on Handy Farm's Red Walnuts?
Keep a small tea kettle on the stove at times to freshen your home and/or disipate recent cooking smells. Add 1/3 cup of Fabuloso purple floor cleaner (from DG) and fill with water. You will be amazed. Simmer 30 minutes ,,, Use your favorite house cleaning scents. Dryer sheets are not used up, throw that dryer sheet right in your underwear drawer as you put you laundry away. For you sons smelly tennis shoes: Never throw away those little silica packets away that come in many electronics packaging.They are there to collect moisture and fit nearly anywhere. Great video! another hack for making your candles last ( the ones in jars) use a 'coffee cup warmer' no need to light the candle, no fear of candle being knocked over with a burning flame, the heat from the warmer releases the scent from the candle.
What is a coffee cup warmer please? I live in Australia so it may be yet another product that's common to you in the USA that we either don't get here, or is hugely expensive. We don't have $1 shops here, but we do have what I refer to as 'cheap shops', but they certainly aren't as inexpensive as yours! We also find that you have a lot of products that we can source, but are either 10 times as much as you pay, or if we buy on Amazon the freight is hugely expensive. I think it must be due to the fact that you have such a high population - 10 times more than us, so compared to our 26 million population, it's huge.
Hello Natalee, I love all your videos. I kind of seen a friend clean her glass stove and I saw you were saying that tuff stain that doesn’t remove from yours- well I wanted to send you this HACK hope it works and you like it enough to try it out. Fill a spray bottle with a vinegar and label it clearly. Liberally sprinkle the surface of the glass stove top with the baking soda. Allow it to soak up any grease of spilled liquids on the cooktop for abut 5 to 10 minutes. Spray the vinegar onto the surface and let the two cleaners react. Once the bubbling has ceased, cover the baking soda and vinegar mix with a warm damp microfiber cloth. Let this sit for 10 to 15 minutes before removing and wiping away the mess. Finish up with a spritz of vinegar and buff the Whirlpool glass stove top dry. Hopefully this works for you. Thank you. 😉
Natalee, I love your stuff! My granny had beautiful walnut end tables. Everyone would leave drinks sitting and when I would come to clean there would be white rings. She liked good old fashioned lemon Pledge. I would saturate the rings with it and let it sit while I cleaned everything else. Dusting was the last thing I did and with a little elbow grease the rings would buff right out! I also use dryer sheets like everyone else has suggested, suitcase, storage bins, mattress, pillows, etc. I also fold one up and put it in the back of my mailbox to keep bugs from nesting. I also like to use a few in the trunk of my car, or a few drops of essential oil, or a fabric spray.

I love how you try to get some of the ladies not to be intimidated by power tools, you are so positive and a joy to watch, thank you again! I have a Kirby vacuum and to keep it smelling fresh, sense I have two German Shepard’s, I put dry sheets between the bags and/or I vacuum up a lid full of washer beads. Also, I use washer beads in my garbage cans. I take small ziploc bags and poke holes in them and put the washer beads in them and put them in the bottom of my garbage cans and laundry baskets. Hi Natalie. Love your channel. Not sure if you know but a lot of people have white vinyl fences that get green mold on it and it looks terrible. I use my miracle cleaner called Lysol bathroom cleaner. Spray on fence leave on for about 30 seconds. Get a bucket of water with large sponge. Dip sponge and wring out and scrub fence. It brings it back to New. Squirt off with water.
Alternatives - - Water rings on wood - use a steam iron on top of a towel so that the steam gets through the towel. Works wonders! - Large pieces of wooden furniture, especially if there's carving on it - When it needs a good polish with rub on wax, use a car polisher to buff off the wax - no effort, fast to do & leaves a lovely finish. I have a lot of wood furniture and use this every few months, especially great in a hot, humid climate. - Glass cooktop - Spray vinegar onto the cooktop, then sprinkle bicarb (baking soda) onto it ... this will fizz & do a terrific job ... otherwise, make a bicarb paste ... - Slatted Blinds - if large or very dirty, take down & put in the bath with a little dishwashing liquid. Tie onto the clothes line to dry. - Power Cords - Take a piece of velcro (I buy a 1/4" roll on ebay) staple one end around the actual end of the cord closest to the appliance, then leave enough length on the velcro to wrap around the cord when rolled up. Quick & easy! - Buttons - great for metal buttons that come off - use dental floss. - Fabric refresher - use a few capfuls of vodka, so only use a cheap vodka (this makes the oil mix in, or become more soluble with the water), a few drops of your favourite essential oil, then top with water. Use a fine mist spray bottle ... spray your fabrics, eg. drapes, sheets, etc. as it works just like any other scented spray that you buy. - You can also use this same mixture as above to freshen up any fabric drapes, couches &/or cushions you have in the house - to add to the ambiance of a room where you have faux flowers, you can spray them using a matching essential oil mixture as above. Even though I live in Australia I buy my oils from Piping Rock - my friends also love their oils after being converted by the quality of mine! I keep a spray bottle of rose water when I put fresh sheets on the bed, then I spray a few squirts of lavender water on my pillow at night before going to sleep. - To 'dust' faux flower arrangements, just put them under a soft shower, or the hose on a soft spray setting. - Stored Linen -towels, sheets, etc. Use the fabric softener sheets that you buy for clothes dryers, but just slip them between the linen in your closet. - OR if you use cakes of soap, put them in between your linen in the closet as they a) leave a nice scent, and b) the longer the soap is left in the closet, the harder it becomes so you don't get that 'jelly like' soap as soon as it gets wet or is left in the soap holder. Soap actually needs a LOT longer to dry out than they leave it when making it. You can also use up those small hotel sample size soaps ... ! - Garbage can - sprinkle a little bicarb (baking soda) in the bottom of you bin as it absorbs the smells - Line the bottom of your garbage can with a few sheets of newspaper to absorb any wet spills that may seep thorough the gargabe bag - I always keep my roll of bags at the bottom of the bin so that it's there when I change the bag - Carpet freshener - works well to freshen up your carpets too - just sprinkle onto your carpets, leave for 10 minutes, the vacuum ... - Refridgerator - keep half a cup of bi-carb in your fridge to absorb smells - Refridgerator - keep an egg cup of vanilla essence as it will also absorb the smells - Used dryer sheets can be soaked in water with a few drops of essential oil. Let dry then use instead of the new dryer sheets between linen, inside pillowslips, inside cushions, etc. ... - Add cloves into your lemon & herb boiling water - smells great for Christmas - Use bicarb in old socks & leave in smelly gym shoes - absorb the smells - use the rubber liner that comes on rolls to stop your cutlery tray from sliding around. Great to line the drawers with all of those knives, big spoons, etc. usually in the 2nd & 3rd drawers under the cutlery drawer. - Use a soft handled broom, or a mop to clean the bath if you have trouble bending over the clean it, especially after ann oil bath - Try adding coffee beans into a jar, then burning a wide candle inside the jar & the warmth of the candle will give off a lovely coffee scent.

Rub ammonia, or any ammonia based product e.g.,Windex, into a mosquito bite and the itch will be neutralized and it will not rebound 3 days later as it usually does. FLynn
I worked in a garment manufacturing company years ago and we would get a dress in here and there with a pen mark on it while being inspected. We always had a can of Aqua Net (any brand will do) around to spray on the pen mark on the garment. Just spray some on the pen mark and rub the material together until the ink mark is gone then rinse with water.
I just found your channel and loving it. I use my used dryer sheets and put the fabric softener beads in the sheet get rubber bands fold up add the bands to close and put them in my dresser drawers in my closet , shoes anywhere you want to really, I also use charcoal in the used dryer sheets Horticultural charcoal that I use in my house plants or backing soda its great in shoes. Unused coffee grounds also works great if you can't find the charcoal. Put a small amount in a nylon or sock. Lasts a long time. Works great to freshen up a mattress, sprinkle on and let it sit for a while. Great for pet areas. I did this for a washer and refrigerator and freezer that was in storage for 10 years. They were perfect.
Love all the home hacks, great idea compiling all the tips in one video! I’ll share a few of mine too. Make a quick funnel by cutting a water bottle in half. I have used Clorox clean-up on my grout. Spray in on, wait 10-15 minutes and simply wipe off. Grout looks brand new. (Of course mop the floor afterwards) I have a Shark steam mop btw that I love. It says use tap water but my water is so hard calcium crystals clogged it up. I took it apart and cleaned out all the little holes and now use only distilled water. For water stains I had great results using an oil. I had a plant on a little antique dresser and was horrified to see the water had spilled over from a few days earlier. Big white spot! I put some cooking oil over the area, rubbed it in some and left it on overnight. Next morning spot was gone and never returned! Thank you NataLee, you’re a joy! ❤️

I found that using a microfiber cloth & very little stainless steel cleaner will shine wood amazingly. Found it out by accident. I work for cleaning Co. 1 client wanted their desks so shiny, they could see reflection. I thought I picked up an aerosol glass cleaner to use, but it was actually stainless steel cleaner. I was shocked at how great it worked. Client called & said their desks & conference tables have never looked better. 😊
36:32 Hack 26 There is another trick to keeping your strawberries longer I don't remember which channel I was watching however it is washing them with water and making a mixture from water vinegar and slowly adding baking powder and you soak them in there for about 10 minutes when you wash them off really well if you have a salad spinner you just put the strawberries inside the spinner line with a paper towel and gently remove all the water from the strawberries and they will last up to 15 days in your refrigerator it removes all mold bacteria and other unwanted things on your strawberries

I enjoyed the various hacks displayed today. Huggies Baby Wipes can be used to clean your keyboard in laptops or desk tops. It cleans off dust and grease on kitchen appliances, stove knobs etc. Hand sanitizer is just as good for cleaning wood, it also removes stubborn dirt from surfaces by squeezing some on a soft cloth and wiping the area.
Thanks for hacks.. Shaving cream cleaning hack was used in the 60 & 70s to clean upholster furniture, by my BF mom and mine too.. Mom would do this too, with cloth around broom to dust walls, when her mop top was drying... 50/50, Fabric/ water, love this combo, GREAT FOR PET AREA TOO,ESPECIALLY IF THEY ON YOUR FURNITURE..AND MY VET RECOMMENDED THIS TO A FRIEND YEARS AGO..INSTEAD 20% F/SOFTENER, 80%WATER...

Hi Natalie, regarding hack # 3, Febreze fabric refresher will also work on strong odors. My rental car smelled like a cigarette factory. I sprayed Febreze generously on front & back seats. I let the seats dry for 30 minutes. The car & seats smelled great. Also great on pet beds.
My hack for a stinky thermos is 1 party bleach and 3 parts water. I've also done the same with Pinalen or Fabuloso. Thank you so much for the hacks. Your eyebrows are everything!
I love watching you . I'm a senior and have Rescue Afghans, and a Great Pyrenees. Your fabric softener h ack is great I will Use trying it. I have a liquid fabric hack that I have used for over 15 years , this is for removing knotted hair that happens with your dogs. You dilute your softener with water 60 % water 40 % softener. Mix in a fine mist squirt bottle, spray lightly on the hair knot, using your fingers at first work into the hair knot then use a brush to comb out this will remove the knot to avoid from cutting it out.
Please read. I have a brother-in-law that is a heart patient and is on blood thinners. Awhile back a ambulance attendant had to start a IV on him. My sister has white berber carpet. The attendant handed my sister a bag of Saline solution. Of course she went to the hospital and didn't get to the carpet for a couple of days. It took it out. I have a grandson that lives with me and has BAD nose bleeds, he also is in high school wrestling......went to Walmart and got a bottle of Saline nasal spray and used it numerous times on his clothes, bedding and wrestling outfit. It has never failed me yet! Hope this helps someone that deals with bloody noses.

I use peroxide. Anything biological. Drench the stains and let it oxidize. It will foam up and you can wipe away. You may need to repeat and it takes a lot but it's cheap and the waiting is the hardest part. Additionally, there is a pet stain solution called furry freshness that is a bit more effective than peroxide alone. And with bloody thinners there are often cumulative or reoccurring stains. Furry freshness has a subscription plan and a fun sprayer you can attach to the one gallon bottle. It's the best thing that has ever happened to me as a cleaner
Regis Phibin once mentioned on his and Kathy Lee’s show that saliva takes blood out of clothes, yea I said saliva! He said he was told to lick the spot of blood he had on his sleeve cuff and it came out…there ya go, thanks, Regis, RIP❤
I cannot imagine most of these hacks working. Getting carpet to stay flat, by using a hair dryer? Getting candle wax off carpet by ironing the wax up using a brown med thick paper to absorb the wax.... hmm. If not very much wax there, and if it hasn't completely dried, maybe. Several other hacks, I see being minimally effective. But, kind of you to just pass along.

I seen your hack with removing candle wax from your carpet. I've had this happen but what I've always done was take old rags, place a rag over the wax and then place wax paper over the rag and use your iron to pull the wax up outta your carpet. Has always worked great for me.
I’ve used an old damp rag and covered the wax and then ironed. Not sure if damp or dry is better but it made my carpet even fluffier! Just in that one spot I spilled waxy now. 🤷🏻♀️Lol
@@J-Bird88 I'd suggest that the rag would be better because you are basically only melting the wax & it wicks back up into the fabric & paper ... but the fabric would draw up most, with the paper taking up the residual. The paper is just to absorb the extra wax that comes up off the fabric. I'd use the paper after the fabric instead of on top of it because it will pick up the lessor residual amount left over.
I use quite a few of these. But many I did not know. You need to do a list that we can print out! I have two hacks I use that came compliments of Liz Fenwick. When hanging wall art on a nail run a fork down on the nail handle pointing towards the ceiling. Then you can easily tell where your nail is. The next one is to remove a scratch on your hardwood floor. Take a walnut ( before you candy them all! Lol) and rub the scratch with the meaty part of the nut. I have used both and they really work. I use foil balled up for my outdoor grill! Also you could put hot glue in stripped screw heads to create a better grab! Thanks for sharing all these tips!!
Also for a strip screw you can take toothpicks and break it off in the hole as many as you can fit. Depending on size of void you can add drops of wood glue or school Elmer's to hold firm. (Or any little pieces of wood) this will make the screw push in and expand those pieces therefore filling the stripped area and giving a secure grip.
I want to thank you for the essential oil and vacuum filter hack. My vacuum has been smelling like wet dog for the past few months (we have 4 large dogs) and I haven’t figured out how to fix that problem yet. I put six drops of one of my essential oils on the filter and poof the scent was gone. Thank you so very much. Also, I wanted to give you a little hack for dispensing essential oils out of those bottles. If you look inside the bottle there should be a little hole on one of the sides. If you have that whole facing up as you’re trying to dispense the oil it will drip out faster and easier without shaking the bottle. Hope that helps :)
Have a couple for you if you haven’t heard of them. 1 You posted when removing a nail to fill with tooth paste. What I use is a bar of white soap, rub over hole and it disappears. 2. glass cleaner, bucket with warm water, add a few drops of dawn detergent, swish around just a little, then I use a plastic scrubby to wash window, then use a squeegee to remove cleaner, wiping squeegee, as you go along using your dollar store cloth. This is what professionals use, great for sliding doors showers etc. They come out so nice no streaks, I even have had birds fly into sliding doors which of course is not so good😳. Side note you have to use a squeegee not just a cloth to wipe windows down. Give it a try, glad I found your hacks thank you! Patty Brown
Rubbing alcohol removes permanent marker from a lot of surfaces! Also, fume free oven cleaner is a great grease remover, it also removes built up wax on older floors (does anyone wax floors anymore?). Love your hacks, so many I didn’t know.
Personally, when it comes to oven cleaner, I don't use it for anything the product label doesn't say to. Besides, even if you can't smell the fumes, doesn't mean it's not giving off harmful fumes or won't harm any person (or pet) walking on the surface with bare feet.
I have the same set in my bathroom and I use liquid gold and it works wonderful. It makes your dark finish shine just like brand new and I do that every other day or so to see that there is no hard water spots and it just takes a minute or two. Thank you.
Wow, I wish I had a list I could print out of all of the hacks. So many to remember and all great ones. And ...... Here's one for you !! . I grew up working in a grocery store and we had to wear red smocks (kinda of a jacket). We would put our ink pens in our smock / jacket pockets and get ink stains on them. So the trick is before you throw them in the wash (this works on regular clothes too) you spray the ink stain / mark with hair spray (pump or aresole) and Wala !!, when they come out of the washer, the ink stain is gone. Milk also works. Just put the milk and ink covered item together in a container. I used this when my teacher husband came home with ink on one of his shirts.

cut pieces of zest bar soap or any nice smelling soap to put in your drawers, shoes, gym bag, and other places to make it smell great. Also, zest keeps mice out of your drawers. Not sure if other soaps work but I'm sure they would. Also the *dark blue* Lysol toilet cleaner you use for the grout.. that stuff is amazing for that orange staining in washers, tubs, toilets, sinks, and stained items from well water. Cover the staining and let it sit about 10 - 20 minutes, then scrub it with a brush, rag, or sponge, then rinse. Same toilet cleaner cleans tarnish from silver. I used it on a very old Stirling silver platter that was black, brown, orange, and all types of colors from tarnish. I had never seen it's beauty being silver. Looked brand new afterwards. Cover with a good layer, let sit anywhere between 10 - 30 minutes, scrub with an abrasive sponge or something similar (but nothing that will scratch the silver real bad). After sitting, it turns from a minty smell to a sulfur smell which is weird, but once you start scrubbing that tarnish away, the results are well worth it. Newspaper to clean mirrors and glass with Windex doesn't leave streaks or fuzz residue behind. A decorative air freshener my ex mother in law taught me.. get a medium sized vase, strand of Christmas lights that only has like 20 lights on it, and potpourri. Start putting the Christmas lights in the bottom of the vase as you add potpourri. Try working the lights all along the edge of the vase so that some of the lights can be seen from the outside. Keep doing this until all the lights are in the vase and all throughout the potpourri, around the edges, through the middle, and back again. Leave the plug out in the back (creative additions can cover the cord coming out the top). Tie a ribbon around the vase and plug it in. The lights get warm while they're on which causes the potpourri to release fragrance. I like to get potpourri that is unscented and add my own fragrance like essential oils. Other stuff can be used besides potpourri.. ribbons, artificial flowers, feathers, things made of wood, the sky is the limit. Been doin this for years.
Two hacks: pledge. After washing your rims on your car, spray them with pledge and buff in. It keeps them from having brake dust collect and they stay clean so much longer. Second, baking soda and peroxide will clean white counter tops with stains, porcelain sinks and showers. I’ll spray peroxide then sprinkle the barking soda. You may consider spraying more peroxide on it and create a paste. Rub in with your hands. It will make an old tub or sink look brand new!!!
By the way, this is a really great list!!! I especially appreciate that it’s not full of useless information that doesn’t really work. I also appreciate that you’ve taken the time to try out the hacks that you weren’t already familiar with to attest that they work.
I’ve used Windex for all carpet stains for years! A friend worked at a carpet store and Windex was their go-to for cleaning their carpets. She made me a believer when she cleaned an old red Kool Aid stain from white carpet in my home (previous owner had a toddler)! I use it on carpet in my car, too. ❤️ Oh! I spray cornstarch with my favorite perfume and sprinkle it on my bedsheets when I change our bedding. Dollar Tree sells glass grated cheese shakers that work great for this. I slip a piece of cling wrap under the lid before screwing it down to keep the scent fresh/cornstarch soft.
Hi NataLee. 👋 Love your videos! I bought a really good heavy duty handle toilet bowl brush that I use only to clean the garbage disposal. You can get great leverage cleaning under the rubber fins and going deep into the unit without getting all that yucky black stuff on you. I used a plastic key tag attached to the hole in the handle marked "garbage disposal" and keep it under the kitchen sink.
Brilliant!! I will definitely be doing this. I use cut up lemons and disposal cleaners but they don’t get that rubber drain clean. In my last house that part was removable and very easy to keep clean. This one has driven me crazy because it is not and I’m never able to clean it properly. Thanks so much for sharing.
@@leighaynsilvey852 I literally replaced my disposal for this reason. That thing should be removable even for safety reasons, if something fell in there we need to easily see with a flashlight. I continue to be annoyed that they make some of them with those things in there permanently!
I wash my windows and mirrors with dawn dish soap and water, the same dilution as for washing dishes. Wash with a microfiber cloth and dry with a good lint-free towel that has not been washed with fabric softener for no streaks! I'll have to try the Lysol for the fog! Hi Natalee, I often see you using Rub ‘n’ Buff for your DIY’s. In Australia its $15 for a small tube I saw a hack recently to use Kiwi Boot Polish in Tan or Natural and mixCraft Perfect Pearls Metallic Gold Powder. Mix small quantities of each. Powders come in all sorts of colours for different effects. I make my own Carnauba and Beeswax Paste Wax for my diy furniture I Chalkpaint and so going to try mixing Gold Powder with that. Unfortunately I cannot remember where I originally saw hack.
I ended up buying a tube of Rub 'n Buff & Yes, it cost a fortune! esp. with postage on such a small packet! I'm also an Aussie. It's like buying the Renyolds paper for sewing .. cheap in USA but cost me a fortune for what they buy in the cooking aisle! Even the Isopropol alcohol was almost $10 for about 200mls & they say to use a cup of it for some things! I don't understand why things cost us so much here ... :(
Love your “hacks” videos! I have one safety hack to suggest. If you use metal kitchen tongs to lift melted candle holders out of simmering water, do this: wrap a rubber band around the ends of your tongs in a criss-cross fashion. This will give extra grip to safely lift out those hot items. I also use this trick to lift boiled eggs out of my Instant Pot.

I use laundry beads to make my dryer fabric softener. Reusable container-1/2 water, 1/2 vinegar, laundry scent beads to desired smell. Let them dissolve and put a couple dollar store facecloths in the container. Remove one and lightly squeeze out the liquid and toss in the dryer with your wet clothes. Saved me hundreds of dollars. 😃
Rather than furniture polish I’d use stainless steel cleaner on your shower doors and mirrors it will keep your mirrors from fogging up😊 if that doesn’t work for you and you live in a area that is very humid use shaving cream 😊has worked for me for years! I LOVE all you nifty hacks that I have never heard of before thanks so much and keep finding us more useful hacks❤
You probably already know this, but to get sharpie off a wall or piece of furniture just spray on some hairspray and wash off with a clean cloth. You might have to spray a couple of times, but this was a life saver for my “artistic “ child. It doesn’t work as well for surfaces that are a matte finish but it does help a little.
Yess I used to work in the cafeteria of an elementary and the kids would get marker and crayons and pencils I would use hand sanitizer to get it off the lunch tables

I love all your genius home hacks, especially because you are so amazing with your voice, smile, and facial expression. If you were not the person I just mentioned I wouldn't stay watching you teaching 50 genius home hacks till the end. Another thing that you maybe can use next time. Sometimes my carpet gets dirty with a little black spot from makeup and I use makeup remover cleansing towelettes and works perfectly. Thank you so much for sharing your genial ideas.
2 quickies. 1. I clean my coffee maker about once/month with a white vinegar solution. Then, I use the hot solution and some backing soda to clean my drains. Just pour about 1/3 or 1/2 c baking soda into each side of the drain (usually the cross hairs will hold it) and pour the solution over the baking soda. I use the hot water from the rinses similarly to clean my bathroom drains--sink, tub, and shower. 2. 1 tsp of white vinegar in a qt of water makes an excellent glass cleaner. Just spray and wipe. Rubbing alcohol in water is also a great glass cleaner.
❤omg I started mixing Downey & distilled water way back when Febreeze had a vanilla/lavender scent. But, they took it off the shelf when they hooked up with Downey, so, started mixing the replica of the spray, Downey with water, I replaced febreeze, plus it made a great wrinkle remover! They did away with that scent, but, my new fav., is the one you used, the Peony!!! Just love it! And, don't let anyone get you down! Us old gals, love whatever you have, to teach us! I used to clean houses, & this woman only wanted the house cleaned with just water? No one was sick, it's just a fad., anyway I couldn't do it, if the house still smells like your stinky, pungent, husbands body odor, which the house reeked of, well I can't put my stamp on it! Small community, & if her house still smelled bad even with a housekeeper, not good for business! 😅
Tip: I use hair spray to remove ink and make up out of clothes. Use a few paper towels folded underneath and spray on top. Blot with a clean paper towel. Keep replacing papers towels until stain is gone. I used to use this tip when cleaning costumes in our theater group in high school.

Just thought about Dawn Powerwash when I saw the Cabinet hack...I love the stuff, bought some for my daughter to try and she was cleaning her cabinets she said she sprayed on the powerwash and let it sit a few minutes and like magic a years worth of grease and buildup wiped right off with a damp cloth!
I love that stuff! You know you can make the refill yourself. I fill the bottle about halfway with Dawn then add a few tablespoons of 96% alcohol and the rest is water. I didn't think it was that simple but I've refilled about 6 times now.
Peppermint Oil and Lavender Oil are my two main additives for cleaners around the house. Peppermint oil added to the cleaning solution for floors will help keep spiders out of my house. For this solution I mix a few drops of Dawn dishwashing detergent, 1/4 cup vinegar, 2 gallons water along with the peppermint oil. This leaves the house smelling fresh. Now I'm ready to try some of the new things I learned from you today. Thank you for all the wonderful hacks.

Don't throw away the old wax from your wax warmer. Instead, put it back in the container or old ice tray . Also, you could put them in between your clothes so they smell good.
Keep old toilet paper rolls and cut them to use as a way to hold wrapping paper from unraveling or instead of taping the paper and wasting. Wider than one roll - tape two together
You can also use a brown paper bag or even newspaper to get the wax out of the carpet. 🥰
Here's another candle hack. Don't blow out a candle until the wax has totally liquefied across the top of the candle - from one side to the other. The candle will burn better and properly if you wait until the entire surface is melted before putting the flame out. Works really well!
I like to put my sheets on my bed when they are wet. I just put them on my bed straight from the washing machine. When they dry on the bed they are so crisp and no wrinkles. I just love crawling into bed to such crisp sheets!
OMG seeing you dust with the broom brought back memories. My grandma raised me. She always put a cloth around a broom and dusted walls with her apron and bonnet on. She was born in 1901 and lived 95 yrs so I got to keep her awhile. Thanks
my mum also used that .. she also used the broom with an old towel for the floor for spills or a quick rinse mopping

Here’s my grated cheese hack! When you buy a block of cheese and you want to grate your own (I like to grate my own Mexican blend😬), grate as much as you want, put a teaspoon/tablespoon of cornstarch (depending on how much you grated) shake the bag to coat and store in the freezer for long term! Take out as much or little as you need! The cornstarch keeps it from clumping into a hard frozen ball. Much better than the cellulose they use in the commercial bag of shredded cheese!

For your strawberry hack, it sounds really great, however, while working in a grocery store, I learned that when you wash your strawberries they absorb water and this will make them spoil faster. I would like to suggest that you wait until you are ready to eat the strawberries to wash them. :)
Yes, I agree about the strawberries. My cousin was a PhD in foods and she said we should never wash strawberries until we are ready to serve them because they spoil extremely quickly.

For me, I have found that if I soak for 5 minutes in 1/2 Apple Cider Vinegar and 1/2 water, then rinse and put in a glass jar in the fridge, they last over a week. If I wait, they rarely last 2 days

Great hacks. Mine is pinning a dryer sheet to my shirt when I garden. It keeps bees away, which is good for me since I'm allergic.
This may not be a true hack, but I love it: Save Your Bread Tags!!!! I use them as disposable scrapers for just about anything that needs scraping: pans particularly after eggs for instance where the stuff ruins your scrubby, blobs on floors, a quick scrape along the inside of your dishwasher door, marks on floors that your mop can't get, spacers for whatevers, cleaning your fridge and freezer door, and a million other quickies where you can toss it after.
You can also use them on hangers to mark items, just below the hook, I put them the tags. You can use them on your plants to mark them in the garden. Or if your on vacation, mark which house plants to water and when 1/2/3. I save all mine to reuse, a ton of different ways.
Great video Natalee! One of my all time favorite cleaning hacks is for shower doors and nasty, cloudy hard water stains and cloudiness. This hack is especially use for hard water stains on the older, texture type of shower doors. All you need to do is put some lemon oil on a soft rag and wipe down the door. It completely takes away the cloudiness and water stains in an instant. It also helps to repel the water thus making the time between cleans longer. I have been using this hack for over twenty years. I remember being blown away the first time I used this on a textured shower door all those years ago. Just adds that finishing touch to make your bathroom look super clean. Hope you enjoy. I keep a bottle of vinegar and water 1:1 spray the glass doors and tile, squeegee itoff and voila!
I got black permanent marker marks on my white bedspread. I had heard that hairspray gets ink off and I know it works because my grandson took apart an ink pen and it leaked. He got handprints of ink on the wall and ink spots from pens on the carpet. I sprayed the ink spots with hairspray and blotted with a clean rag. It really was amazing how well it cleaned that ink completely out of the carpet-so I decided to try the hairspray on the permanent marker marks on my white bedspread. It worked!!! Wash with regular laundry soap or wool it’s after all of the ink has been rubbed off!
On your laundry sheets in your pillowcases, not only does it make them smell great, but I've done this forever because it rids your pillows of dustmites. For anyone with allergies this is ideal! Win Win
You have some great hacks. I have one which probably everyone has heard of it or did it. When I dust, I use an old sock. Keeps you hands clean and you can get in to some areas where using a plain dust rag won't get in to. So do not throw out socks where you may have lost one or they may have a hole in them. Now to do ceiling fans with your sock, you can cut off the other end, then put the blade through the sock and then when you pull the sock off the dust stays inside the sock,. I hope that made sense.
You can also use a pillowcase on the end of a broom, then you can slip the open end of the pillowcase inside the blade, then it will leave the dust inside the pillowcase when you remove it.
I also use socks for wiping down all sorts of surfaces as I find them so much more convenient to use and I can get into all the nooks & crannies with them, especially when dusting regular furniture. I use one sock with the wax or spray polish taking off the dust, then buff it off with the sock on the other hand.
However, living in the sub-tropics, I have some large pieces of wood furniture that needs a pick-me-up to return it to life every 6 months or so, so I wipe on furniture wax, then buff it off with a car polisher. I bought a used one ... that actually has a toweling cover for the pad for putting the wax on, then a sheepskin pad to buff it off. It works brilliantly because it also buffs the carved parts as well.
I use an old pillow case.. slide the blade right inside the pillowcase and all that dust is trapped inside until you wash it.. turn inside out and shake it outside before you wash

My second daughter actually drew the cutest little pic on her bedroom wall so I just bought a cheap picture frame and hung it around the drawing for a few years. I also gifted her a drawing pad and we talked about not doing that anymore. Amazingly she didn’t.

I have spent HOURS AND HOURS scrubbing grout, trying different products, trying “helpful hacks”, and
remained unsatisfied with the results every single time. Then, awhile ago you showed your helpful hint utilizing toilet bowl cleaner. I happened to be giving my bathroom a deep clean at the time and was listening to RUclips videos as I cleaned. I have a shower area that is tons of tile and has been a pain to clean every time I tackle it. So, I figured it couldn’t hurt to try one more suggestion (yours), got the toilet bowl cleaner and applied it , then used a toothbrush to lightly scrub the treated grout. Then I used my hand held shower head to spray the area and wash it clean. My shower looked brand new. I was dumbfounded that it worked and worked easily. I have spent so much time scrubbing grout over the last 30 years in our home and spent hours thinking about the fact that I had to face that job once again. This idea was a breeze and worked so well. I’m still celebrating the fact that I will no longer have to slave all day cleaning grout in this house. Just an amazing hack. I’m sincerely saying thank you!!🙂

About using essential oils in the first hack ... I use the in-wash scented booster beads. By adding just a few of the beads, a light scent comes through while vacuuming. The beads are a considerably less expensive option than using essential oils. Happy vacuuming!
Use Rain-x on glass shower doors and the black faucets to stop hard water stains from showing. Love the hacks!

The fabric softener mix for your sheets also works for when you don't get your clothes out of the dryer when it goes off and they're wrinkled. I will lightly spray the wrinkled articles of clothing, put them back in the dryer and turn it back on for about 15 minutes. Also I know sometimes we forget we have a load in the washer, it smells musty/sour and it has to be rewashed. Add a cup of regular white vinegar with just a little laundry soap and wash again. This works for towels that get musty over time as well. Vinegar is antimicrobial so it does wonders.
You can just toss in a wet face cloth or bath towel, depending upon how much is in the washing, into the clothes dryer to remove the wrinkles if left after they have cooled down. :)
That’s all I use for fabric softener now for the past 6 years.. saves your washing machine as well my service guy said
Vinegar is wonderful and safe...have a spray bottle with one third vinegar and two thirds water...you can safely wipe your countertop down and rinse off produce from the store...as well as laundry use..

Take an airtight container that’s kind of cute ! I use an oxox one , place 4 or more ( 4 fit in mine ) dollar store sponges and water about half way filled and a little bit of your favorite fabric softener maybe 80/20 not too much fabric softener!
Throw one or two in dryer instead of sheets !
Works same just throw them back in container!
I do squeeze excess fluid out before placing in dryer!
At some point I clean the solution out and replace ! I have not purchased dryer sheets for over a year
I really love beautiful smells too but people need to catch up and learn how harmful these “popular” cleaners and scents really are . They are sooo damaging to our health. Not just mildly so either. Downy, scented aline Sol, Mrs Meyers and Method ARE NOT your friends and certainly not good for our health. The best scent here was the natural home made one with the lemon and rosemary. Stick to those those and maybe just a few of the essential oil based ones. Forget things like the Downy beads no matter how clean smelling they may seem. Long term, they are dangerous.
I just wanted to mention that I have been doing the softener and the spray bottle with water trick for a couple years now. It's an amazing idea! You can also missed your carpet with it let it dry I use an old Febreze bottle and then vacuum and your carpet is so soft and it pulls oils and dirt about your carpet and it stays beautiful for much longer. Unfortunately I live in an apartment and my carpets fairly old and since I've been doing those people think that I've had new carpet installed. I love your channel I happened onto it tonight. And I subscribed. It's amazing how many things that I actually do and how many I've learned. Thank you love your channel.

You can also sprinkle bicarb of soda (baking soda) on your carpets and leave for 10 minutes, or longer if you can ... and then vacuum. I also make up house/air freshener sprays using a couple of cap fulls of vodak & a few drops of essential oil, whatever type you like. The vodka disolves the oil, so then, into a fine spray/mist bottle, you add water. This works well to leave a longer lasting scent in the carpet than the conditioner perfume because as the vodka & water dry out, the essential oil remains, but only in very tiny molecules.
Love love love the hacks. I did see a few that I use. And a few versions of things I use. As to your hack about keeping the mirrors and windows from fogging over. I use rain-x. However, I used shaving cream in the past and buffed it out like you did the car wax. Also to keep my shower looking clean and newer longer, I use a squeegee to remove the water after a shower, and then every third or fourth shower I apply fresh rain-x there as well In addition I have a hack for your washing machine. Over time, the tub of the washer gets a buildup of hard water and oils and I don't know what else, but it can really smell unpleasant, the dishwasher as well. So... Take about three lemons. Cut them into quarters. gently squeeze them inside the machine, and then leave the lemons inside and run the machine through a complete cycle. don't worry about rinsing afterward, just remove whatever is left of the fruit after it has finished. the machine will not only smell better but work more efficiently having some of the buildup removed.
To resew on buttons with white thread, use white dental floss instead. It's super strong!
To take sharpie marker off glass items (especially prices marked on thrift finds), use a magic eraser. They come right off. I also use the magic eraser on the unfinished rims at the bottom of pitchers, creamers, crocks, etc that gets really dirty at thrift stores. They come out completely clean.
For #28 the garbage can hack, I put old newspapers or advertisements in the bottom of the can and drop essential oils onto it and for the cover of the can, I use those adhesive felt circles you place under furniture to protect the furniture/floor. I drop essential oils onto the felt circles and it gives a nice scent when you put your trash in the can. I replace both the newspaper and felt circles as needed.

As for dryer sheets
Put them in suitcases that your not using. It will keep them from being musty. Put them in drawers to make them smell nice. Put them between your mattress and box spring and you will not have any critters in your mattress. Put into a cedar chest or a storage bench. It will keep things inside smelling nice

I've got 3 hacks and a suggestion. 1. Use a lint roller to "dust" your lamp shades. Running a lint roller over your lamp shades will pick up lots of dust that's settled on the shade. This way, you're pulling dust off the shade and not pushing it into the shade material that will happen when you use a duster or any product that touches the lamp shade.
2. You can also use a lint roller to go over your screens. You'll be surprised at all the dirt and pollen that has stuck to the screens. Using your hose to wash the outside of your windows will wash the screens from the outside, but there is dirt, and especially pollen, that continues to cling to the inside of the screen. For people with allergies, this will help to reduce the amount of pollen that aggravates so many of us.
3. I spray hydrogen peroxide on all my glass lids and then dust with baking soda. We leave our iron skillet with a glass lid on the stove all the time, and it gets caked with grease. This cuts the grease so well that all I have to do is wipe it off with a damp sponge. Then wash as normal and it's sparkling clean.
Magic Erasers are made of melamine foam. I recently purchased 100 pads of melamine foam on eBay for $1.00! Yes, ONE DOLLAR!! It was fun to share, and I gave a bagful to each of my friends!
And don't forget to put car wax on your windshield!

Keep a small tea kettle on the stove at times to freshen your home and/or disipate recent cooking smells. Add 1/3 cup of Fabuloso purple floor cleaner (from DG) and fill with water. You will be amazed. Simmer 30 minutes ,,, Use your favorite house cleaning scents.
Dryer sheets are not used up, throw that dryer sheet right in your underwear drawer as you put you laundry away.
For you sons smelly tennis shoes: Never throw away those little silica packets away that come in many electronics packaging.They are there to collect moisture and fit nearly anywhere. Great job, Keep em coming.
Great video! another hack for making your candles last ( the ones in jars) use a 'coffee cup warmer' no need to light the candle, no fear of candle being knocked over with a burning flame, the heat from the warmer releases the scent from the candle.
What is a coffee cup warmer please? I live in Australia so it may be yet another product that's common to you in the USA that we either don't get here, or is hugely expensive. We don't have $1 shops here, but we do have what I refer to as 'cheap shops', but they certainly aren't as inexpensive as yours! We also find that you have a lot of products that we can source, but are either 10 times as much as you pay, or if we buy on Amazon the freight is hugely expensive. I think it must be due to the fact that you have such a high population - 10 times more than us, so compared to our 26 million population, it's huge.

I kind of seen a friend clean her glass stove and I saw you were saying that tuff stain that doesn’t remove from yours- well I wanted to send you this HACK hope it works and you like it enough to try it out.
Fill a spray bottle with a vinegar and label it clearly. Liberally sprinkle the surface of the glass stove top with the baking soda. Allow it to soak up any grease of spilled liquids on the cooktop for abut 5 to 10 minutes. Spray the vinegar onto the surface and let the two cleaners react.
Once the bubbling has ceased, cover the baking soda and vinegar mix with a warm damp microfiber cloth. Let this sit for 10 to 15 minutes before removing and wiping away the mess. Finish up with a spritz of vinegar and buff the Whirlpool glass stove top dry. Hopefully this works for you.

Natalee, I love your stuff! My granny had beautiful walnut end tables. Everyone would leave drinks sitting and when I would come to clean there would be white rings. She liked good old fashioned lemon Pledge. I would saturate the rings with it and let it sit while I cleaned everything else. Dusting was the last thing I did and with a little elbow grease the rings would buff right out! I also use dryer sheets like everyone else has suggested, suitcase, storage bins, mattress, pillows, etc. I also fold one up and put it in the back of my mailbox to keep bugs from nesting. I also like to use a few in the trunk of my car, or a few drops of essential oil, or a fabric spray.

I have a Kirby vacuum and to keep it smelling fresh, sense I have two German Shepard’s, I put dry sheets between the bags and/or I vacuum up a lid full of washer beads.
Also, I use washer beads in my garbage cans. I take small ziploc bags and poke holes in them and put the washer beads in them and put them in the bottom of my garbage cans and laundry baskets.

Hi Natalie. Love your channel. Not sure if you know but a lot of people have white vinyl fences that get green mold on it and it looks terrible. I use my miracle cleaner called Lysol bathroom cleaner. Spray on fence leave on for about 30 seconds. Get a bucket of water with large sponge. Dip sponge and wring out and scrub fence. It brings it back to New. Squirt off with water.
Alternatives -
- Water rings on wood - use a steam iron on top of a towel so that the steam gets through the towel. Works wonders!
- Large pieces of wooden furniture, especially if there's carving on it - When it needs a good polish with rub on wax, use a car polisher to buff off the wax - no effort, fast to do & leaves a lovely finish. I have a lot of wood furniture and use this every few months, especially great in a hot, humid climate.
- Glass cooktop - Spray vinegar onto the cooktop, then sprinkle bicarb (baking soda) onto it ... this will fizz & do a terrific job ... otherwise, make a bicarb paste ...
- Slatted Blinds - if large or very dirty, take down & put in the bath with a little dishwashing liquid. Tie onto the clothes line to dry.
- Power Cords - Take a piece of velcro (I buy a 1/4" roll on ebay) staple one end around the actual end of the cord closest to the appliance, then leave enough length on the velcro to wrap around the cord when rolled up. Quick & easy!
- Buttons - great for metal buttons that come off - use dental floss.
- Fabric refresher - use a few capfuls of vodka, so only use a cheap vodka (this makes the oil mix in, or become more soluble with the water), a few drops of your favourite essential oil, then top with water. Use a fine mist spray bottle ... spray your fabrics, eg. drapes, sheets, etc. as it works just like any other scented spray that you buy.
- You can also use this same mixture as above to freshen up any fabric drapes, couches &/or cushions you have in the house
- to add to the ambiance of a room where you have faux flowers, you can spray them using a matching essential oil mixture as above. Even though I live in Australia I buy my oils from Piping Rock - my friends also love their oils after being converted by the quality of mine! I keep a spray bottle of rose water when I put fresh sheets on the bed, then I spray a few squirts of lavender water on my pillow at night before going to sleep.
- To 'dust' faux flower arrangements, just put them under a soft shower, or the hose on a soft spray setting.
- Stored Linen -towels, sheets, etc. Use the fabric softener sheets that you buy for clothes dryers, but just slip them between the linen in your closet.
- OR if you use cakes of soap, put them in between your linen in the closet as they a) leave a nice scent, and b) the longer the soap is left in the closet, the harder it becomes so you don't get that 'jelly like' soap as soon as it gets wet or is left in the soap holder. Soap actually needs a LOT longer to dry out than they leave it when making it. You can also use up those small hotel sample size soaps ... !
- Garbage can - sprinkle a little bicarb (baking soda) in the bottom of you bin as it absorbs the smells
- Line the bottom of your garbage can with a few sheets of newspaper to absorb any wet spills that may seep thorough the gargabe bag - I always keep my roll of bags at the bottom of the bin so that it's there when I change the bag
- Carpet freshener - works well to freshen up your carpets too - just sprinkle onto your carpets, leave for 10 minutes, the vacuum ...
- Refridgerator - keep half a cup of bi-carb in your fridge to absorb smells
- Refridgerator - keep an egg cup of vanilla essence as it will also absorb the smells
- Used dryer sheets can be soaked in water with a few drops of essential oil. Let dry then use instead of the new dryer sheets between linen, inside pillowslips, inside cushions, etc. ...
- Add cloves into your lemon & herb boiling water - smells great for Christmas
- Use bicarb in old socks & leave in smelly gym shoes - absorb the smells
- use the rubber liner that comes on rolls to stop your cutlery tray from sliding around. Great to line the drawers with all of those knives, big spoons, etc. usually in the 2nd & 3rd drawers under the cutlery drawer.
- Use a soft handled broom, or a mop to clean the bath if you have trouble bending over the clean it, especially after ann oil bath
- Try adding coffee beans into a jar, then burning a wide candle inside the jar & the warmth of the candle will give off a lovely coffee scent.

Rub ammonia, or any ammonia based product e.g.,Windex, into a mosquito bite and the itch will be neutralized and it will not rebound 3 days later as it usually does. FLynn
I worked in a garment manufacturing company years ago and we would get a dress in here and there with a pen mark on it while being inspected. We always had a can of Aqua Net (any brand will do) around to spray on the pen mark on the garment. Just spray some on the pen mark and rub the material together until the ink mark is gone then rinse with water.
If you get an organic stain on fabric spray it with hydrogen peroxide rub it in let it sit , launder and Voila stain disappears.
It does work. 👍
I just found your channel and loving it. I use my used dryer sheets and put the fabric softener beads in the sheet get rubber bands fold up add the bands to close and put them in my dresser drawers in my closet , shoes anywhere you want to really, I also use charcoal in the used dryer sheets Horticultural charcoal that I use in my house plants or backing soda its great in shoes. Unused coffee grounds also works great if you can't find the charcoal. Put a small amount in a nylon or sock. Lasts a long time. Works great to freshen up a mattress, sprinkle on and let it sit for a while. Great for pet areas. I did this for a washer and refrigerator and freezer that was in storage for 10 years. They were perfect.
Love all the home hacks, great idea compiling all the tips in one video! I’ll share a few of mine too. Make a quick funnel by cutting a water bottle in half. I have used Clorox clean-up on my grout. Spray in on, wait 10-15 minutes and simply wipe off. Grout looks brand new. (Of course mop the floor afterwards) I have a Shark steam mop btw that I love. It says use tap water but my water is so hard calcium crystals clogged it up. I took it apart and cleaned out all the little holes and now use only distilled water. For water stains I had great results using an oil. I had a plant on a little antique dresser and was horrified to see the water had spilled over from a few days earlier. Big white spot! I put some cooking oil over the area, rubbed it in some and left it on overnight. Next morning spot was gone and never returned! Thank you NataLee, you’re a joy! ❤️

Carpet stain hack that changed my life: steam iron, 3 wet white shop towels- lifted an entire can of orange soda out of my cream color carpet and padding a week after trying many other methods. It’s been 14 years and I haven’t seen a sign of it since! The shop towels however were goners ;
I found that using a microfiber cloth & very little stainless steel cleaner will shine wood amazingly. Found it out by accident. I work for cleaning Co. 1 client wanted their desks so shiny, they could see reflection. I thought I picked up an aerosol glass cleaner to use, but it was actually stainless steel cleaner. I was shocked at how great it worked. Client called & said their desks & conference tables have never looked better. 😊
36:32 Hack 26 There is another trick to keeping your strawberries longer I don't remember which channel I was watching however it is washing them with water and making a mixture from water vinegar and slowly adding baking powder and you soak them in there for about 10 minutes when you wash them off really well if you have a salad spinner you just put the strawberries inside the spinner line with a paper towel and gently remove all the water from the strawberries and they will last up to 15 days in your refrigerator it removes all mold bacteria and other unwanted things on your strawberries

I enjoyed the various hacks displayed today. Huggies Baby Wipes can be used to clean your keyboard in laptops or desk tops. It cleans off dust and grease on kitchen appliances, stove knobs etc. Hand sanitizer is just as good for cleaning wood, it also removes stubborn dirt from surfaces by squeezing some on a soft cloth and wiping the area.

Mom would do this too, with cloth around broom to dust walls, when her mop top was drying...

Hi Natalie, regarding hack # 3, Febreze fabric refresher will also work on strong odors. My rental car smelled like a cigarette factory. I sprayed Febreze generously on front & back seats. I let the seats dry for 30 minutes. The car & seats smelled great. Also great on pet beds.
My hack for a stinky thermos is 1 party bleach and 3 parts water. I've also done the same with Pinalen or Fabuloso. Thank you so much for the hacks. Your eyebrows are everything!

Use trying it. I have a liquid fabric hack that I have used for over 15 years , this is for removing knotted hair that happens with your dogs. You dilute your softener with water 60 % water 40 % softener. Mix in a fine mist squirt bottle, spray lightly on the hair knot, using your fingers at first work into the hair knot then use a brush to comb out this will remove the knot to avoid from cutting it out.
Please read. I have a brother-in-law that is a heart patient and is on blood thinners. Awhile back a ambulance attendant had to start a IV on him. My sister has white berber carpet. The attendant handed my sister a bag of Saline solution. Of course she went to the hospital and didn't get to the carpet for a couple of days. It took it out. I have a grandson that lives with me and has BAD nose bleeds, he also is in high school wrestling......went to Walmart and got a bottle of Saline nasal spray and used it numerous times on his clothes, bedding and wrestling outfit. It has never failed me yet! Hope this helps someone that deals with bloody noses.

I use peroxide. Anything biological. Drench the stains and let it oxidize. It will foam up and you can wipe away. You may need to repeat and it takes a lot but it's cheap and the waiting is the hardest part. Additionally, there is a pet stain solution called furry freshness that is a bit more effective than peroxide alone. And with bloody thinners there are often cumulative or reoccurring stains. Furry freshness has a subscription plan and a fun sprayer you can attach to the one gallon bottle. It's the best thing that has ever happened to me as a cleaner
Regis Phibin once mentioned on his and Kathy Lee’s show that saliva takes blood out of clothes, yea I said saliva! He said he was told to lick the spot of blood he had on his sleeve cuff and it came out…there ya go, thanks, Regis, RIP❤

Getting candle wax off carpet by ironing the wax up using a brown med thick paper to absorb the wax.... hmm. If not very much wax there, and if it hasn't completely dried, maybe. Several other hacks, I see being minimally effective. But, kind of you to just pass along.

I seen your hack with removing candle wax from your carpet. I've had this happen but what I've always done was take old rags, place a rag over the wax and then place wax paper over the rag and use your iron to pull the wax up outta your carpet. Has always worked great for me.
I’ve used an old damp rag and covered the wax and then ironed. Not sure if damp or dry is better but it made my carpet even fluffier! Just in that one spot I spilled waxy now. 🤷🏻♀️Lol
@@J-Bird88 I'd suggest that the rag would be better because you are basically only melting the wax & it wicks back up into the fabric & paper ... but the fabric would draw up most, with the paper taking up the residual. The paper is just to absorb the extra wax that comes up off the fabric. I'd use the paper after the fabric instead of on top of it because it will pick up the lessor residual amount left over.

I use quite a few of these. But many I did not know. You need to do a list that we can print out! I have two hacks I use that came compliments of Liz Fenwick. When hanging wall art on a nail run a fork down on the nail handle pointing towards the ceiling. Then you can easily tell where your nail is. The next one is to remove a scratch on your hardwood floor. Take a walnut ( before you candy them all! Lol) and rub the scratch with the meaty part of the nut. I have used both and they really work. I use foil balled up for my outdoor grill! Also you could put hot glue in stripped screw heads to create a better grab! Thanks for sharing all these tips!!
Also for a strip screw you can take toothpicks and break it off in the hole as many as you can fit. Depending on size of void you can add drops of wood glue or school Elmer's to hold firm. (Or any little pieces of wood) this will make the screw push in and expand those pieces therefore filling the stripped area and giving a secure grip.
I want to thank you for the essential oil and vacuum filter hack. My vacuum has been smelling like wet dog for the past few months (we have 4 large dogs) and I haven’t figured out how to fix that problem yet. I put six drops of one of my essential oils on the filter and poof the scent was gone. Thank you so very much. Also, I wanted to give you a little hack for dispensing essential oils out of those bottles. If you look inside the bottle there should be a little hole on one of the sides. If you have that whole facing up as you’re trying to dispense the oil it will drip out faster and easier without shaking the bottle. Hope that helps :)
Have a couple for you if you haven’t heard of them. 1 You posted when removing a nail to fill with tooth paste. What I use is a bar of white soap, rub over hole and it disappears. 2. glass cleaner, bucket with warm water, add a few drops of dawn detergent, swish around just a little, then I use a plastic scrubby to wash window, then use a squeegee to remove cleaner, wiping squeegee, as you go along using your dollar store cloth. This is what professionals use, great for sliding doors showers etc. They come out so nice no streaks, I even have had birds fly into sliding doors which of course is not so good😳. Side note you have to use a squeegee not just a cloth to wipe windows down. Give it a try, glad I found your hacks thank you! Patty Brown

Rubbing alcohol removes permanent marker from a lot of surfaces! Also, fume free oven cleaner is a great grease remover, it also removes built up wax on older floors (does anyone wax floors anymore?). Love your hacks, so many I didn’t know.
Personally, when it comes to oven cleaner, I don't use it for anything the product label doesn't say to. Besides, even if you can't smell the fumes, doesn't mean it's not giving off harmful fumes or won't harm any person (or pet) walking on the surface with bare feet.
I have the same set in my bathroom and I use liquid gold and it works wonderful. It makes your dark finish shine just like brand new and I do that every other day or so to see that there is no hard water spots and it just takes a minute or two. Thank you.

Here's one for you !! . I grew up working in a grocery store and we had to wear red smocks (kinda of a jacket). We would put our ink pens in our smock / jacket pockets and get ink stains on them. So the trick is before you throw them in the wash (this works on regular clothes too) you spray the ink stain / mark with hair spray (pump or aresole) and Wala !!, when they come out of the washer, the ink stain is gone. Milk also works. Just put the milk and ink covered item together in a container. I used this when my teacher husband came home with ink on one of his shirts.
I use the fragrance beads and put in a small empty candle jar. Then put it on a candle warmer. It smells great for a long time.

cut pieces of zest bar soap or any nice smelling soap to put in your drawers, shoes, gym bag, and other places to make it smell great. Also, zest keeps mice out of your drawers. Not sure if other soaps work but I'm sure they would.
Also the *dark blue* Lysol toilet cleaner you use for the grout.. that stuff is amazing for that orange staining in washers, tubs, toilets, sinks, and stained items from well water. Cover the staining and let it sit about 10 - 20 minutes, then scrub it with a brush, rag, or sponge, then rinse.
Same toilet cleaner cleans tarnish from silver. I used it on a very old Stirling silver platter that was black, brown, orange, and all types of colors from tarnish. I had never seen it's beauty being silver. Looked brand new afterwards. Cover with a good layer, let sit anywhere between 10 - 30 minutes, scrub with an abrasive sponge or something similar (but nothing that will scratch the silver real bad). After sitting, it turns from a minty smell to a sulfur smell which is weird, but once you start scrubbing that tarnish away, the results are well worth it.
Newspaper to clean mirrors and glass with Windex doesn't leave streaks or fuzz residue behind.
A decorative air freshener my ex mother in law taught me.. get a medium sized vase, strand of Christmas lights that only has like 20 lights on it, and potpourri. Start putting the Christmas lights in the bottom of the vase as you add potpourri. Try working the lights all along the edge of the vase so that some of the lights can be seen from the outside. Keep doing this until all the lights are in the vase and all throughout the potpourri, around the edges, through the middle, and back again. Leave the plug out in the back (creative additions can cover the cord coming out the top). Tie a ribbon around the vase and plug it in. The lights get warm while they're on which causes the potpourri to release fragrance. I like to get potpourri that is unscented and add my own fragrance like essential oils. Other stuff can be used besides potpourri.. ribbons, artificial flowers, feathers, things made of wood, the sky is the limit. Been doin this for years.
Two hacks: pledge. After washing your rims on your car, spray them with pledge and buff in. It keeps them from having brake dust collect and they stay clean so much longer.
Second, baking soda and peroxide will clean white counter tops with stains, porcelain sinks and showers. I’ll spray peroxide then sprinkle the barking soda. You may consider spraying more peroxide on it and create a paste. Rub in with your hands. It will make an old tub or sink look brand new!!!
By the way, this is a really great list!!! I especially appreciate that it’s not full of useless information that doesn’t really work. I also appreciate that you’ve taken the time to try out the hacks that you weren’t already familiar with to attest that they work.

I’ve used Windex for all carpet stains for years! A friend worked at a carpet store and Windex was their go-to for cleaning their carpets. She made me a believer when she cleaned an old red Kool Aid stain from white carpet in my home (previous owner had a toddler)! I use it on carpet in my car, too. ❤️
Oh! I spray cornstarch with my favorite perfume and sprinkle it on my bedsheets when I change our bedding. Dollar Tree sells glass grated cheese shakers that work great for this. I slip a piece of cling wrap under the lid before screwing it down to keep the scent fresh/cornstarch soft.
Hi NataLee. 👋 Love your videos! I bought a really good heavy duty handle toilet bowl brush that I use only to clean the garbage disposal. You can get great leverage cleaning under the rubber fins and going deep into the unit without getting all that yucky black stuff on you. I used a plastic key tag attached to the hole in the handle marked "garbage disposal" and keep it under the kitchen sink.

@@leighaynsilvey852 I literally replaced my disposal for this reason. That thing should be removable even for safety reasons, if something fell in there we need to easily see with a flashlight. I continue to be annoyed that they make some of them with those things in there permanently!
I wash my windows and mirrors with dawn dish soap and water, the same dilution as for washing dishes. Wash with a microfiber cloth and dry with a good lint-free towel that has not been washed with fabric softener for no streaks! I'll have to try the Lysol for the fog! Hi Natalee, I often see you using Rub ‘n’ Buff for your DIY’s. In Australia its $15 for a small tube I saw a hack recently to use Kiwi Boot Polish in Tan or Natural and mixCraft Perfect Pearls Metallic Gold Powder. Mix small quantities of each. Powders come in all sorts of colours for different effects.
I make my own Carnauba and Beeswax Paste Wax for my diy furniture I Chalkpaint and so going to try mixing Gold Powder with that.
Unfortunately I cannot remember where I originally saw hack.

I ended up buying a tube of Rub 'n Buff & Yes, it cost a fortune! esp. with postage on such a small packet! I'm also an Aussie. It's like buying the Renyolds paper for sewing .. cheap in USA but cost me a fortune for what they buy in the cooking aisle! Even the Isopropol alcohol was almost $10 for about 200mls & they say to use a cup of it for some things! I don't understand why things cost us so much here ... :(

Love your “hacks” videos! I have one safety hack to suggest. If you use metal kitchen tongs to lift melted candle holders out of simmering water, do this: wrap a rubber band around the ends of your tongs in a criss-cross fashion. This will give extra grip to safely lift out those hot items. I also use this trick to lift boiled eggs out of my Instant Pot.

I use laundry beads to make my dryer fabric softener. Reusable container-1/2 water, 1/2 vinegar, laundry scent beads to desired smell. Let them dissolve and put a couple dollar store facecloths in the container. Remove one and lightly squeeze out the liquid and toss in the dryer with your wet clothes. Saved me hundreds of dollars. 😃

Rather than furniture polish I’d use stainless steel cleaner on your shower doors and mirrors it will keep your mirrors from fogging up😊 if that doesn’t work for you and you live in a area that is very humid use shaving cream 😊has worked for me for years! You probably already know this, but to get sharpie off a wall or piece of furniture just spray on some hairspray and wash off with a clean cloth. You might have to spray a couple of times, but this was a life saver for my “artistic “ child. It doesn’t work as well for surfaces that are a matte finish but it does help a little.

Yess I used to work in the cafeteria of an elementary and the kids would get marker and crayons and pencils I would use hand sanitizer to get it off the lunch tables

I love all your genius home hacks, especially because you are so amazing with your voice, smile, and facial expression. If you were not the person I just mentioned I wouldn't stay watching you teaching 50 genius home hacks till the end. Another thing that you maybe can use next time. Sometimes my carpet gets dirty with a little black spot from makeup and I use makeup remover cleansing towelettes and works perfectly. Thank you so much for sharing your genial ideas.
2 quickies. 1. I clean my coffee maker about once/month with a white vinegar solution. Then, I use the hot solution and some backing soda to clean my drains. Just pour about 1/3 or 1/2 c baking soda into each side of the drain (usually the cross hairs will hold it) and pour the solution over the baking soda. I use the hot water from the rinses similarly to clean my bathroom drains--sink, tub, and shower.
2. 1 tsp of white vinegar in a qt of water makes an excellent glass cleaner. Just spray and wipe. Rubbing alcohol in water is also a great glass cleaner.
❤omg I started mixing Downey & distilled water way back when Febreeze had a vanilla/lavender scent. But, they took it off the shelf when they hooked up with Downey, so, started mixing the replica of the spray, Downey with water, I replaced febreeze, plus it made a great wrinkle remover! They did away with that scent, but, my new fav., is the one you used, the Peony!!! Just love it! And, don't let anyone get you down! Us old gals, love whatever you have, to teach us! I used to clean houses, & this woman only wanted the house cleaned with just water? No one was sick, it's just a fad., anyway I couldn't do it, if the house still smells like your stinky, pungent, husbands body odor, which the house reeked of, well I can't put my stamp on it! Small community, & if her house still smelled bad even with a housekeeper, not good for business! 😅
Tip: I use hair spray to remove ink and make up out of clothes. Use a few paper towels folded underneath and spray on top. Blot with a clean paper towel. Keep replacing papers towels until stain is gone. I used to use this tip when cleaning costumes in our theater group in high school.

Just thought about Dawn Powerwash when I saw the Cabinet hack...I love the stuff, bought some for my daughter to try and she was cleaning her cabinets she said she sprayed on the powerwash and let it sit a few minutes and like magic a years worth of grease and buildup wiped right off with a damp cloth!

I love that stuff! You know you can make the refill yourself. I fill the bottle about halfway with Dawn then add a few tablespoons of 96% alcohol and the rest is water. I didn't think it was that simple but I've refilled about 6 times now.

Peppermint Oil and Lavender Oil are my two main additives for cleaners around the house. Peppermint oil added to the cleaning solution for floors will help keep spiders out of my house. For this solution I mix a few drops of Dawn dishwashing detergent, 1/4 cup vinegar, 2 gallons water along with the peppermint oil. This leaves the house smelling fresh. Now I'm ready to try some of the new things I learned from you today. Thank you for all the wonderful hacks.
