My grandfather used to give drivers rides from the airport to the track in Talladega. One day he picked up Bobby Allison. Bobby said "sir, if you don't mind, can we turn the air conditioning off? I don't want to get too comfortable before I have to get in that race car".

Fun fact, early bootleggers learned that all the cops had to do was shoot the radiator to disable the car. So, they started putting the radiator in the trunk, running the hoses longer, so they could keep going!

If you go to any event, it’s gotta be the Daytona 500. It’s the first race of the year and is the most prestigious event to win. Daytona is where it all started, racing along the white hard sand beach for half the track and the other half going down the road. At Daytona, you can have a tour where they’ll even take you on the track and let you “try” to walk up the banked turn. I’ll tell you right now, you’ll be blown away at how much those turns are banked. You can’t even walk up them they are so steep. Something like 2 or 3 stories straight up from base of track to the wall. Daytona is also one of the few beaches in the country you are actually allowed to still drive in which is awesome. Bring a surf board and try your hand at surfing while you’re there, or better yet make a short drive to cocoa beach (keep in mind while it is sunny and hot Florida, east coast Florida water is cold!). Add a trip to the west coast of Florida and visit the gulf beaches, literally some of the best beaches in the world. I’m down in St Pete and we’ve got a few of the best beaches in the country( st Pete beach, Clearwater beach, siesta key, Anna Marie island). Destin beach is north Florida, probably the closest good gulf beach near Daytona with an awesome town. Shoot you can even go to St Augustine too which is the oldest city in America. Florida really is a one stop shop for an American experience!

The scanners are the only way I watch NASCAR. It is so much fun to listen to the drovers speak with the crew chiefs. You can hear stratevy and everyting. I will never forget one of the first times using the scanner was it Daytona and I was listening to four different cars that were in a row and listening to their crew chiefs talk to the drivers and all four of them had agreed to drop down as a group to pass the lead. And they were going to do it on the count of three and then on the count of two three of them dropped down and went ahead and left somebody hanging. Come to find out there was a back-end deal made that they would leave that one guy in the dust but you didn't hear that on the radio until after the case it was pretty hilarious but really a cool thing to listen to.

I try to go there every time I visit the area. Like I've said on another video, if you can put together a two or three week trip to the USA, head for the San Francisco Bay Area. You can take in San Francisco, Yosemite National Park, Monterey Bay and Big Sur, and take in a NASCAR race in Sonoma. That would be an amazing trip that wouldn't have you flying all over different parts of the country.

There are at least 4 outfits that I know of doing NASCAR experience, and they’ll do it at 6 or 7 tracks around the country. I’ve driven at Charlotte and Richmond. The chassis will be NASCAR spec, but may be 3 or 4 year old spare cars. The engines are detuned some, but still up around 450-500 hp. However, when on the track, the spotter assigned to you will be on radio with you and can remotely control your RPM limits lap by lap via radio controls on your rev limiter. Bust out on what he tells you to stay under, and you’ll have to back off 500-1000 revs to reset it (lost lap time). As you pay attention to him, follow the line he directs, and he sees you can handle the ride, he’ll give you more revs. Did 155mph lap avg at Charlotte, so I guess I listened ok. 😅

A few things. This video came out in 2020. In just that short time. The cars are completely different in every way. And teams can't actually do much to them. NASCAR is very popular because most of the tracks they go to,you can pretty much see the whole track from your seat. Road course racing, like F1 ect. Once they go by,wait another minute or so before you see them again. Personally my favorite motorsport is NHRA drag racing. While your street car might have 400 HP. These NASCAR cars might have 700+- HP. The nitro cars in the NHRA have 12,000+ HP. Top speeds are approaching 340 mph.

And NASCAR actually requires that any driver must have a special racing license that they earn by driving in lower tier leagues as well as undergoing training and demonstrating their ability to drive at race speed.

Your body will experience forces against it and you'll be pressed into your seat and pushed to the side. Now imagine doing that at 150-180mph. AND doing it every 10 seconds for 3 hours straight. AND doing it in 130 deg F heat.

(Alphabetical order, because they are ALL great weekends.) And yes, make sure you come for the whole weekend! There will usually be at least two different classes racing. Usually, on the Daytona 500 weekend, there will be four classes, over five days, which will leave you drained by the time you get back to your hotel on Sunday night.

Austin Dillion's Coke Zero 400 crash at Daytona is a much watch. After you watch it, type in the same words but add front row view. Someone in the stands filmed the car crashing through the catch fence right in front of themselves.

There is a place south of New Orleans called NOLA Motorsports. There you can pay to drive exotic cars such as Lambos

I'd heartily recommend a few of S1ap's other videos on NASCAR for reacting some time, particularly his Alignment Chart video, if you want to know more about some of the names you should know on the sport.

You should check out Nascar Radioactive. Its like in this video when he was talking about the radio chatter. Well nascar posts after every race the radio chatter chopped up between different drivers to tell the story of a the race.

Yes there is an experience. It's literally called NASCAR Experience. You do get to drive a NASCAR vehicle, however instead of the 650hp the series actually races with the engines are more like 400hp. But you get a feel for the way the cars handle and if you can carry speed through the corners of whatever track you choose, you can still attain a very high speed.

Come to Charlotte, NC, visit the NASCAR Hall of fame, watch the Coke 600 and go for a drive your self, then come hang out with my brother and I while we race at a short track nearby like Hickory or Tri-County.

I am a nascar home track driver. Not all Nascar are these big tracks and drivers. I would like to see you react to ELKO's speed way powerstock races where cars are still fast but on a way smaller track!

The driving experience is rad!!! So is the ride along version if you're skittish about driving. They have them at most tracks. Just beware...once you go to a race you will be hooked for life. *Try to hit up the Daytona 500!* It's absolutely insane.

Cheating has always been a part of racing. Back in the 50s & 60s in the Northeast where my dad ran they required stock gas tanks. SO, what they did was put in a splash of gas, shake it up and pour out the liquid leaving only fumes. Then throw a firecracker in the tank and it magically became bigger. Not exactly legal, but common.

they do have nascar experience, you don't get to drive but you can ride. It's the #43 Nascar Racing experience Ford Fusion Gen 6 retired cup car. it runs within 10 seconds of a full fledged Gen 6 cup car but I have no clue how close to the Next gen car it runs.

There is nothing that compares to being at a NASCAR race in person. It is truly a worthwhile experience. I have been a few times and I can tell you it kicks ass. One word of advise though. When you go get your ticket as high in the stands as you can so you can see the cars going all the way around the track.
P.S. Yes there is a NASCAR experience that allows you to drive one of the cars. I will be waiting foe the crash video.
