A stock car would've run for very few hours before breaking down , and in the end it classified last ,so it wasn't faster than anyone ,Hypotetically let'see what would've happened if any of the LMGTE cars was unrestricted?? do you still think a Fake Nascar is faster?? this sensationalism in video titles is cringey asf. The jack lifts the car with one pump. The guy with the gun has all the lugs off when the jack handle hits the ground. Finally the outlet on the jack is so large, when they release it, the car falls like a stone. No resistance.
NASCAR was the first racing organization to really try to save time with fast pit crews. While most racing series crews were meandering around, NASCAR crews were swarming the car like angry bees. To be on a NASCAR pit crew, you have to extremely athletic. They have to be fast, agile and strong. The tire carriers jump over the wall with a tire under each arm. The two fuel cans weigh 72 pound each.

Best part of the garage 56 car in that race was the amount of Euro fans that had to scramble for excuses when it absolutely smoked that many cars
why are we talking like kids here? All motorsport series are bound by their regulations, developed to the very limits of what the regulations allow by talented engineers, and saying one getting 'smoked' by another is just childish nonsense. Even if you wanted a comparison out of curiosity, the garage 56 car wasn't a regular cup car, weighted 250+ kg lighter and had lots of other aero surfaces, so its a meaningless comparison. And ofcourse it finished almost 30 laps behind the GTE am winner, so it didn't even smoke anyone, but thats ok since the car was never meant to run 24 hours.

@@askeladden450 What's really sad is that the Cadilacs were competing for most of the race in the Hypercar category, but were beat in the end bested by one lap. But all the "USA" chants were for the Garage 56 NASCAR one, and for which the class Garage 56, *has* to be faster than the GTE class so it wouldn't interfere with that competition. So a lot of work was done taking weight off the standard NASCAR car so it would be faster. Forgetten in all of this USA chest thumping over the Garage 56 nonsense was the car that actually won the GTE-AM class ahead of the Garage 56 car? A Corvette.
@@jboy55 exactly, the caddie and corvette were brilliant, and have been brilliant for a long time in imsa and wec. These arent american fans, they are nascar fans who know little about how amazing american motorsport is outside of that.

It's about the fact that people thinks it's a "legit" car.
The number of people i've saw in comments, thinking G56 actually won the GT category ... and US RUclipsr who double down on it.
That's hurt, because still today, this big lie still effective. Those people doesn't care about motorsport, but just want to show excessive patriotism when it's not due.

The Garage 56 Camero has to be one of my favorite race cars to ever grace a track. NASCAR is what got me into motorsport as a whole, so seeing a NASCAR stock car tear it up in the 24 Hours of Le Mans was amazing.
Personally while I appreciate standard circuit racing, I have never been a big fan of it (I like my time attack rally racing). But endurance racing is a big exception to that. And that car was just awesome. Especially its engine noise. It sends shivers up my spine every time I hear it.
Top fuel and funny car for me
NASCAR stock cars have a unique exhaust called a boomtube, looks like a funnel that’s been flattened. It helps evacuate exhaust gases and keeps backfires while decelerating from splitting the exhaust open
That car's engine noise is absolutely glorious. It gives me goosebumps and sends shivers up my spine if I play it with my home theater speakers.
I built a 1955 chevy 3100 with a 350 and it sounded wonderful after i put the garden hose on the mufflers ;)
I loved the comparison of the engine sounds as they went by. There was definitely no mistaking that V-8 as it came through.
The thing that would surprise most Europeans is that a street ZL1 will easily outrun a good chunk of cars they consider fast around the bend, its terrifyingly quick, super sticky tires, a 10 speed that shifts as quick as a dct, out shifting a Porsche PDK and an extremely sophisticated suspension.
The guy was wrong about one thing which is NASCAR has been racing at road courses since the 1960s. His comment made it seemed like they only started in the last 5 years or so.. They have had at least two races out of their full schedule at these type of tracks. Lately NASCAR has added more tracks (COTA, Chicago Street Course, and Charlotte Roval) to name a few.
Riverside California in the 1958-1988, Watkins Glen New York in the '80's, and Suzuka Circuit in Japan in the 1990's
Well they really never showed those races. It was always the Oval races on TV. In fact I never remember seeing a NASCAR race on anything but Oval until about 1980 and was shocked to see it.

i used to race at the amateur level in drag racing in the USA.
one of the fastest people i ran against ( and lost to) was a 20 something girl with a sleeper subaru wagon.
she was cute enough to fool people but you could always find her by herself tinkering with her car between heats.
racing and shooting are the two most genderless sports. youre good or youre not, based on your skill, your practice, and your dedication.

Also just putting this here the power in nascars engines have been lowered since the 90s and 2000s they used to run closer to 1000hp
That is the major difference between American cars and European cars. American go for power and Europeans can run at high speed for a long time. But that is the reason European cars are more expensive to own, you have to keep them tuned to run right where as our V8 can have a cylinder missing and still run.
Y'all need to remember what the P stands for in a couple of those classes. Although for "prototypes" they sure don't seem to have been prototyping very much for a very long time. This was a one-off, granted, but truly a prototype.
1) This car wasn't really a NASCAR stock car anymore since it was adapted to race there. 2) The Camaro wasn't limited to GTE regulations (Or any regulations for that matter). It was just a flight of fancy. Was impressive to see though. Sounded mental
This was impressive, even though they were running in the unregulated experimental class. If you haven't seen it, Ford v Ferrari is a good movie and based on a true story. Carol Shelby designed the GT40 so that Ford could beat Ferrari at Le Mans in 1966. His three Fords finished at the top in a dead heat. I'm a fan of Shelby for his aftermarket Mustangs, but this is a great movie. Matt Damon played Carol Shelby and Christian Bale played the English racing engineer and driver Ken Miles.
I had a 429 in a 1955 ford truck. The sound of a v8 is heaven and how it shaked the truck was badass.
That Chevrolet race V8 is not even making half the power its capable off, without forced induction. If you ever get an opportunity to buy a Chevrolet race V8, sell everything and buy. They are torque and horsepower kings.. The only problem why Chevrolet switched in Endurance IMSA and WEC is because they are also thirsty. Cadillac does not care. They took Chevrolet engineers and had them build a Cadillac Race V8 , its awesome!
In 1976, NASCAR entered a Winston Cup Series spec Dodge Charger and Ford Gran Torino at Le Mans. Both cars, the Charger especially, were running down and passing the Ferraris and Porsches on the Mulsanne like they were standing still

it wasn't really a cup car but ok. It was 500+ pounds lighter than a regular ZL1 cup car and had lots of extra aero surfaces. Not a fair comparison of what a actual NASCAR is capable of.

American Muscle vs European Finesse is always a debate. I think we Americans have something to offer that is entertaining to y'all, and y'all have something interesting to offer for us. I love Rally racing. And a big shout-out to Japanese racing. All fine machines in my book.
GTe cars allowed to turn up the boost to the Camaro Hp will be faster
The Corvette also runs the same HP than the other GTe cars, de restricted it will be a lot faster

No, Chevrolet is, and always has been, the world's best, by an extremely large margin. The SBC V8 has won more races than ALL other engines combined, and that'll never change.
Camaro's aero bits are just muscle on the muscle. Kind of like if that red crab bodybuilder on SpongeBob flexed his bicep then that bicep popped out a little arm that flexed it's own bicep

this is no surprise to me. in 1983, Rusty Wallace hit 260 mph with restricter plate removed. These are 900+ HP engines boys and girls. Not to be fucked with. lol

@@BoostFiend_Bud It's was 700 hp running with restricted RPMs so as to maintain the engine life. A street-legal Z1 can hit over 950 hp with a $120,000 supercharger package. Even without a supercharger a Z1 stock car could put out more than 700 hp, but it couldn't do so for 24hrs.

@@BoostFiend_Bud It was a car restricted to put out 700 hp to ensure longevity. Without restricting the RPMs, it could have put out more hp without mods. I used the example of a supercharger for hyperbole.

Typical FB misleading headline. The fact if the matter is that a Ferrari ACTUALLY won LeMans. Gee that means it must have been faster. The fact of the matter is that the Camaro was in a class of one designed for Garage 56 type entrants. A couple years ago the Garage 56 racecar was a Hydrogen powered LMP2 chassis. Just to help those with no clue about Nascar type cars at LeMans, In 1971 there were several "real" stock car entrants, not a car that ran in a special class. I think it's cool that Hendricks decided to run this is car and the French have always loved loud American V-8s... Panoz, Corvette, but this particular vehicle was much more Prototype than GT car.

As a female mechanic for 30 years, I have had to deal with my fair share of unknowledgable men try to tell me I was wrong, when they clearly had zero idea what they were talking about. It's what boys do. They were raised to think they were better than women and we are second class citizens next to them. Learn what you can and keep your pocket ful of questions you know they won't be able to answer. Then you can reply, "You must watch F1 for the boys as well, seeing you couldn't answer my question"

Back 5 or 6 years ago Nascar race cars had 800 hp
They had that nearly 25 years ago. And not sure what they were running in the 80s just prior to the restrictor plate being added when they were running over 210 mph average laps at Talladega and Daytona.
Had a female friend that was into hunting and fishing. (rural southern American) We were friends for many years and she got better at woodcraft than many of my male friends. We'd play "cowboys & indians" with real BB Guns but she and I were never allowed on the same team because we'd win every time.
I don't know why some Europeans think stock cars are slow.

We got Alcohol engines, big bore pistons and turbos, Europe just interested in shaving pounds. We will always win.
The thing is though, most Euro sports cars quote dry weight on their vehicles and in reality, once laden with fluids, they are a good deal heavier. Ferrari is notorious for this. My own beloved Alfa Giulia has this as well. So they aren't really all that light, despite often incorporating a fair amount of composites.
Remember, there is nothing stock about a "stock car". It is a purpose built racecar. I believe GT3 cars start out as road cars that are then modified to race.

Totally random thought, F1 pit stops have got to be the most dangerous thing in the race. Why are there TWENTY people pitting a car and why is there the gantry?
This is ridiculous. This was prototype and as such it was allowed to not follow many of the rules that a real competitor would have to follow. The fact that it was allowed to have over 100hp more than everyone else disqualifies it from any comparison.
It's faster because it has 100+ more horsepower than the rest of the field is regulated to.
HP alone isn't enough. It has to corner and brake better since it's far heavier with far more aero drag, rolling drag, and drivetrain drag.
@@sarahstephens5966 Of course, but all the aero, suspension and big brakes, with matching HP numbers, would leave it at the back of the pack, lapped even. Media made a huge deal about how it was destroying the other cars and failed to mention it had way more power than the rest of the field.

Well I've been watching f1 since 2012 for me and my first race was the Brazil grand Prix where Sebastian vettil and fanrando alongso were fighting for the championship in that race Suzi and that's one of my favorite races in F1 ofher than the 2021 world champion in Abu Dubai between Max versteepnn and Lewis Hamilton in 2021 and besides girls can enjoy watching f1 as well too not just because of the drivers or anything else but because it's really a amazing sport to watch even if you want to learn how the cars work in speed and areo it would be awesome if you were to a video about the 2012 f1 season whenever you get the chance to.😊
Hahaha, yeah respect on the rant....we ALL watch racing ultimately for the drivers! Even if you have a favorite team (for me in F1 it's McLaren and in NASCAR it's RCR) you still root for one driver over the other(s). I of course think Lando is great and glad he's finally won (and 2nd today closing in on Max), but personally Oscar is my driver.
It's funny that you brought up watching F1 for the drivers, I have recently started watching F1 because a friend of mine is into it. He has been saying that you should watch if for the personality of the drivers. I disagree in this aspect because... f off ferrari, redbull, and verstappen... Mclaren all the way!!! Although Russell is cool.

Some people are very very weird. Anyone who cares even slightly (in a negative way and not simple curiosity) why you're into or F1 or when you got into F1 is very strange. Definitely not the type of fan people who are actively part of the sport want anything to do with. Assuming someone is into it for a specific reason and telling them that is why, and doing so as a judgmental insult because they don't like it for the reason you want people to like it for is unhinged and they need some help.
"How Nascar was faster" : simple ... 160 more HP, unregulated slick tires, unregulated aero, no minimum weight, no BOP.
Fail. Still heavier, had to use a manual jack, way more aero drag, more rolling drag, more drivetrain drag. Also the handicap of the 9" Ford rear axle while everyone else had independent rear suspension. The 9" eats power, at least 5% more than any other ring and pinion.

Finally NASCAR got their crap together and the races are interesting again. Chicago street coarse was an awesome race. They are finally taking some cues from F1.

I'm a dude, an F1 fanatic since the year 2000 (and only because it wasn't broadcast in my country very much before then), and I'm from Murica 🇺🇸. And I'd like to say screw the gatekeeping boys and men who mock you for being a REAL fan. I love how many older and especially younger ladies that are not only fans but really know the sport. YOU GO GIRL!!! Who knows... maybe one day you'll be an aerodynamicist for one of the teams! It could happen!!!

FUN FACT! That Le Mans NASCAR car had nothing common with NASCAR cars! Emgine, gearbox, suspension, electronics, chasis, everything was different! If you put a REAL NASCAR car in Le Mans, will be down at least 30 sec per lap

PRO TIP...If you have a well built engine, all you need to do is turn up the fuel, air, and spark...not replace/redesign the entire engine. Now you know!
Even if that was true, of course it would be slower at a track like that. Would you expect a super car to be able to drag race a topfuel dragster?
The engine and dogbox were the same for the g56 car as the cup cars. I find it funny. They could've pushed 800whp and would've been fine. They used to have a 950whp package back in the day and the blocks really haven't changed much from their carborated fathers and grandfathers. But I would assume they went with even safer than fine. And still killed it out there.
