    This was really helpful for me to understand how the heater hose worked. When I initially diagnosed the issue, I had thought that the hose simply slipped off, and needed a new clamp. That seemed to worked for all about 5 minutes until the car hit a pull, and the hose popped right back off.
    Now watching your video I see the hose itself needs a quick connect on it which it is missing. So I need a new hose assembly.
    Many thanks!

    Thanks for this video, I'm facing the same issue now but will be doing an upgrade, I bought an aluminum flange and welded an AN12 male on where the heater hose goes then cut the broken part of the hose and use a push-loc AN12 female

    Just had my 1.8T passat done by a local garage.
    They put in a new Temp sensor while it was easy access and they also fitted a new rocker cover gasket as these leak at the back and can go unnoticed .
    £280 all in which I think is a fair price👍🏻

    I got this problem (not the hose but somewhere in the vacinity) and it's sucking a tiny bit of air into the system

    how many hours of labor did the tear down and reconnect of everything take? @spraym88

    • @spraym88
      @spraym88  5 лет назад +1

      It took me over 2 hours tear down time the 1st time I did it! Then the aftermarket part failed so the 2nd time it took me roughly an hour teardown. Reassembly a bit more

    Is this the same as for a 2001 Audi A4 1.8T? I have an AWM engine, just recently found out coolant was leaking at the back of the engine when I started smelling something sweet.

    • @spraym88
      @spraym88  6 лет назад

      Delusive I'm not too sure. If I'm not mistaken the 2001 is still the B5 platform. 2002 starts the B6...

    • @spraym88
      @spraym88  6 лет назад

      Delusive more then likely it's a COOLANT FLANGE OR HOSE!

    • @sheeshjamz
      @sheeshjamz 6 лет назад +1

      I tried looking to see where the leak is coming from but just can't pinpoint it, I bought the upgraded cast aluminum one to prevent this from happening again. So crossing fingers it's just the coolant flange and not a hose.

    • @spraym88
      @spraym88  6 лет назад +1

      Delusive Get a light and try to look at the TOP of the transmission to see if its WET! If it is, it's the flange AND or the flange hose. My advice would be to use ONLY a genuine Audi part. I've used after market ones before and trust me, IT WILL LEAK again

    Just did this on an Audi but if you have long hand you’ll get away with not having to remove the combi-valve

      i was able to get a ratcheting wrench back there, it was tight and i hadn't taken out anything because i was planning how to do the job, but it is possible if you can fit your hands back there

    My friend a question: at 4:28 that upper plastic part with the metal clip, how did you disconnect it from the coolant flange? I’ve pulled the clip out as much as it goes and tried pulling it off the coolant flange. Won’t budge after 30min of trying. Help!

    • @spraym88
      @spraym88  Год назад

      Once you remove the clip, you got pull on it with force

    • @spraym88
      @spraym88  Год назад

      3:28? Or 4:28

      4:28 top part of coolant hose. I thought I didn’t have to remove the clip all the way. Thanks man. Appreciate your help.

    Hay bro thanks for the video info .
    I have the same problems with my 2004 passat 1.8t. , how did you take off that hose . Hit me up and how much did it cost you? Thanks

    • @spraym88
      @spraym88  6 лет назад

      Jose Sanchez jr the easiest way to take the hose off is to remove everything I removed in the video! It goes underneath the firewall to the heater core

      Kevin K this is a DIY video... I clearly tell you where to get this part.... if you want me to fix your car for you as well why don't you just bring it over... this is RUclips and if you don't like the video search for another one... it's so sad that certain people have so many negative comments but yet you're looking for help on RUclips if you know so much, maybe you should make your own video for people like US to learn from

    • @streezyrider121
      @streezyrider121 6 лет назад +1

      Funny, maybe you ought to have replied with a thank you for the PN addition. My comment could hardly be viewed as "negative" and it's not like I down voted the video.

    • @spraym88
      @spraym88  6 лет назад

      Kevin K you're right I appreciate you uploading the PN . In the video all I said was I was not going to get one from ECS Tuning because I already had two fail. I also clearly said I was going to get an Audi genuine part and since I didn't look up the part or purchase it yet I did not know the PN. Thanks

    • @spraym88
      @spraym88  6 лет назад

      Kevin K again this is RUclips and we are all trying to help and learn from one another.. thanks for tuning in

    • @streezyrider121
      @streezyrider121 6 лет назад +1

      Fair enough. I just had a lot of trouble finding the PN myself. I had actually ordered the wrong one being most places aren't using the correct display pictures and I wasn't finding any model specific diagrams. ECS also offers multiple options that arent for your application even when specifying your application. Frustrating search.
      Either way, the video did help me out and I hope the PN options I posted also help folks out.
