Esix will only triggers on your turn, i made the same mistake a lot until someone pointed it out to me lol
Dom got way more value from Esix than he was supposed to. Its replacement effect only applies during his turn and only for the first token creation. For example, he should've gotten only one Ventmaw from Xyris's triggers, as it triggers individually for each card drawn.
Also, Abundance replaces draws, so none of the cards you put in hand should've triggered Xyris.
That mikaeus was awesome, would love to see a deck list.
Dylan's deck looked awsome. Great game. Sorry to hear that Kolvori didn't turn out how you'd liked. (Been there, in like theory, not with Kolvori specifically)
Of note, Esix changes what tokens enter as during your own turn.
Dylan's deck is probably one of the (if not THE) coolest decks I have seen in the channel. We need that list.
I get it was unintentional, but Dom really needs to reread Esix lol. Not only did he trigger Esix on every turn instead of just his own, but he treated the separate Xyris snake triggers as a single instance of snakes coming out, thus making 3+ token copies when it should have only been 1.
Im thinking Dom should create just 1 Savage Ventmaw at a time thanks to Esix since each draw triggers Xyris and Esix replaces just the first one. With the Old Gnawbone would be different since he create that many tokens
Yeah you’re correct. The tokens are created one by one by Xyris.

I'm sorry, but this is not how Xyris works with Esix. Each card drawn by an opponent creates a seperate Xyris trigger i.e. if an opponent draws 3 cards Xyris triggers 3 times, each trigger creates exactly one snake (without doubling effects on board), which means only one token can come out as a copy of any other creature. Also Esix's replacement only works on it's controller turns.
I know it's a big bummer and probably means cutting it out of this deck, as a fellow Xyris player I know the pain too well.

As another Xyris player, I saw that too. I think it’s worthwhile for op to point it out for people who are inspired by this video to play Xyris so they get it right.

Cool video. Another play mistake was Xyris made tokens on you when you put cards into your hand from Abundance. Abundance is normally pretty good tech against that sort of thing, just a heads up for next time :)

I agree you can't mix them like that non land permanents in front lands in the back. I think there is a rule stating that is the appropriate way to play.

Sorry to see Kolvori and Tiamat not really getting to shine this episode but damn did Mikaeus impressed me! Xyris was also great! My Xyris build is usually focused around wheels but this build seems so much more fun honestly!

Abundance counteracts the Xyris trigger as it becomes a replacement effect to drawing also
I'm sorry you're not feeling Kolvori. :( I tried to build a deck with her too because the art is lovely and I don't have a mono green deck, but I never felt as if I was doing anything interesting or impactful.

I must have missed something but why did Drew play Crux of Fate and choose dragons when she was the dragon deck? Why didnt she choose nondragons?
Get rid of Old Gnawbone, most likely, as well as the three Ventmaw token copies
I will be trying saryth for mono g, trample/deathtouch tribal with a hint of infect.
Turn 7: Esix will not trigger on Dylan's turn
It's a replacement effect, not a trigger, though still true.
Also, during Dom's own turns, Esix will only replace the first token created by Xyris.
I was waiting for a wheel from dominic. His xyris deck seems way fairer than mine lol.

Xyris wouldn't have triggered off any of your draws after you played Abundance. Abundance replaces your "draw" with another effect.

FWIW, I think Kolvori, God of Kinship works better in the 99 of a Kethis, the Hidden Hand deck. Kethis is fun with a Abzan Planeswalker build.
That is NOT how Esix works at all. Bit triggered, I see this SO often. People should really read the cards they play.
