When Tia casted the march, Niv triggers to draw and deal 1 damage to the phantasmal image, everyone forgot the trigger i think, none the less, congrats to Tia
Niv got pretty unlucky with drawing no lands or mana for so long. Counterbalance pulled huge there to keep them in the game and the chains helped as well. It's fine if you don't like low resource games, but I enjoyed it and it showed a nice diversity of meta that we don't often see.
14:28 peer plus chains doesn’t allow 26 cards to be drawn. If a card has a player draw more than one card at a time they are considered separate draws. Therefore, zeb should discard then draw one at a time 26 times.
Half of his opponents didn't have lands for half of the game, he drew like 20 cards from necropotence and it was his card that ended up ending the game in a very predictable manner.
This was kind of a goofy game. They get like that once in a while. Going for a win and not getting there is rough, especially when you give the win to someone else. The Niv pilot took 4 turns off as well, and neutralizing a control player make it a three player game. GG. I like seeing the more janky side of Cedh.
what a drag. I am not sure what Zeb was hoping for of that Peer. I guess it was a hail Mary to find something to win. However it seems like he got knocked of his game plan and never managed to regain his footing. weird game
Johnny shouldnt have gotten the amass orc token when Tia sacrificed the Birds on Turn 4 (i think). Unless im wrong (which i might be) because i though the bow master had to deal damage first, then amass orcs 1...
Emma effectively prevented Zeb from going off multiple times. In addition, Johnny's deck wasn't kind to him. Tia played the long game and didn't panick, which also why she won this game.
March should have triggered Niv Mizzit to ping the Image killing it. That Peer also felt like kingmaking with a Chains out. This game was very sloppy which happens but the title makes it feel pushed IMO
It was what he fetched first, until he realized that chains made it so he would have to discard his entire library. If only Zeb realized the same thing...
Only slight issue ive seen so far is Johnny shouldn't have amassed. Since the birds of paradise was gone before the bowmasters ability resolved, the whole ability fizzles
If i was Jhonny, i definily would burn this Homeward Path and put a Takenuma, Abandoned Mire in the place just to be a land that generate colored mana and enters untapped. XD
I've been looking into it, homeward path feels super bad in yuriko cause you need the colors. I did add minamo recently. Got super bad luck with Mt lands this game though 😂
If you're referring to the beginning, I didn't have colors for the longest time. I took the hand to slow down the game cause I knew I wasn't coming out with a lot early game abs did not want to try my luck at 3 cards
Something interesting that I saw in the Xyris list is the Neoform + Tandem lookout, as well as room for Malcolm + Glint Horn, but no Niv Mizzet? When I was was looking at a competitive Xyris list, Niv being an easy commander -> neoform away stuck out to me, but maybe 9 mana compared to 6 mana for the combos is too steep?
I think this the match the really convinced me that Lotho isn't good. Two of the players were mana screwed for half of the game, necropotence drew like 20 cards, and they had a dominate board most of the game, but they had nothing that let them push through interaction to actually win the game. While there was a lot of counter spells, the two blue players must have been bricking on something. If they had less, that probably just means they drew their proactive cards and then kill you before you set everything up.
@@blakerobinson4198 i agree with you, i was not talking about time but i was wondering why didn’t enter in play earlier! I was just… sad to not see yuriko, just that 😂
I'm sorry but this was the most flaccid game on this channel with 2 players not doing anything for nearly 8 turns, a counterbalance that made the game a slog, and the peer into the "kingmaking" abyss. I'd say this is far from a cEDH game and more like a mid-to-high powered game.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG it looks even more like an april fools joke after another gameplay where the final statement is that Tatyova is not cedh viable when at least won a tournament and is more used than Xyris
I'm sure the players had fun, but none of them played well... Player of the game is counterbalance for singlehandedly mental booming zeb into throwing the game.

niv was phased out
Niv triggers on cast, so it wasn't phased out yet.
PhImage should have entered as a copy of gilded drake, yes
The best part of counterbalance is the "may reveal" so you can choose what to counter and keep the card hidden
You don't get to look first unless another card lets you, like top activation or a future sight effect.
No the best part of counterbalance is absolutely fucking the rest of the table for several turns for only 2 mana.
Wow. Great play with the Peer into the Abyss lol. Yeah let's give them 26 snakes. Oops! GG ❤❤❤
Peer into Chains losing to 26 snakes..... I guess I will just lose now
Casting Peer into the Abyss to give an opponent 26 ping creatures with goblin bombardment felt like king making.
This was super fun to play! It wasn't a perfect game for us but we all had fun. Took so long too. 😂😂 thwnks for letting me play with yall!
14:00 How did it take 15 turns for Johnny to finally Ninjutsu in Yuriko? Was the early game Null Rod that good? I knew it was a mull to 5 but still...
Counter balance doing WORK this game. That was nice to see!
So long story short, niv spectated and made it a drag, and xyris can win if your opponent makes you win

yeah this shit was incredibly underwhelming
Niv did its job but got unlucky. I have no idea why Zeb went for Peer with Chains there.
Truly one of the worst cedh games, got so bored I fell asleep
03:20 the bow master trigger should fissel? (i don't know how to typ it..)
This Lotho deck is always so threatening
Feels like he threw the game with that peer? Would love to know the thought process behind it given what was on board?
It felt like Zeb may have forgotten about Chains. There was a lot on board to remember and they were constantly trying to play around Counterbalance
He could have lost his cool with how many times he was countered. 😂
Yeah bad call. Oops.
With his lifetotal, he was probably hail marying, knowing he wouldn't untap anyways
14:28 peer plus chains doesn’t allow 26 cards to be drawn. If a card has a player draw more than one card at a time they are considered separate draws. Therefore, zeb should discard then draw one at a time 26 times.
He did. He discarded and drew every single card.
Chains is such a weird card imo.
At no point did I know how this game was going to end. Counterbalance definitely throws a wrench in the game, especially those who overlook it
Zeb got so boned this game, I always find myself rooting for him as a fellow Lotho enjoyer
Half of his opponents didn't have lands for half of the game, he drew like 20 cards from necropotence and it was his card that ended up ending the game in a very predictable manner.
march should have triggered niv mizzet ping phantasmal image triggering sacrifice. changes the game big time
Correct.
I have a crazy strong Xyris list, but I don't know that I'd call her CEDH, I do love my Temur lists and I do love my Xyris list, plentiful high power.
@8:56 why didn't tia just use the treasures to keep activating glinthorn buckaneer and win the game?
Was chains of mephistopholese stopping the combo?

Man that necropotence just refused to stay down. Came back 3 times I think? And counterbalance did a ton of work
what a drag. I am not sure what Zeb was hoping for of that Peer. I guess it was a hail Mary to find something to win. However it seems like he got knocked of his game plan and never managed to regain his footing. weird game

Surprised how few snakes actually came out 😅
Emma effectively prevented Zeb from going off multiple times. In addition, Johnny's deck wasn't kind to him.

I was tryna tell him about the peer 😂😂😭😭😭😭 colors were not kind to me but it was a fun game.
March should have triggered Niv Mizzit to ping the Image killing it. That Peer also felt like kingmaking with a Chains out. This game was very sloppy which happens but the title makes it feel pushed IMO
Shouldn't Emma have drawn through Niv-Mizzet in response to the March?
Yes.
Why not sac xyris to bombardment in response to gilded drake trigger?
Tia made my dream come true with a good competitive Xyris build.
what sleeves did Lotho use ?
Interesting Temporal Trespass alter, looks almost like Enter the Infinite
It was what he fetched first, until he realized that chains made it so he would have to discard his entire library. If only Zeb realized the same thing...
ironic, he could save himself, but not others..@@PlayingWithPowerMTG
Only slight issue ive seen so far is Johnny shouldn't have amassed. Since the birds of paradise was gone before the bowmasters ability resolved, the whole ability fizzles
Nah. It still amasses. It doesn't say "if creature died" or "if damage is dealt this way".
@@TheDaytun13 the abilities without legal targets don't resolve and are simply removed from the stack
Ah, the separation of the abilities makes that confusing. 😅
I came here to ask this EXACT question. Thank you
Correct. It doesn't amass. It's even in the rulings on Bowmasters. They just made a mistake.

This was a great game to watch. Much fun.
Turn 16…. Damn! They managed to drag stuff…
That Peer was really dumb.
grindfest. love it.
why use narset with xyris?
Does Drannith stop Commander Ninjutsu, or did Johnny just choose not to use Yuriko at several opportunities?
If you're referring to the beginning, I didn't have colors for the longest time. I took the hand to slow down the game cause I knew I wasn't coming out with a lot early game abs did not want to try my luck at 3 cards
shouldnt the cabal therapy be in exile due to be being discarded through necropotence?
Im yet to watch the episode but im so keen to see my sweet baby boy xyr on the show, its my only cedh deck and i cant wait to see this take on it
wTF is malcom and glint doing in a Xryis deck??
Combo? But I agree seems really lackluster.

Crazy you don't t1 fish
Didn't matter for the outcome but Peer should have taken 4 life from Zeb not 3 since it rounds up, no?
Beautiful, i love seeing stax like this, makes a prison player happy!
The amount of money on that table...
No t2 yuriko Mulligan away
Great game. Great variety.
Glad you enjoy it!
counter balance with another card of the game .... that card is soooooo strong
Crazy game
I’m so sorry for the fact Yuriko did not have time to shine in this game in my opinion 😔
Yeah, 16 turns. If only they had MORE time, lmao
@@blakerobinson4198 i agree with you, i was not talking about time but i was wondering why didn’t enter in play earlier! I was just… sad to not see yuriko, just that 😂
Try Zada!
Crap I forgot to use my patron powers and watch thus early. Now I'm watching it normally like some uncool person that doesn't support this channel :(
We still love you!
Need more Rocco
counterbalance mvp. i think Zeb gift the mach to tia whit this peer
worst yuriko player... keeps a hand with no 1 mana creature and 2 lands while one is collerless...
I feel like they gave Tia that game just because it was a charity stream. But it is fine, just pointing it out.
This morning it out
The endings lately have been really disappointing wow
3:15
Bowmasters etb fizzles with birds no longer being a valid target so amass 1 does not happen
Correct.

That's a really mean thing to say.
Huge punt and kingmaking by Zeb
Niv control may be the most boring cEDH deck to watch.
That's a really mean thing to say.
That peer didn't make sense
Is this an out of season april fools joke?
No, but if you say that because you didn't think the game was good, that's kind of a mean thing to say.
