The Entomb, RCE into Necromancy was super brutal. 😂
So glad Ryan remembered to cast his silence in his upkeep when he went for his win in game 3 since in game 1 he either discarded it in his endstep after he cast final fortune or just forgot he had it and died to Zeb both entombing and reanimating ranger captain to cause him to lose.
Displacerkittrn + toothy is pretty sweet huh.
God the Bolas Citadel win was so hot!
This is what I found
707.2. When copying an object, the copy acquires the copiable values of the original object's characteristics and, for an object on the stack, choices made when casting or activating it (mode, targets, the value of X, whether it was kicked, how it will affect multiple targets, and so on). The copiable values are the values derived from the text printed on the object (that text being name, mana cost, color indicator, card type, subtype, supertype, rules text, power, toughness, and/or loyalty), as modified by other copy effects, by its face-down status, and by "as... enters the battlefield" and "as... is turned face up" abilities that set power and toughness (and may also set additional characteristics).
Other effects (including type-changing and text-changing effects), status, and counters are not copied.

Summary?
@@sorensinsanity4411metamorph should have come in as a copy of elk, not kraum
@@ronthomp97 No, because Oko's ability doesn't create copiable values. Note that Oko's +1 isn't a copy effect: it's just setting characteristics, not turning the creature into a copy of something else.
You know, instead of seeing someone play Lotho and thinking “I don’t get it, so they must be dumb”, I would instead think “I don’t get it, but these people are very smart and good at the game so they must have reasonings that I am not privy to.”
Only seen Lotho win twice over what feels like half of the games on this channel
Yup @@ianmcabee8036
Lotho is my favourite cedh deck.
@@ianmcabee8036 I mean sure, but we also only see one or two of the games a video that are curated by the team to be as interesting as possible. We only really see one player trying Lotho consistently whereas Kinnan has constant deck refinement from a massive player basis. The PWP folks pretty consistently say that they respect the power of the deck, and they play against it far more than we see on the channel...
You can probably form arguments against each of the points I just made. That's not what I'm getting at here. It's not that there is a singular, definitive, immutable reason to play Lotho as a cEDH deck. It's that we don't know what the reasons are and they could be very good. The only thing we can do is speculate and I thinks it's a fallacy to assume the smart people aren't smart.
Lotho is so underrated
Go Zeb!! First time I've seen homie get a dub in a video with Lotho
Wow Zeb! Nice play game 1 shutting down Ryan! ❤❤❤
3 nice games! Some great plays there! ❤
Three games in one video??? Hell yeah!!!
Honestly, we have gotten so many good orzhov cards over the past year. I just think there needs to be a few more solid ones printed and lotho can be top tier!
11:04 "He casts Pir, Imaginary Friend." While technically not wrong...
Great video! Some very exciting and fun games
Abdel Bolas is my go-to line in Dihada! Great win
OMG that is actual factual power O.O Nice!
Loved seeing the variety of wins today. Games 1 and 2 were, for me, the best. Game 3 is just a standard win loop in most CEDH games these days, but always interesting to see how its pulled off 😄😃
Sick bolas citadel,
In the last game, Why not let resolve the consultation, and with the trigger of thassa on the stack, they cast two cards to make nabeel draw a card with kraum and loose?
Ryan: "We understand why Zeb likes having Lotho in the command zone. Doesn't mean we have to like it."😤
Oko's effect works similarly to Darksteel Mutation or, more aptly, Kenrith's Transformation. The base card is still the same, just been edited. Though, if Oko changed the name as well, the legendary rule would not apply, which is a funny interaction
Can a metamorph bypass through oko removal?
As from a reddit post I saw: "Oko elking something is a layer 4 (type), layer 6 (abilities), and layer 7b (P/T setting) effect. When you make copies of something, the copy is based off of copyable characteristics defined in layer 1, which Oko does not influence."
Ah yes. Layers. Such a fun feature of magic xD
@@serenastieveling What, do you think it would be better if Humility/Opalesence caused an infinite loop?
Not sure if it was intentional but it made me chuckle @14:31 when he said he moves to kraumbat
It’s a joke they use all the time when they Go to Combat for the first time with Kraum for first time. One of my favorite repeated jokes
Lab man baby!
so just a question on ruling - why does the copy of Kraum enter as the original version of Kraum? i thought it got elked 6:47
As from a reddit post I saw: "Oko elking something is a layer 4 (type), layer 6 (abilities), and layer 7b (P/T setting) effect. When you make copies of something, the copy is based off of copyable characteristics defined in layer 1, which Oko does not influence."
While it was explained with the technical rules, an easy way to think of copying is that the effect copies what was originally printed on the permanent itself. The elk is not what is printed so that is not what copies. I had to look it up as well because I didn't know that's how copying worked.
ty all for clarification
@@charlesmaillho367 I should probably mention that copying copies copiable values (yay for the sequence of very similar words), which copy effects do alter. So if you have an effect saying that A becomes a copy of B, and you copy A, you actually get another copy of B. (Not the case here, though!)
@@therealax6this makes less sense
Love toothy
Play more often with pyr & tooth
Wait how did consultation get countered ahead of ad nauseum on the stack?
You can choose what to counter on the stack: Swan Song hit the Demonic Consultation, then when Swan Song was resolved it was removed from the stack and Ad Nauseam resolved next. When you counter something or target something on the stack, it doesn’t always have to be the last thing that was added to the stack. This is why Deflecting Swat works, you “counter” a counterspell by changing the target of the counterspell to itself.
Guys I really love your channel and all your work but do you think you could show cedh games with a little more variety in commanders ?
It's always Tymna / Kraum / Ludevic / Lotho and like a pool of 5 others like rograth or Kinnan.
It's kind of always the same games unfortunately :'(. I know the meta pushes to play those commanders but it would be fun to see something different. Thanks for reading me, keep up the great videos ! love y'all
We are working on that now.
I think it’s fine. Competitive means competitive not high power . If you want high power games of less than optimal commanders, go else where
Game 3: Nabeel goes to Kraumbat
I want to play this pir and toothy list, but don't have a time twister, what could you sub in for that spot? naturally it's not ideal, but I don't have $4k.
Windfall?
@@thelastrebel13 it's already in the deck.
@breakingboxesmtg1585 hmm bad idea but mangus of the wheel? It's horrible but does roughly the same effect only one turn later 😕 and no graveyard shuffle
can someone explain to me how the counters stick to toothy again??
16:15 - couldn't Nabeel play Soul Cauldron first, activate it for a +1/+1 counter on Kraum, and finish Ryan off?
pir/toothy is cedh again??👀
Ryan had silence! Why didn’t he silence in response to entomb
Again with the Partner player pair
"Casts phyrexian tower" *Shows a command tower* haha
Could save a lot of time by just saying "Lotho triggers." I think we get it by the 20th trigger lol
ah yes lotho, the best cedh commander
I just cant get myself to enjoy cedh. There is no verity or differences between games/ tournments. 8 or ao decks makes up the meta and the use the same win lines every game. What am i missing?
Lotho seriously lowers the quality of the gameplay
Please explain why cause it stopped a win in game 1
@@N3VVZ0Mand win the game 2
@@N3VVZ0M any blue deck can do that Lotho can almost never do that. This is exceedingly rare if you watch more Lotho videos.
@@ianmcabee8036 so that is what makes it cool as hell, if you don’t like the content don’t watch simple as that
@@N3VVZ0M I'm commenting because I want them to improve the content so it will be more enjoyable and I'll watch more of it. That could be used as a blanket dismissal for any criticism of any form of entertainment. You can enjoy it and I can ask for it to be better.
Lotho is not cedh, every time this channel forces a Lotho he loses, please stop hahahaha. Even with one victory, is a bad choice
I personally think that most decks can be cedh, you just have to have the right mindset, and if Zeb thinks Lotho is his best chance at winning, he should play the deck. But yeah it doesn't win much
At least zeb is trying to do something interesting and not stick to the same boring blue farm, kinnan and atraxa. “Off-meta” picks still work if you know how to pilot your deck
Lots of Decks not being "meta" can wipe the table with your opponents, the Player behind makes the difference. We have quite a few decks in our playgroup not being Meta, Sure there is meta Stuff but not everywhere and all decks Perform quite good.
Koll, Tymma/thrasios-Hulk, Derevi Sisay, Tivit, Bluefarm, Urza, Dawnwaker, ob nixilis, selvala, sythis ... etc.
Different playstyles make every game fun :)
Let's encourage using the same decks instead of innovating nice 😂
Lotho is great in the 99 lol
Do we really need to say London mulligan every time? We know how mulligans works in magic.
You know, but others might not.
