  • While a cold-war scenario has dangerous political and economic implications, a race deeper into the cosmos, like any good rivalry, could be a huge benefit for space and other industries.

Thus far, the biggest difference between the US and China is that China sticking to their own plan laid down 15 years ago. Whereas the US gets a new plan every 4 to 8 years, depending on the presidency of that time.

Well, most of the first Space Race (if we count it up until the first moon landing in 1969) occurred on the Democratic administrations of Kennedy and LBJ (which were relatively similar when it came to NASA), with Kennedy being the one who claimed to want a man on the moon by the end of the 1960s, which he did not live to see
Only the initial fumbling was under Eisenhower's Republican administration, and the final wrap-up (as most of the work had been done by then) was under Nixon. There wasn't much changing of plans during that period

They are so pissed off, or jealous, or frightened because of China has achieved so much without taking their advices. So China has to be the country which stole, cheap, untrustworthy, etc, in order to make it an enemy. Funny thing, you can check the history and tell how many Non-western countries are really successful after they took the advices from western, check what happened in russia in the 1990s, check what happened in middle east, in east europe, in south america, in africa. They must have realized that China is successful is because China didn't take these 'warm and nice ' advices from western. So China has to be doomed.

@@KRYMauL I have a question that bothers me, why China wants the West to appreciate her. We and you are two completely different cultures, so why should China change its culture, which has been inherited for 5000 years, to suit you. Do you want the Chinese government to go against the wishes of 1.4 billion Chinese people to cater to Western culture and values? According to your logic, it makes sense for the West to change its values and culture to cater to China, which has a fifth of the world's population.

People you don't understand what is really happening in terms of global geopolitics. In fact it is not only about geopolitics anymore. Is more about ethnicity and cultural geopolitics. Han Chinese people are known to be extremely xenophobic. Their country has been known to be the Hermit Middle Kingdom for centuries due to their belief of China being the Center of the World and enclosing themselves from the rest of the world. Right now China has a population of about 1.4 billion people in comparison with the United States which only has 320 million people or something like that. It is known that in the entire world 1 of each 10 people is Han Chinese. The United States and Europe could eventually collapse due to unsustainable migration from poorer countries and neither China, South Korea or Japan as a considerable amount of foreign population living in their respective territories because they don't allow it (It's not acceptable in their culture). Not like in the United States or Europe. Speaking about Chinese culture they worship money. It is all about the money. It is considered casual in China to compare salary incomes with another Chinese person in order to date or to know which person is a better one. Money and opulence simply makes you a better person. The richer you are the worthier you are. What do you think will happen when China obtains global hegemony and starts to invade all surrounding countries for plundering and territorial annexation? They are already sending satellites into space in order to spy surrounding countries. Its going to become either a genocide or an apartheid. It is already happening in Xinjiang. Uyghurs live in some districts apart from those where Han Chinese live to discrimination. look for information.

For the US at least, it is indeed a race, not for the glory of humanity, but to maintain their own superiority and prevent themselves from being overtaken.

@Anthony Q The US never does anything for someone else's benefit lol. There is always something to be gained from their "helping", especially when it comes to foreign talent contributing to increasing their knowledge. China has always had great scientists and inventors throughout its thousands of years of history.
It's also worth noting that the US passed the "Chinese Exclusion Act" in 1882, discriminating against Chinese workers, because they worked harder for less than their jealous White colonist peers, thus making them more competitive in the mining job market. And this was not repealed until the 1940s.
The America of today is just repeating the realisation of fear and jealousy, currently trying to suppress the inevitable rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. If we look at China's history, great dynasties rise time and again, usually being the most wealthy and advanced of it's time. A feat not matched by any other civilization on Earth.

@Anthony Q Of course they do. They've been upfront about it from the start. China has always approached Africa with the mindset of business, respect, and mutual benefit. Unlike Western countries who butchered, enslaved and robbed Africa for hundreds of years. No matter what red herrings you throw, the truth of the matter is that the US has always been a genocidal self-serving user and abuser of other countries, and no amount of fake Hollywood hero movies can hide the reality from those who can think critically and intelligently for themselves.

    MALAY SUBTITLES : Part 3 of 3
    10:26
Tetapi satu dengan misi yang lebih bercita-cita tinggi berbanding sebelumnya.
    10:29
A.S. kini berusaha mengalahkan China kembali ke bulan
    10:32
untuk membina asas lunar, menuai sumber
    10:35
    10:48
    Saya berfikir bahawa rasa mendesak
    10:50
bahawa kita mendengar dari pentadbiran Trump
    10:52
    mengenai keperluan mempercepat program Artemis
    10:55
untuk sampai ke bulan menjelang 2024,
    10:57
    Saya rasa sebahagian daripada itu
    10:58
adalah kerana ancaman yang dirasakan dari China.
    11:01
    11:24
    Bulan terbesar Saturnus,
    11:26
dan pelancaran Teleskop Angkasa James Webb,
    11:28
    peningkatan ke Teleskop Angkasa Hubble
    11:31
    yang gambarnya mengubah pemahaman kita
    11:32
alam semesta seperti yang kita ketahui.
    11:37
    Cita-cita China dan A.S.
    11:39
mungkin bergantung pada berapa lama persaingan mereka berterusan.
    11:42
Sekiranya sejarah ada pelajaran, semakin besar persaingan,
    11:45
semakin jauh kedua-dua kuasa besar ruang
    11:47
cenderung untuk mendorong diri mereka sendiri.
    11:51
Matlamat keseluruhan dengan program angkasa China,
    11:53
Saya rasa, sesuai dengan Amerika Syarikat.
    11:57
China tidak mahu tunduk kepada A.S. di Bumi
    12:00
dan tidak mahu menjadi bawahan A.S. di angkasa lepas.
    12:02
Buat masa ini, rancangannya adalah untuk merapatkan jurang.
    12:06
    Dan jika anda melihat ini
    12:08
    dari perspektif strategik Amerika,
    12:10
kebimbangannya ialah China mungkin mengalami lonjakan
    12:14
    dalam bidang inovasi berteknologi tinggi
    12:16
itu akan menjadi yang paling penting
    12:17
dari segi memperkasakan inovasi dan produktiviti
    12:20
    pada abad ke-21.
    12:22
Dan itu mungkin boleh berubah menjadi kelebihan
    12:24
    di medan perang.
    12:26
Saya harus mengatakan bahawa juri benar-benar masih belum selesai
    12:29
dari segi seberapa berkesan China akan
    12:31
dalam menguasai inovasi dalam bidang ini.
    12:34
    Tetapi jika China terus kekurangan
    12:36
    ekosistem maklumat terbuka
    12:38
    yang biasa kita kaitkan
    12:40
    dengan kejayaan dan inovasi,
    12:42
mungkin masih ada halangan yang ketara
    12:45
    untuk mengekalkan dinamisme yang diperlukan
    12:47
untuk memacu inovasi dalam jangka masa panjang.

It was never China's intention to race with the US, but it was China's intention not to get bullied by the US or its dogs.
You can't bully someone and tell him/her "just live with it".

Beijing: We already have 35,000 kilometers of high-speed railway by 2019.
Washington: We already had 39,600 kilometers of highways in 1965.
So what does Washington want to express?
The U.S. highway in 1965 was faster than the Chinese high-speed rail in 2019?🤪

@@anshagrawal6289 Not in the US it's not. A combination of very large distances and general hatred for infrastructure spending (especially for something PUBLIC) means that trains are dead in the water. They're primarily used for freight - which has priority over passenger transport!
