the best video tutorial of arnold and enviroment mood in youtube, thanks Monica greetings from Colombia!
Wow, thank you! That's very kind and what part of Colombia? My mom is from Bogota.
Things used to be so easy in Mental ray. i did all my student work in MR, even night/day transitions, but that was back in 2013. Now, when i'm trying to make scenes, i have to learn all this anew. Arnold. Your tutorials are saving my life. i have happily subbed!
you must be a troll! :) Mental Ray was mental. Arnold and Vray 5 just works out of the box. Mental Ray.... you needed a uni degree just to switch on the lights :)

I just released something similar! ruclips.net/video/qIfkihpy61M/видео.html
Morning Monica!
Good morning! :)
Would anyone happen to know why it is my render cam shows one view in the viewport window, but shows things somewhat off in the render window?? E.g., the background / outside image plane is actually moved over to the right in the render, and it also appears to be a bit scaled. WT heck???
Super helpful! Appreciate your teaching style. Any chance you might make a video on lighting a short animation in Maya? Or any suggestions on where I could download an animation to practice lighting? Thank you!
Can u make more video on lightning in ARNOLD?
I have a whole playlist! ruclips.net/p/PLbxLlP-Vyt-_XJ952RLWK4GR7ZoLG-AfS Hope you like it :)

Thank you! :D
@cademic Phoenix Plus I never quite catched the difference between Exposure and Intensity, other than Intensity being more gentle and exposure more harsh. What I don't get is, why not just use one or the other, e.g. only Intensity. Isn't the effect the same cranking up Intensity to some exponentially higher value the same as adding exposure?
Hi there, hopefully this will explain it. The equation is: color * intensity * 2exposure
You can get the same output by modifying either the intensity or the exposure. For example, intensity=1, exposure=4 is the same as intensity=16, exposure=0. Note: 20 = 1, not 0.
1 * 1 * 24 = 16
1 * 16 * 20 = 16
My maya doesn’t do any of those things lmao.
If you have a current Maya, then it might be that your Arnold is turned off. Go to your Windows>Settings and Preferences>Plug-In Manager, and look for mtoa, turn them all on. That will active Arnold which provides the lighting/rendering so on. I hope that helps!
