- This is my unboxing of beautiful Red Wing Beckman Featherstone Leather.
My size is US 10 (EU 43) width E and I wasn't sure about the fit so I ordered US 9.5 (EU 42.5) and US 9 (EU 42). They both fit me well lengthwise but not in the width.
My foot length is 27.5 cm/ 10.8 inch (the same as Beckman US size 9 according to my measurement) but my width is 10.5 cm / 1.133 inch which is a bit too much for this shoe last - pretty narrow I would say.
My bones were visible through the silouette and it woldn’t look nice even after beak in those boots so I’ve decided to go for US 9.5 which is only 3 mm / 0.12 inch longer but also wide enough to feel a little snug on my toes - this means that the boots will break in nicely after some period.
I decided to insert thin insole because these boots came with no insole at all. They are more comfortable with the insole for sure. Keep that in mind when you chose your size. For me, at first I will use thin socks to break in those boots and after a while I will switch to ticker socks and I think this will be ok. Personally, I would be happy if the Red Wing had also E width. In that case I would go for size US 9 in E. Anyway, with Beckman boots it's the same like Thursday boots captains that I own. I also went for half a size down and it's fine for me.

is that an Aussie Shepherd? I have the exact same boots in 9.5.....it took a month of daily wear to break them in. now they're my favorite boots. I hate breaking new boots in
I have a thin pair of insoles in them which helps a tiny bit with the cushioning because they don't have any cushioning on the inside so anything helps. I'd buy them again but they don't make Beckmans any more

Good looking pup and boots, the dog was getting a sniff of that leather ! Could you tell me the length of your foot ? I measure 10 1/8 inch, wondering if the 9 with hiking sock would work for me? I've had some border collie mix sled dogs smart as can be. kind regards, Joseph

Thanks for the comment :) Yes, they are discontinued but you can still find them here and there. I bought mine at Cultizm.com and I recommend both the website and the boots!
