Sometimes you feature things I could really care less about or have no clue about but because of your personality, sense of humor, and presentation I end up watching anyway. "ah hem ah hem"...Emmy is by far the most adorable youtuber, her reviews are always clear and I like the fact that she posts videos of when she makes mistakes and doesn't edit them out. Big fan from Australia
Love Tate’s chocolate chip cookies. I usually like mine like you do, crispy outer edge and kind of chewy/cakey inside, or like Specialty cookies. Ugh I just love chocolate chip cookies anyway they come. LOL
we buy these cookies so often, and it’s the only kind my entire family can eat! (due to allergies and whatnot). the homemade version looks amazing! i’ll be sure to give it a try! thank you, emmy!
Love the glasses!! I might add butter scotch chips to might OR mint chips. But i have been wanting to make peanut butter cookies with chocolate chips as well!
This is for sure the cookbook I have been wanting to come along. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. I cook a lot of our products that we eat homemade now and there’s just some things that I needed recipes for. One Nutter butters for my dear husband. Two Oreos for me. Three thin mints for everyone. And I agree that McDonald’s apple pie situation looks amazing! I just got the cookbook in my Amazon cart.
You have the best videos ever, Emmy! You are a wonderful teacher and researcher. I'm not sure if you've considered home educating your boys full time, but they would be sooo lucky if you did.
Hi Emmy!!!! I love watching your videos, of course because you have a gentle soul, fun personality, and quirky style! But I also watch you because at times I need to. You see I was diagnosed bipolar schizophrenia disorder with anxiety. When I'm having a bad day I just watch Mrs. Emmy💖 & everything becomes ok🙂. I really enjoy your calmness and how you enjoy what you're doing. I want to say thank you Mrs. Emmy for doing what you do. Help! I can't find the recipe you are using in the bravetart book, that's not the Chocolate Chip COOKIES which make a chewy cookies in the beginning section ToT
You have to try the frozen pot pie apple pie with vanilla ice cream . Take 4 mins in the micro and it has a crisper circle that actually crisps up the crust .. yummy !! They are made by Banquet .
Did you say Brave TARP at 1:22? Sounds like the way words come out of my mouth sometime. :) Love the recipe, your descriptive review, and Stella's book too!
I just make choco chip cookies yesterday 😍 I use my mom's special recipe, I don't know where she got it from but it's the perfect cookie! I like my cookies to be the perfect medium, not to thin, definitely NOT puffy, and crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. Then dunk them in milk!!!!!
Your homemade ones look so yummy! Nothing beats a homemade chocolate chip cookie!! Store bought had cheep chocolate, baking soda, high fructose corn syrup...
I want to thank Emmy so much for letting American's know that good quality chocolate in your baked goods is essential! ESSENTIAL ... Single handedly changing the cooking profile of home made stuff. (ok, Stella .. soo good recipe, thanks so much for this!!)
I like using a combo of cake flour and all purpose in mine. You have to weigh them however because they don’t measure 1:1 in cups. If that makes sense?
I like crispy, chewy cookies. Homemade is ALWAYS the best. What makes a crispy cookie? Baking soda. What makes a soft cookie? Baking powder. Many years of cooking and baking have taught me this lesson. Next time Emmy, try substituting cream of tartar for the baking soda. They will be light and crispy, like a pressed, crispy sugar cookie.
My name is Tate. A lot of people say to me, "Tate, like the cookies?" ...I've never seen these cookies before until this video. Those do look good. I learned something today.
Tates originated here on Long Island. A little girl sold them from her families farm stand. She grew up and so did her business. These cookies were much bigger and they came stacked in a clear plastic bag with a twist tie on top. The company has since been sold and the cookies shrank in size significantly and are sadly not the same as they were from the farm stand days...
Stella has the best recipes, definitely the best homemade version to compare to the store bought version of any dessert. Her freeze dried fruit cheesecake was so good too!
I tried tried this recipe today from Stella's website, and these are good, but not crumbly like Tate's. I think maybe it was the butter I used (Kerrygold), which made them a bit greasy.
My favorite stand alone chocolate chip cookies are very much like yours- slightly chewy, with that crisp, crunchy outer rim. That said, I bet these would be lovely for ice cream sandwiches. They’d likely lose a bit of their snap, and have a really nice bite to them. Worth a try.
my fave cookie is a type of brookie instead of making circle or cookie shapes i make them in a brownie pan and cut them into cubes their so good i think i have a video on my cannel to see that ... smooches
1:59 If you ever take a trip to Hawaii, McDonald's there still sells their pies fried, not baked. [: This is because when they tried to switch to baked pies, sales plummeted way more than they did on the mainland so they had to keep the fried version to maintain profits.
I love homemade chocolate chip cookies! I prefer my chocolate chip cookie texture to have a slight chew but almost cake like texture. Thank you so much for sharing great video!
The inside of McDonalds Pies used to be made with flavored potatoes. I wonder if they've changed it and how one would adapt that into a home made version if they haven't.
I made chocolate chip cookies Thursday ( just the toll house recipe) they were gone the next day! 😂 I may have sampled one or two when they came out of the oven! 😬😊
I will always agree a homemade cookie is by far better than a store cookie. But, there is a chance that the tates cookies might have not been very fresh either. I work in a bakery and in a matter of just two weeks you can tell a big difference from a cookie that was just made. The only difference of course would be the “crunch” everything else would still be the same. Would be interesting to do a fast update of one of those homemade cookies after it set for a couple weeks and see if you find much difference in them
These are very similar to my mom’s homemade chocolate chip cookies. We call them scab cookies cause they look scraggly and weird but they’re always delicious.
Um, got the cookbook. Which recipe are you working with here? Under Classic American Desserts or under Classic American Brands??? You motivated me to get the cookbook, now I have to figure out this recipe.....and where it is. On the internet...Serious Eats. Now I have the cookbook and some online recipes to put in it as well. :-)
I saw a video where a guy broiled his cookies for about a minute before baking them so that the centers didn't look doughy. They were golden like the edges of the cookie but skill soft and chewy.
Emmy, I love Tates chocolate chip cookies. I hit the link and bought Stella's book but I cannot find the recipe for Tates cookies. Can you help me out with the location in the Bravetart book?
Large cookie that is crispy on the outside, but is chewy on the inside. Yeahhhh. My kind of cookie.
i was just gonna say that lol
Perfect! With mixed chocolate to add a punch. I use a mix of semi-sweet, dark, and milk chocolate in my cookies. :)

Six weeks? A cookie don't last six seconds in my house. 😋🍪
I'm old, my folks are older, maybe 2 days...;) !

Right ill make a whole tray just for me.
Peanut butter cookies with white chocolate chips are my _favorite_
I know. Saying cookies can last 6 weeks is already theoretical physics in my book. Very theoretical!! :-)

All the cookies...
in the words of Mr. C monster "Cooookies"!!
My favorite chocolate chip cookies are the ones within arm’s length

What? Do you eat cookies without raisins? 😯
Eljijo Debuta raisins are meant to be on the side not inside
