Yeah
The best "simple" metal rig I've come across is an Amptweaker Tight Metal Pro pedal (actually a preamp) into a Boss DD-500 Delay. You can plug the Amptweaker into the power amp section of any decent tube amp and it'll sound just like an oldschool 5150. The DD-500 Delay (which also has Mod effects) can go into one of 3 loops on the Amptweaker so it can be triggered whenever you engage the preamp or it's built in boost. If you want to go direct, just add a Mooer Radar, Sans Amp, or Two Nots C.A.B. M at the end. If you need a wah, then there's the Dunlop Mini Cry Baby. Right around $1,000, and it'll all fit on a mini Pedaltrain.

If you want to downsize your rig, just use Mooer ! The GE200 is great if you need effects, but if you all need is a gate, an OD and a boost, the Preamp Live is even smaller and sounds better ! Just a Babybomb power amp and good to go ! (I'm aware that you know these products already, but you can't go smaller than that !)

Nice VLOG. Every time I think about downsizing (a couple Mooer pedals and Morley Wah) I always go back to the AX8. I see you have 8 scenes on the AX8. What is the setup?
This was great! You mentioned traveling with equipment but not how the 5150 and cabs arrived. Curious on how that works? Did you rent, barrow, etc?

That was great to watch :) thank you for filming it. Do you normally use a multi-effects unit? And do you ever take a small practice amp with you where you go for short practices in the hotel rooms? I tended to look like the junk lady in Labyrinth when I took my gear with me on trips round the country. :P hahaha.

Ace fx8 direct out into board or hired amps?
You say you want to downsize, how about atomic amplifire or even smaller boss gt1 or Mooer ge200. Gt1 and Mooer you may need to tweak loads as I have no idea if they are any good in a professional setting on stage.

Hey Ola, did you use a fx loop in your presets to amp+cab on stage and main out to foh from the ax8? The mic at the cab is triggering me how you get your stuff in the foh :D Thanks :)
