- Our barn find 1986 ford f250 restoration is almost done! We swap out a leaking power steering system, put in suspension drop brackets to fix the front axle alignment, replace the carpet and clean out the interior, and install the exterior trim.
We have been working really hard on this and can't wait to show you the final result!
Your channel inspired me to start my own and to fix my old truck thank you so much
Just watched your entire series about the truck! I bought a 1988 F250 XLT Lariat and I want to do all and everything y’all did! Great job
Thanks for watching! Hopefully we were some good inspiration for your project!
Hey! I just found your series and have been watching through. I just got an 85 F250 Super Cab, Diesel, and I love seeing the progress and getting ideas from your videos. We're going to be pulling the bed this weekend so I can grind, paint and repair. My big honkin' unit is a bit of a rusty mess, but still sturdy. And she has 80's goodies from Centurion. Can't wait to see the rest!
That roofing material hack is really cool
I put the same roofing material across the floor, but also up the back, then under the door panels.. amazing sound deadening. I found a gauge cluster at a salvage yard, with tachameter.. odometer only 2k off mine. While cleaning the inside of the bezel, I painted the faded orange gauge hands blue.
Just found the channel at the start of this build and watched all of these videos. Not only is it entertaining it is also very helpful. I have started my restoration on my 86 f250 diesel these past few months. Currently 3/4 through the sanding job. You guys did a excellent job on this truck! Keep up the great builds!
Thanks! The diesels are so cool. Wish we would have found one. What color are you doing?
The Bad Timing Club It’s getting gloss black. Hopefully it will be finished in a couple weeks!
@@jesterr11gaming81 nice, that's going to look great!
New York?! Hope you and your close ones are good. Be safe and the best to you guys. Great Video!
Thanks! We are upstate, about 6 hours from NYC so it's not as bad here thankfully. Glad you enjoyed!
Where abouts in upstate? Looking to move there in the near future (just don’t know where yet)!
Great job on the interior getting it cleaned up.
Thanks! Was a pretty easy job since it was in great shape to start with. Rockauto had the carpet for really cheap so it was not hard to get it looking like new.
Been enjoying this series a lot. I have an old 96 F250 I’m working on that used to be a city work truck. I got my 4 ton jack stands are harbor freight. $99 for two of you need some bigger ones for a good price. They are surprisingly pretty nice.
My 86 f150 has a 6 inch suspension lift and a 5 inch body lift and my camber has to be fixed as well but it's drivable. Love the videos, keep up the great work
Hey BTC, just wanted to pass along a little info on the Twin Traction Beam front axle. To get and keep proper alignment, make sure that the pivot bushings are good or replaced, same with axle bushings. Those TTB axles are notorious for not keeping alignment. Also, you may need an alignment shop to check your caster bushing/shim, it is MOOG part number K8709, front camber/caster bushing.
The truck came out phenomenal, absolutely love that you two did this as a home built project. Looking forward to more projects in the future.
Thanks for sharing! I checked our pivot bushings and luckily they were still solid. I also replaced the bushings in the knuckle later on. Someone had installed the most aggressive camber bushing to try to make up for the lift, and once we got the drop brackets in it was overcompensated.
@@TheBadTimingClub, I'd say you got it squared away. That beautiful truck is worthy of a spot at the All Ford truck jamboree in Carlisle Pennsylvania, you two should make an appearance this summer, I know I'd love to see it up close.
Very nice truck for sure 👍 lots of work. I just wish your camera was a bit better.
It has a soft haze that kinda covers up small details. Awesome truck and a great video!
I’ve been a subscriber for a while
Nice video! Just subbed!
Sweet glad you guys got it running, I’m getting my 84f150 with a 302 in it running if your remember me from the other f250 build videos
Yeah, that's great! Thanks for following along. I love the little community we have built around these trucks.
The Bad Timing Club yeah it’s great
I just bought the same truck for 5 dollars. I plan to do the same colors you did.
$5? How did you manage that?
Not many of those 7th generation Ford F-series pickups on the roads anymore like there use to be back in the day.
I have a 3 questions if it's not the problem ...1)What paint did you guys used , 2) where did the truck come from because I don't see upstate rust.. lol , 3) what part of the NY you guys are..
Good job with the truck 👍👍👍👍.
We used acrylic urethane single stage paint. The blue is from TCP Global, and the cream is from Eastwood. The Eastwood paint was definitely the higher quality of the two, but we were happy that TCP had the blue color we were looking for.
We are in upstate NY, closer to Canada than NYC. The truck is from our area as well, but was a barn find, so it didn't have too much rust on it, considering the usual state of vehicles up here.
Are you from NY as well?
@@TheBadTimingClub
Yes I'm from Rochester
Thanks for responding , you really did a great job with the truck , I also do project cars in my free time when I have any... Lol.
oh my goodness i live in upstate ny and also have an 86 f250 but mine has a 302 and c6 automatic
What paint and brand did you guys use? How much did it cost to paint?
Eastwood for the primer and cream, and maybe TCP (?) for the blue. Eastwood was definitely better. Spend as much as you can on paint. You do really get what you pay for there
Hope y'all are well
Thanks! As you may have guessed, this was filmed last summer. We are hanging in over here now, waiting for the last snow to let up and the sun to come out.
How do you attach the trim pieces?
Where did you get that nice flooring?
Rockauto had it with way better prices than anyone else
Man this project turned out awesome. I have an 86 f250 and live in upstate ny also. What was your guys ball park final cost?
We are planning on doing a video on the final cost to break it all down, so hang in there for that! What part of upstate? You dont see too many bull noses around.
The Bad Timing Club oh cool, I’ll stay tuned. I’m way upstate about an hr and a half north of Syracuse. up in cow country lol
Where did you get that floor mat?
Can I ask a rough estimate of how much this cost? Thanks.
I used roof flashing like that in my car in Arizona and it literally melted and ran all over the place. It'll probably be fine in NY though.
👍🏼
Check Your steering Box you could have it too tight
Bitchathane is the material, for windows
