    Looks awesome, proper highboy. We ended up getting that 1970 reef aqua f250 camper special. We body swapped it onto a 67 highboy frame. The highboy was only $250 from the junkyard We go to.

    I finally found a '76 disc brake front for my '74. Looking forward to no more leaking knuckles. Love the tires, I run the same size and rim combo on mine.

      I have heard a few times over the years from old timers. Pack the closed knuckles with grease instead of oil to help.

    I love the factory steel rims. It's my pref.

  • @rossawood5075
    @rossawood5075 2 месяца назад +1

    Possibly easiest and best way to strip wheels would be wet or bead blasting the rims, easier on the hands, I'm 72 and restoring 2 Australian right hand drive high boys, also have original 16.5 " rims with BF Goodrich All terrains 33 x 12.50 R 16.5 but will be using a set of original 16 inch rims off a 2WD dentside F 250.
    The wheels do look great, congratulations!

    • @southernrevivalautomotive
      @southernrevivalautomotive  2 месяца назад

      @@rossawood5075 I would agree. However we did not know if we would like the look or not. Years of painting for a living taught me a lot, mostly the high quality process Ford used with its state of the art products. I would prefer using the OEM primer and scuff if it is in good condition.
      Media blasting is far superior than sand blasting. Does not remove any metal or disturb its surface. Great to get feedback on your projects. As last week at F100SuperNationals a fellow Ford truck enthusiast expressed building a RHD Dentside. Cheers Mate.

    Beautiful old dentside! The steel rims do set the looks off- another option would have been the classic white spoke "wagon wheels" that were popular in the Seventies. I'm actually considering a set of those on my Oxford white 2015 F-250, since I'm going for an old-school look to her.

    I like the those rims on it I am getting a 73 highboy Saturday it’s going need a engine rebuild but I like the color it’s dark blue on the top and light blue on the bottom of the body it’s going to need to be re-painted though but it’s body looks pretty clean
