I'll admit, once I hear that David was ok with Kiefer being Big Boss, I'm ok with it all
That's him just being professional, it has nothing to do with how he _really_ felt at being dismissed by Kojima/KONAMI. Most people in professional positions will put on a smile and laugh it off when they get screwed over. It's part of the job but, it doesn't mean they don't feel hurt, get upset or bothered by things. They're people like everyone else.
***** David Hayter actually explained how he felt in an IGN interview. He said that he wasn't angry at being replaced by Kiefer, because he does really respect Kiefer. But he was very bothered how the developers handled it because apparently they never even told him or contacted him about it. David had to approach them and be like "Sooo I'm not the voice of Snake anymore?"
Why would he hate kiefer he just took a role but konami kicked him out he has beef with them

I actually think Keifer NOT playing Big Boss kinda makes sense, would have been perfect if David played the real Big Boss in the last mission, though.

After watching this, I'm glad that he has no animosity towards Kiefer Sutherland for voicing Snake in Solid V. In case anybody didn't know, if you've watched the '90s Spider-Man cartoon, he voiced Captain America near the end of the series.
Nice trivia tidbit! We are glad too; but he's too classy of a guy to have hate towards Keifer despite being told in a crummy way. It is business after all.

It kills me I'll (probably) never get to see you do mocap in the Fox Engine. I'm sure you could handle it, buddy - I don't give a damn what critics have said about you being a "voice actor" and not a "screen actor."

An animated character needs a voice actor, not a "real" actor, and if you get a big name, you end up with the Keifer situation, the character has barely any lines in the game because the studio cant afford him.
About the mokap, yup, a shame, however, Big Boss looking "odd" in MGSV makes canonical sense because, well, he wasnt Big Boss, but a dude who had plastic surgery.

The problem with adapting Shadow Moses is that the actor playing Snake has to play him both Snake AND Liquid.
Jackman was the perfect choice in mid-00s, though.
I allways kind of imagined that the reason Solid Snake and Big Boss sounded the same was because they were both heavy smokers :P Solidus and Liquid did not smoke that much, and not at all respectivly.... :P

And yes, he is the ideal choice to write the movie, Kojima wouldnt aprove (he has something against him for some reason, he is probably jealous), but Konami are the ones deciding who they should hire, not Kojima.

Love david but im glad big boss has his own voice now . Hayters point that there clones and should have same voice is wrong by that notion solid , liquid , solidus should all have same voice . while solid and liquid were created using the genes from big boss neither are clones both have different genes . The only one who should sound identical to big boss is solidus as he was a direct clone

I wish you didn't mute the audio when the fans are asking the questions. It's a little awkward listening and then it goes quiet forcing me to read. I don't mind having the question written out, but I'd like the audio too.
19:18 That is 100% Kris Zimmerman, the casting direction of the MGS games.
The only thing he needed to give Big Boss in MGS4 was projection and less gravel. Where as Solid Snake has always been quite soft speaking in his own way Big Boss since Outer Heaven would have developed a powerful and authoritative way of speaking that enthralled everyone within earshot of him. Similar to Gene in Portable Ops only instead of it being ESP it would have merely been his incredible presence.

I think Sutherland should stick as Big Boss, but hayter will always be Solid Snake. And the "they're clones" argument is pretty bullshit considering Liquid, a clone superior to Solid, and Solidus, the PERFECT clone, were both different voices.

Ashley Nomaly yea but Big Boss was hardly in it. I know Venom didn’t have a lot of lines either but still makes sense. Would have been nice to do it but if the voices were different in the same game the twist would have been ruined

I assume it was probably because alot of these people took so long trying to word their questions/getting to the point and here we just get the important information, question + answer. A lot of people would get bored of all the waffle and probably stop watching the video (short attention spanned people of the modern age who need instant gratification, ie: no patience...)

The reason for this was the person asking question often stumbled and took up to 5 mins to ask the question. We saved you time by cutting that out and summarizing it into 1 simple question.
