That temple was built in the Vesara style of Indian temple architecture, specifically of the Hoysala school. The Hoysala Dynasty was initially a princely state of the Kalyani Chalukya Empire. However, with weakening of central authority, the Hoysalas claimed independence in the 1170s and ruled southern and central Karnataka along with northern Tamil Nadu. Most of the larger Hoysala temples were destroyed by the Turkic invaders, like the Nageshwara Temple in Dwarasamudra (Halebeedu). This Chennakeshava Temple was one of the last temples to built in the Hoysala style before the Turkic invasion and the eventual rise of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 14th century.

All the very best for you India tour..... Being an Indian, I'm very proud of my country. But, take care and try not to stop in any rural areas, especially when traveling north and central India. South of India is very safe for touring. I don't want my guests to get into any trouble. Again take care, travel safe..... 👍👍❤❤
11:35 The money discussion. Setup UPI already. Foreigners can also setup UPI in India. No once carries cash or card now. Just your phone. Do you see those QR codes even on the small tea stall on the roadside, that is how India pays. Less hassle.... less tension of carry money around. There should be some agency in most large towns who can help you set this up. Am expecting there will be charges to transfer money from your UK/Europe banks to the UPI. Just see what works cheaper and go from there. If the business does not charge you for the international transaction that is excellent thing, they absorbed their side of the chargers. But remember your bank may have international charges for you. Mine has and its pretty expensive.
Yes they can but only at certain locations where passports are verified. It’s possible to do at Mumbai airport but at this point we did not know about it. For a few weeks we just used cash so no big deal apart from the entrance to this temple!! 🤣

Sad to see it’s not a functioning temple 😢 That temple was destroyed several times by Islamic invaders in the Hoysala period. Malik Kafur destroyed it in 1311 and Muhammad Bin Tughlaq destroyed the remaining structures in 1326. Some parts of the temples were restored by Vijayanagara Kings in the 15 th century & later by the Wodeyars. The repaired temple was again damaged in the 19th century. It’s a non ending cycle of destruction & repair. Wish I could see the original temple. You see destruction in every ancient temple. Our ancient art and architecture suffered the most due to iconoclasm. What a loss for humanity.
Maybe if it was a functioning temple we wouldn't have been able to share it. It's been restored very well over the years. Unfortunately the entire world has lost so many amazing relics from the past.
Beautiful temple, looks like every square inch is carved, its an incredible masterpiece. Aren't you hot with heavy clothing and boots suited for cold climate. However, they maybe necessary for safety and protection while on motorbike.

What you see men wearing here is called the "lungi" or "mundu". It's like the sarong worn by Indonesian men.
Looks good for the warm weather 👍🏻
All the very best for you India tour..... Being an Indian, I'm very proud of my country. But, take care and try not to stop in any rural areas, especially when traveling north and central India. South of India is very safe for touring. I don't want my guests to get into any trouble. Again take care, travel safe..... 👍👍❤❤
Thanks, India is a beautiful country filled with kind people. We appreciate your concerns and we thank you 😊🙏
Beautiful to see those temples in the beginning of this episode, amazing all the detailed craftsmanship that has gone into it. Nice end btw -;)
Hey Paul. Yeah these places are fantastic -so awesome to see architecture so contrasting to what we are used to 😊
Having shoulder straps inside the riding jacket is such a genius thing to have. I wish other jacket makers did it.
Yeah it’s fantastic! Great to throw off the jacket and not have to hold it or put it on the floor 😎👍🏻
Kannada architecture is very intricate
It sure is 😊👍
Your videos are just breath of fresh air!
Wish you a very happy journey 🙏
Thanks for watching and we are loving the journey too! 😊🙏
Come Tamilnadu and come thanjavur big temple is world best place and historic place
Thanks for the tip 😊👍🏻
Thanks for visit 😊❤ love you brother and sister 😘❤️
So glad you enjoyed it! 😍
5:40 it is lord krishna.
Thanks 😊🙏
22:40 Sometimes u have " free left" even in red lights , cz u can take turns easily without disturbing the main intersection
Ah okay, didn't see any signs so wasn't sure 😎👍
@@SeanandEmily Oh...no you don't need to do this as airport. There will be third party service provider in cities. Please ask other tourists if you see them use UPI.
Its called UPI ONE WORLD, there will be banks/fin-agencies in large cities who can set it up for you.
Awesome vlog guys....tqs for exploring our hindu architecture special tqs for visiting my hometown 😊😊😊😊
Thanks very much! It was a very special experience for us too so thanks 😊🙏

Came to Shravanabelagola,
world's biggest monolithic statue of Bhagavan Bahubali
Sounds great 😊🙏🏻
That’s a nice hotel, guys! I’ve been to Mysore a few time and not seen that. Again, nice riding Sean!
Thanks! We found that hotel a bit by chance - great offer on hotel.com.
Indians didn't visit any ancient sites ,even Indian government didn't show any interest to protect those sites especially those sites related with hindu religion,i am very happy that u ppl have interest in exploring those ancient sites , temple, architecture of india ,i just want to say thank you
Yes the more interest there is the more sights that will be preserved for the future 😊🙏
Love from Mysore... happy journey both of you ❤
Thank you so much 😊🙏🏻
Sad to see it’s not a functioning temple 😢
That temple was destroyed several times by Islamic invaders in the Hoysala period.
I am really enjoying this vlog. Thank you for taking us along 🎉
Hey Luke, glad you enjoyed it 😊🙏🏻
Watched your Mumbai video and binge watched all your videos☺️

I have been to this temple!! Thanks for covering it again :)
It's a truly magnificent place, isn't it? 😊🙏
@@SeanandEmily Yes, Those intricate carvings are mesmerizing. Please don't miss Jaganmohan (Art gallery & Palace)
Beautiful temple, looks like every square inch is carved, its an incredible masterpiece. Aren't you hot with heavy clothing and boots suited for cold climate. However, they maybe necessary for safety and protection while on motorbike.
The way you filmed is nice too. 👍
The temple was amazing to see!! Not too hot as they have good ventilation ...only problem is when we stop in traffic 🤣
Super Sunday Sean and Emily, Marc Travels and Itchy Boots :)
Thanks! hope you had a great evening 😊🙏
Finally finished the entire India series and caught up to the latest one. Looking forward to more. Loved the positive vibe throughout. Emily is good at finding these hotels for £40-50 a night, such incredible value. An easyhotel in Croydon sets you back like 80 a night last minute. You’re also a really good patient rider Sean really enjoyed watching you navigate + the camera-audio setup is excellent, couldn’t be better. You have kinda inspired me to ride around the world one day. Ride safe 👌 gained a sub 🇮🇳🕉️
Hi, wow thanks for watching and catching up on the series! -we need to get you some new episodes ready 😁 We really appreciate your positive feedback and look forwards to sharing more. Yeah Emily is great at finding hotels and at these prices the quality of hotel is amazing - yeah we found out how expensive the UK is for hotels last year when we toured the country!
Thanks very much and we are happy to have you with us 😎🙏
Here's the UK playlist in case you are interested in that:

Thanks very much!! It’s a great way to see the country 😊👍🏻
Jeezs the work time for all these intreciate details is indeed mind blowing
Eitched in stone literally
Recording history ideas etc
Yeah the craftsmanship is incredible 🙏🏻
@SeanandEmily
But we got Stone Hedge
I think it a place where some outer solar entity visited and left some sacred energy
I was told by a Hindu priest
There's a difference between Holy and Sacred
Holy is a place where the energy is created by us Humans
Scared is some higher astral being creating the Energy
Irony
I ran in to this Hindu priest of all places
You guessed it mate
Stone Hedge.
Like that, a good explanation of holy and sacred! We didn't really get the same feeling at stone henge lol ....might have been the £30 entrance fee 😝
@@SeanandEmily
LoL ROFL
Got you mate
The £ blocked the vibes ,distorted the frequency
But since we became christianized etc the energy might be suppressed
But there's been gatherings at Stone Hedge trying to revive things
namastey.........video was just awesome
love from rajasthan india
