She does. However, i do understand the 1st impression thing which mistakes people into believing she's not. It is a humane thing than Indian i guess since i've seen similar feedbacks from Japanese-Americans and few others eg: In India, people also automatically assume a person is from a particular state based on looks. They don't generally mean it in a good or bad way though.
well it is same if someone from India living abroad, in first instance you tend to think he/she is an outsider. Similar goes her way. But she is very very Desi, for not even a single second you feel that she is an outsider. She has totally imbibed that Desipan. She is very true for her observance. Not only foreigners but Bhartiya public can get frustrated with several things but in the end it is our country and it is on the way of transforming. Thanks @MaxChernov for this conversation, I always look forward for your videos, very enlightening to look at your country from non natives perspective.
Awesomeeeee. The moment she said "Sanskari" and "Jugaad" I knew she is one of us. Max, my wife is a Portuguese citizen and we live in Bangalore for some years. Hit me up if you would like to interview her.
One of the best interviews on this channel how she is born and raised in India and knows India by heart. Good job @Max Chernov i am addicted to your channel now. The lady has captured India essence very beautifully. I wish her all the best.
@@MaxChernov one thing I want to say if you are came to India to interview other foreigner. Before the interview just say this to all the people if anything happens just report to the police and they will take care of those predators who are doing this kind of things against women so many people from foreign if they came to India they will use such a thing to protect themselves and the same time product others. Just not there registration number bike or car whatever it is.
She'll be considered like a Delhite by looks in Goa even though she's white. And when she speaks Konkani she's 100% Goan. Goa is awesome, no place like it.
Feels like a rollercoaster balancing cultural differences and personal identity, but the grind and freedom sound next-level. Props for making it work and finding peace in such a complex mix of challenges!
Thats cool. Her accent is spot on Indian. Great to see her not giving up, despite the challenges. Foreigners cannot easily integrate in India, though their language skills may be excellent, not just because they stand out by skin color, but also because while they learn local culture beautifully , they havent let go of European values. They are living a dual identity. The modern Indian is fine with that, the traditional Indian might reject it. Purity is a big obsession with traditionalists, so it's all or nothing, with them. I know what she means by the 'wild indian' side. People dont like following the rules, as in other societies - they will try to do it their own way..if it saves time, hassle or money. Its not rebelliousness, more about dealing with their limitations. . For eg, you see vehicles carrying iron rods or other construction material in unsafe ways - thats just those who cannot afford a proper truck, so it becomes 'jugaad' - or ' make it happen'. Rules are also loosely enforced so they know they can get away with it. Thats the reason for the chaos you see everywhere.
She will be Indian even she had once lived in India. But being in India since childhood how she think that she is not Indian maybe that persists in Goa, but not in the other part of country. For us she is an Indian and integral part of our culture. Kudos to @MaxChernov for making such good contents 🙌❤
For me she is as much Indian as myself. Her accent is typical Indian, she speaks local langauge, lived almost all her life here, just that skin colour and natioanality on paper is Italian.
Our bureaucrats are corrupt as hell, it's very difficult to do business in India, every goddamn idiot will try to harass you for bribes. On top of it our judiciary is an absolute joke which takes decades to pass a judgement. Kudos to her trying to live in India and adapting to our culture.
Because she doesn't wish to give up on her italian citizenship by birth as india doesn't support dual citizenship, she can get an OCI which idk why she hasn't applied for.
In one statement she said, every Six months she needs to renew the Business visa. In another statement she says her husband is a Goan. I wonder why she is not able to get OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card! She can easily get OCI, which will get rid of her all visa hassles. I was quite surprised with her Hindi and especially with Goan Konkani.
Because she doesn't wish to give up on her italian citizenship by birth as india doesn't support dual citizenship, she can get an OCI which idk why she hasn't applied for.
I wonder why she doesn't apply for Indian citizenship so she doesn't have to worry about a visa anymore. The downside is that she will have to surrender Italian citizenship as India doesn't allow dual citizenship.
I feel uneasy knowing a person who spend her whole life in India and still feel Indians don't think she is Indian. If you think about it, while the comments are supportive of her as an Indian and she belongs here. Everyone knows, The whole of India whenever she travels, will be seen as a foreigner. It is obvious that we have a outsider mentality due to colonialism and we are not used to as a generation living among those who look different than us. This will change for sure. And India will be more inclusive of Foreign born nationals.
Great Italian origin lady living comfortably in India...on the other hand, we have our great Italian Lady Sonia & her pappu living in India but helping Soros, china & deep states...really like India, Italy must have incredible...hai na😂
Max, greetings from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. Please correct me if I am wrong, many women in India 🇮🇳 is heavily prejudiced, or sexually harassed and degraded no matter what cast women are in, or even girls sold off for marriages. How does she feel about this ? Does she feel an advantage being a foreigner in India 🇮🇳
Nobody is "sold off for marriage". Not denying sexual harassment exists and its not by no definition a good thing and cannot be justified in any manner. But, it exists in other countries as well - be it US, or S.Korea or Italy. Where do you get these ideas of women being sold off ?
There are women who are so free they misuse the legal system against men. These are the minority. There are women who suffer domestic abuse and economic dependance. They are more in the lower socio economic classes and villages. Most women live average lives, working or being home makers, not acknowledged for their manual labour at home enough but not overtly abused. Sexual abuse and trafficking is as bad as most of the neighbouring countries or the less notorious South American I'd say. I'm sure every Indian women has a story of being ogled at as would every woman in HK. Gender equality is high in few pockets of the cities and still developing in the most traditional parts of the country. At the same time there are matriarchal tribes and communities that are v small. It's diverse but not every woman lives in fear of trafficking unless she goes to the high risk areas. Some states may have no such areas. In fact it is the border states that have more.
No one is sold for marriage. Some parts of the country is difficult for women but not all. Goa is open, safe and the most tourist friendly in india so shes in the right part of india
Her father is India and she's lived there all her life and she's living there on a visa? Is it because she doesn't want to give up her Italian citizenship and India doesn't accept dual citizenship?
Does she truly belong to India or not?
People who love and respect India and its culture and contribute to its improvement belong to india. She belongs to India. No doubts
She does. However, i do understand the 1st impression thing which mistakes people into believing she's not.

She said she is Italian it's her choice but one who lives in India and contributing to people of India she/he belongs to India.
She does.
well it is same if someone from India living abroad, in first instance you tend to think he/she is an outsider. Similar goes her way. Her accent is totally Indian! She should just say that she's from Jammu & Kashmir and most people wouldn't be able to guess she's foreigner 😅
Why she should?? ...we INDIAN have to change our mindset ...we are the most racist people on the Earth 😢 it's a fact ...
She's in India since the age of 2. So definitely Indian accent persists.
her accent is inseparable from ours.
Exactly what I was wondering about her accent.
That is because she “is us”!
❤
Absolutely
You get accent from where you grow up. As she grew up in india her accent would obviously be indian
Awesomeeeee. The moment she said "Sanskari" and "Jugaad" I knew she is one of us. Max, my wife is a Portuguese citizen and we live in Bangalore for some years. Hit me up if you would like to interview her.

She has got the head movements. She is Indian. Period. I don't care how she feels. - An Indian
she's using too much gestures, which is what Italians do when talking
India is not for even Indians we are still exploring..India.
She'll be considered like a Delhite by looks in Goa even though she's white. And when she speaks Konkani she's 100% Goan.
Goa is awesome, no place like it.
Tell her she is indian. Let haters hate.
She's so amazing..i love her🤟🏻
There is a deep spiritual circuit in Goa. Sacred Goa is a beautiful experience. So many devsthans and mandirs with such a long history.
I thought there was a voiceover, she is truly legit
Proud of that accent 😊❤
Feels like a rollercoaster balancing cultural differences and personal identity, but the grind and freedom sound next-level. Props for making it work and finding peace in such a complex mix of challenges!
Thanks for making India your home. Cheers !
Watching this from Milan, Italy. Regarding the pasta, when she said "al dente plus 2 minutes" 🤣
As a Goan born in Africa living in London I miss my Goa
We expats who give up our citizenship feel like adopted children with negligent parents in a foreign land
Bright , sharp , enthusiastic ! Amazing
LOL , she has a perfectly Indian accent 😂
Thats cool. Her accent is spot on Indian. Great to see her not giving up, despite the challenges.

"Does she truly belong to India or not?" The answer lies in this gesture at 17:05
Really liked the interview
I really liked her opinion about India .
Our bureaucrats are corrupt as hell, it's very difficult to do business in India, every goddamn idiot will try to harass you for bribes. On top of it our judiciary is an absolute joke which takes decades to pass a judgement. Kudos to her trying to live in India and adapting to our culture.
She came to india at the age of 2 but still has to apply for visa every year?!
I think permanent residency of italy is easier to get than india!
Not necessarily it's 5 yrs
Because she doesn't wish to give up on her italian citizenship by birth as india doesn't support dual citizenship, she can get an OCI which idk why she hasn't applied for.
She spoke like an Indian.
proper Indian English accent used by high end people
Here Bangladeshi are easily making their adhar card, pan card, pass port and she lived here for all her life and still had to renew her passport ..
Another best interview after mumbai , the person has great command over kokani it's great
Yes Punjabis are loud but if you were in Punjab they readily would accept you as one of their own. We Punjabis are always welcoming people. . .
Very interesting
कितनी मस्त अंग्रेजी बोलती है, जरा भी विदेशी accent नहीं है
She still rolls the 'RR'.
"India is not for beginners "😂😂
Love the Indian accent
She'd be accepted well in a city like Mumbai.
In one statement she said, every Six months she needs to renew the Business visa. In another statement she says her husband is a Goan. I wonder why she is not able to get OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card! She can easily get OCI, which will get rid of her all visa hassles. Damn ❤❤
24:21 is she talking about Olly Esse?
okay i'm confused, she's been here her whole life why she can't get a citizenship
Because she doesn't wish to give up on her italian citizenship by birth as india doesn't support dual citizenship, she can get an OCI which idk why she hasn't applied for.
Well, her accent is totally Indian😂. She is a Bharatiya!
Hey sister visit North East India someday would love to meet & travel with you ...God bless you always 💐💖
I wonder why she doesn't apply for Indian citizenship so she doesn't have to worry about a visa anymore. The downside is that she will have to surrender Italian citizenship as India doesn't allow dual citizenship.
Probably doesn’t want to give up Italian citizenship but she should potentially be able to get an OCI
Our streets would look better if all these parking on roads can be made illegal.
She is indian ...how ? She can't be interrupted while talking 😂
I have only one thing to say.....
yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes
I feel uneasy knowing a person who spend her whole life in India and still feel Indians don't think she is Indian.

Its totally wrong. Women are free to choose their career and their partners in modern india.
Nobody is "sold off for marriage". Not denying sexual harassment exists and its not by no definition a good thing and cannot be justified in any manner. But, it exists in other countries as well - be it US, or S.Korea or Italy. Where do you get these ideas of women being sold off ?

What language they speak in Goa ?
Mainly Konkani, but Hindi is also widely spoken
It's sad about women safety
She wants privacy in 140 crore population country. 🤣
What she means is personal space. As an Indian I can tell you Indians are too much into others personal business.
You are an Indian😅
शिटहोल इंडिया
Her father is India and she's lived there all her life and she's living there on a visa? Is it because she doesn't want to give up her Italian citizenship and India doesn't accept dual citizenship?
Yes might be the only reason!
Damn that accent 😂😂
She sound like any Indian
