Great Video!! I can't count him many times I've had a long week and then jump on the motorcycle alone and just ride! I'm no more than a mile from home and I take that relaxing deep breath and all in the world is right!
I always go alone and feel seriously uncomfortable when I'm not able to do that. I'm not a group person, and the serenity of being alone with my bike and my thoughts are soothing. Just bring extra petrol. It feels stupid to push the bike along the road...
@@bolindow176 I can seriously relate to what you’re saying. Riding alone gives me a sense of comfort that I can never achieve being in a group. The note about carrying extra petrol is good advice, yet also gave me a good chuckle. Thanks for watching and commenting.
It's a great experience. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. It's nice to hear from people with decades of riding experience, such as yourself.
I ride... short trips never longer than a few hours, but endlessly dream of solo traveling America... maybe someday, maybe never... meanwhile videos like yours allow me to vicariously feed my longing for adventure. Wonderful scenery, excellent commentary! Thank you
@@jocera Fortunately riding is an adventure within itself without an overnight trip. Like you, I have many dreams of grand cross-country trips that may never happen, but the dreams alone are enough to remind me how much I enjoy riding. Thanks so much for your kind words and I appreciate you watching.
Solo trips are the best trips. I mentioned to two friends that I wanted to go ride the BRP in 2024. They both said they wanted to go to and then started telling me which months they could not ride the BRP with me. I let them keep planning the trip we would never take and I went alone in May. Then Hellene destroyed Asheville and chunks of the Parkway in September. I'm glad I did not wait.
@@wagorides Your friends and my friends are rather similar. It’s good that you went on and enjoyed yourself. I’ve been near there, but I haven’t ridden the BRP and I’ve never been to Asheville. I look forward to returning to that area to ride. There are so many great motorcycle roads in Western NC and East TN. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Have you been talking to my wife? I don’t even suggest a place to eat these days. It’s easy cause I’ll go anywhere but she has to pick that day around that time. No planning on my part. Easy mode. That’s 14 years of marriage. Also, nothing wrong with 7/Eleven hot dogs!!! Loved this video. No surprise of course but that’s one thing I always image that I benefit from is riding solo. I get to pick the route, detour, speed, stops, cut short, or add more without peer pressure or even a conversation. Although I plan on branching out this year, I will forever favor the solo ride to nowhere and anywhere. The nature part of your video is where I’m sitting right now. I have been on the bike for several years now but up until last year is when I started to look at more than just the traffic and other hazards. Maybe this is a bad thing to divert my attention in a way but it’s all part of the experience that I am looking for. Have to take risks in life and this is just a minor example. The ride is one thing and people would jump to the conclusion that the destination is the other however everything along the way can overshadow the destination sometimes. Gotta take it all in. Great message here bud!
@@FYERFIGHTER I’ve eaten more than my fair share of hot dogs, corn dogs, taquitos, buffalo chicken rollers, etc. from 7/Eleven, RaceTrac, QuikTrip, and the like. Then at my annual physical when my doctor asks about my diet I say something like “I do my best to eat healthy, but I’m not always the best at it.” 😆 I enjoy riding backroads and I like to ride new roads whenever possible. However, I try not to get overly picky because it really boils down to riding anywhere is better than not riding at all.
I have some things that I hate most in life, being embarrassed and having my time wasted. So when it comes to the latter, as in something similar to how you suggested a decision between two people can take so long. @@SpokedInTheEyeMoto The more of your videos I watch and the more you share in comments, the more I realize we have a lot in common. 😆I get frustrated with things that I feel are needlessly over-complicated. I love being twice divorced and living at the beach with my two bikes alone. 😊 I learned that I won't be entertaining a third, nor will I enter into the matrix again. 😂
@@BlakesPipes This legitimately gave me a laugh. I’m fortunate that my wife understands I like to have some time to myself…or she enjoys me being away from her at times. 🤔
Based on some of your past comments it sounds like it's not keeping you from motorcycle travels. The fact that you've traveled alone in the past means you've at least experienced it. None of my friends ride. Consequently, my options are go on a trip alone or don't go at all. The latter sounds like a travesty to me.
You missed your calling. You would have made a good income to those old movies that we use to watch, forestry, motorcycle safety, war film, sex education and all the other informative videos I grew up with in the 70s. 😂
