Hard to think of this as an interview -- more like an afternoon together to compare ideas, life choices, and musical experiences. Tim is a genuine legend, Home Free my favorite a cappella band. Peter, you are amazing. What's not to enjoy? And yes, I was here for the entire 1 hour, 45 minutes and 34 seconds.

Tim seems to be so knowledgeable about so many types of music. I’m really impressed by him. I follow him on his website and on his campaign with Patreon and can’t wait to be able to have him sing me Happy Birthday. That’s a dream for me. His bass is just as important as all the other parts, including the leads/tenors. My friend who plays the bass says it’s the bass that keeps the beat more than the drums, which is what most people think. I just love his attitude about his career and life. I pray he never leaves music because that would leave such a void for so many people. I admire his work with Home Free and his solo career and really look forward to hearing some of his original work. If you can’t tell, I am a huge fan and will continue to look forward to anything and everything Tim does. Love ❤️ you Tim.

I have to say I FIND TIM THE MOST FUNNY, INTERESTING & INCREDIBLY BLESSED VOCALIST = Three Register Voice and LOWS WHERE WORMS WORRY WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THE GROUND - indeed impressive young man .... having said that - Without The ADDITION OF AUSTIN = perhaps they fall short of winning the SING OFF .... he was CHARMING, STRATOSPHERIC in soaring into TENOR terrific sound ... and leading the otherwise Rob lead Group fro Minnesota. Chris was with the group then as well - tenor 2 and genius level band manager performer - Wish Him best of luck in producing !~ GBjj

Great interview! It was so nice of you to pump for your friend George - I'm sure he's grateful for the kind of letter of introduction. The information about reality talent contests rather confirmed what I've always thought - especially the 'back stories' (which were only ever about certain people - and you knew they'd be the front-runners). Having had a chance to talk to Tim, perhaps you could get an interview with Adam Rupp - founder of the band.

I’ve never been a huge country fan, so I don’t follow HF as closely as some do, but I’m becoming a big fan of Tim’s just because he’s such a gracious guy. A lot of your interviewees come across as very nice people, but Tim has taken the time to get to know something a about your channel and The Bass Gang’s work so that he can talk about what YOU do, and noticing your accomplishments. It says a lot about who he is. Add to that the man’s elevator pitch could be reading the buttons on the elevator-that voice!

I'm so glad that you got to do this with someone you respect so much, Peter. I'm happy that the two of you are able to work together as peers and as friends. I hope nothing but the best of things for you in the future, hope that all of the ideas you have for your channel, all of the directions you choose to take in your career and personal life, work out exactly as you hope they will.
My favorite piece of new information about Tim? He likes to snorkel! Who knew? Fun bit of information.
Oh, you asked who you should interview next. Um...I have no idea, really. However, if they're also a bass singer who does as you and Tim do, teaches others, may I suggest that you each showcase your teaching by giving one another a new exercise, or teach a new technique? It would be riveting, to me at least, to see the process of both teaching and learning as a professional.

I appreciate that a lot of your conversation revolved around the skills and tools it takes to be a good bass-I learned a lot. What a wonderful interview. I have never enjoyed one more. Peter, I watch your analysis all the time and enjoy learning from you. TIM --- I watched it to the end! And let me tell you, I'm eagerly awaiting the birth of another great-grand baby, so you can guess my age range. I was raised on gospel music. At one point I took voice lessons (great story -- My teacher ended up in jail for some random reason, so much for lessons). I had been tagged as an alto/tenor in the junior high choir. Then my voice teacher told me I was a high soprano. Imagine my confusion. But I found out the higher I trained and sang in choir performances, the lower I could sing. So I ended up being a gal that could sing everything from high soprano to tenor with the men. What a hoot. Now I find from listening to y'all that I was doing something right and didn't ever know it. Guess I better start practicing for karaoke. Tim, see y'all next time you come to Atlanta. I had to move back here from Florida, so give me something to live for, please! Love both of y'all. Do This Again!!!!!

Hey, guys! We love y'all too up in Northern and Central California -- San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area & Sacramento! I'm starting to resent you ignoring us. Remember the blue hair in Tahoe, Tim? Hope to see you this winter.

You did probably the best interview that I have heard anyone do with tim.i knew most of it but did learn some and learned more about you. Love that Tim likes to perform in the Pacific Northwest as I am from Washington state and absolutely love Home Free. Hopefully you get to interview the rest of the group.

@PeterBarber That is a weird thing that basses have the widest range. As a 21 year old basso profundo with a lower voice than Eric, I can still sing tenor a really raspy Chris Stapleton sounding tenor but still can do it. I have bad acid reflux, which damaged my vocal cords. My comfortable range is A0 to E4 in chest but can reach the 5th octave.

@@bronsonleach3573A0 in chest? That's damn near impossible. It's probably chest-fry, if not just a compressed fry.

@xfrostyresonance8614 No I have bad acid reflux. It caused my voice to drop. My vocal cords have scar tissue on them. I will not kid you I make Optimus Prime sound like a tenor. I don't use fry because that doesn't feel to good and ruins the sound. I just relax to sing C0 to A0. I have recorded my lower range. I speak in the first octave most of the day so C2 sounds high on me.

@@bronsonleach3573 In that case, you're close to being UNABLE to speak. It's actually kinda cool that you still can, let alone sing, without that much pain

I just added Home Free on Pandora, can’t believe I never thought to look for you there! Only watched videos on RUclips! I’m a lifetime northern Minnesotan, love ALL seasons, ice racing one of the best things for winter, sometimes never shut car off all day so warm!

Thoroughly enjoyed this interview! Peter, you where well-prepared with good questions, and you & Tim worked to keep the conversation flowing. Too many high points to mention, but the discussion on reality TV was very good. (Not a fan of reality TV.) The low point? When Tim said Home Free was working to tour LESS! Ack! Not that I blame them; being away from family is a huge sacrifice. As far as who to interview next, I'd suggest Austin Brown. He, like Tim, has many side projects. His newest release Hers Aint Mine has gone crazy viral. It would be interesting comparing the two techniques -- yours, opera & Austin, music theater. Also, bass vs high tenor. BTW, where I volunteer, hear BJ Thomas singing Hooked On A Feeling every day; I prefer the The Bass Gang's version by far! Much more musically interesting!

Enjoyed the conversation...all of it. I mentally contributed my comments throughout as if I were there. Anyway, I did learn a few things. I have always wondered about in ear monitors, but I have never taken time to read about them, so I really tuned into that part 😊. I would Love Love for Tim to do a southern gospel album. I do enjoy watching/listening to reactions to Home Free when they are first-time reactions (whether or not they are truly "first time" reactions, I don't know, but I still enjoy those.). Home Free's many videos make my heart happy! I love the humor behind so many of them, and with others, as mentioned, like the How Great Thou Art video, the scenery is amazingly breathtaking and the perfect backdrop for the song! I wondered if Tim was going to mention Rob's opera background at first, then it came up again, and he did. Such talent, well, so much talent from all the Home Free fellas. Finally, I get lost in their music, and I do often forget it is a cappella! Thanks for the conversation!

My speakers reacted to Tim's low voice but not to Peter's voice. How many speakers/subwoofers have you destroyed Tim? 😉
I wanted to go and see Home Free when they were in Sweden, but I live far up in northern Sweden so it was too far to travel.😢 I've been a fan of Home Free since they won Sing Off and I hope I get the opportunity to see them live sometime. 💖 Awesome interview! 👍🏼
