Peter Hollens would be a great interview. He's an OG a capella RUclipsr and he's got a lot to say about the economics of being a creator. Also Colm sounds like he'd be a fun one. His Sleeping in the Cold Below is one of my top listens and he gets mad props for covering Stan Rogers.

I REALLY enjoy Lauren's voice quite a bit. I also admire how she has explored different media to find what works for her. It is so great to see singers who are so positive, who care about their impact on their fans, and most importantly, has found a way to make a living as a singer, in a business that is just so difficult to survive in. She comes across as such a nice, very genuine person, someone that you would enjoy meeting and having a cup of coffee with. Prince of Egypt? YES, PLEASE!!!

Regarding the two Hide and Seek covers mentioned at 49:20, I was one of those who were a little taken aback by the fact that she did both. I agree though, that they are extremely different and I enjoy them both (all, counting the original stairwell version). My main concern was just consent between groups - did Voiceplay and the Bass Gang know about the other groups cover coming out? If everyone was notified in advance and cool with it then I am glad to have both versions out there in the world and in my playlists, but I have hoped this whole time that no one was taken by surprise or felt like they were taken advantage of.

We (The Bass Gang) had no idea she was doing it with VoicePlay as well - We were for sure surprised, but not in a negative way at all. Their cover was amazing and we're just very happy to have had the opportunity to host Lauren for a song (Which hopefully won't be the last time!)

10:46 Not sure I agree that 70% of undergrad students think they're mezzos. Most girls and women at my age, 19, at my college don't sound like mezzos. But yes a lot of sopranos start of thinking they're mezzos, maybe or maybe not most but definitely plenty.
And at 11:37, indeed with men's voices you can usually tell maybe around 80% of the time which voice type they are just by hearing them talk (there are exceptions on occasion though), but with women's voices it's much harder to tell what their voice type is just based on their speaking voices. I have heard mezzos who had super light and bright speaking voices and yet when they sing, they have so much weight and "heaviness" to their voices and they're also very dark. I have also heard some sopranos speak very low-pitched and sometimes not only that but also heavy and almost androgynous. In some interviews, Rosa Ponselle's speaking voice sounds maybe like a high mezzo, but sometimes she has even sounded like a contralto, and yet she is neither of those she is a dramatic soprano.
