I'm another Home Fry, following Home Free since their first song (Cruise) on The Sing Off. They are such an incredible a cappella group and Tim's teeth-rattling low bass notes are the icing on the cake!

  • @canonman80d34

His voice is, if you listen for it, calming; he speaks so....what? Eloquently, pleasantly.....just easy to listen to. When you go see them in concert, you'll understand what a joy it is to sit damb near enthralled with the quality of pure professionalism Home Free just not exudes, but gives freely to all of their fans. If you live anywhere near an upcoming concert with Home Free, do not hesitate to get tickets and go! At the last concert I attended, it was evident by the volume and quality they had procured a new sound system much improved from earlier, which made the music, comedy, and all of it much better, so you "got no 'scuse" not to go......whenever they're able to again. Thanks for the opportunity for the chance. Nice job, man. Bioman out.

Awesome interview, thank you so much. Fun story, the reason I started watching and subscribed to reaction channels from musical professionals like yourself is because I recently watched Chris Rupp breakdown “Do You Hear What I Hear” their phenomenal arrangement which caused me to become a Home Fry! Listening to Home Free has been such a joyful experience. So glad I support them on patreon.

So sad I missed this live. I would have loved to ask if he's got anything planned with Avi or Geoff for a future guest spot. I would also like to thank him and Home Free for making quarantine so much more palatable. Their videos have brought so many much-needed laughs and great music through this.

  • @lynfl9814

Thanks so much, Jacob, for interviewing Tim Foust. I have been obsessing over Home Free since I stumbled on their Sing Off videos on RUclips. I just keep getting blown away by their music. They are also a lot fun to watch; the Sea Shanty Medley comes to mind. They have absolutely helped me get through this difficult time we are experiencing with this horrid virus. I am 60+ and I have loved male quartets and quintets since I was young. I love the male bass singers voice; I am always tuning in on the bass voice to hear it better and, in a new group, I try to figure out who is singing the bass. Some male basses are not pleasant. Tim's bass is absolutely sweet. What is unique about Home Free is how talented each one of the guys is in this group. Their harmony can be breathtaking. Keep up the good work, Home Free. And, drop down into to Jacksonville, FL; that is close enough that Floridians could get to enjoy you live.

If I may just recommend one thing for future interviews it would be that you give the person you interview the space to finish their replies properly, at least when the replies aren't unnecessarily lengthy. I just was able to see this. It would be great if you could get an interview with all of them. Im thinking Adam Rupp would be the hardest one to get on since he seems to like to be in the background and just do his awesomeness.

I stream music through amazon music, love the convenience. But being old school (started buying records/albums in the late 60s), if I like a song, I buy and download the song too. Nothing beats a physical copy.

What a wonderful interview! May I just say --- o m g ...... Tim, just talkin'.... is deeeeeep in the basement. Can he just consider recording scary myths like Red Ridinghood or Hansel and Gretal. Now that I have done the girl fan thing.... What an enlightening interview. Tim is so genuine. What a lovely Texan. I enjoyed this interview more than anything I have watched for a very long time.

It sounds like you're impressed by Home Free's beatboxer, Adam Rupp. I dont know if he's up for it but I really would like to see you doing an interview with him. 🙂👍
In the interview with Tim he said there are some fans that have a Spotify list with only Home Free stuff on, I'm one of them. OK, I have some other also on that list, Jeffrey East that Tim mentioned, Jeffrey is so talented! 👍Both his newer stuff but also what he did a couple of years ago. (Retro, Party at the end of the road, Still crazy, Time is cold...) and I also have Avi Caplan's solo stuff ( I'll get by, It knows me, Change on the rise...) and the songs that Home Free and Tim have collaborate with Peter Hollens and The hound + the fox. 🙂 (I just remember, must added Tim's wife, Jenika Marion to the list also!)
Up to today its a playlist for 2,5-3 hour with most of Home Free's later songs plus all the songs that is my all time favourite. My husband snores at night and I'm a light sleeper so stay in sanity and not put a pillow over his mouth 😉 and stay together (we have been a couple for 20 years now) I plug in my earphones every night and let the playlist go all night. So every song on that playlist got 3 or more playing every night and the tribute, and money goes to Home Free ant the other ones and I got a full night of sleep and my husband can snores how much he like. 😁 Everybody wins. 😁👍
I start the list in the middle, with Still Crazy with Jeffrey and after that I have Helplessly Hoping, in the end of that song, I'm out! 💤💤😊
If I can't sleep for some reason I play that song a couple of more times until I fall a sleep. Never fails.
If you don't have listed to it yet, do so, it's a angel choir in harmonies. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer sings in this song, so no beatboxing.
Thank you for your reaction of Home Free's songs and interview with Tim, he's my favourite singer of all time. I'm a sucker for bass.😄
