Hey man have you seen LGR Ultimate Windows XP PC it's pretty close to what just built, lot of the same parts / hardware. Really cool though. Thank you for sharing And God Bless my friend.
My Windows XP machine is a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS4, with a core 2 quad processor 3.0 GHz, 2x2 GB DDR2 dual channel 1066 MHz memory and a 1GB gforce 9800 GT video card. Case: Thermaltake Kandalf equipped with 2 Pioneer DVD recorders, a fan controller, a 128 GB SSD for the system and a 500 GB WD HD for data. PSU: Thermaltake 750 W 80 plus.
If I was the T-1000 from Terminator 2, I would approach you and say, "Say, that's a nice setup." But really, that is a pretty darn good setup. I have two Windows XP systems. One has an Athlon 64 4000+ with 2 GB of memory, and the graphics adapter is a Ati Sapphire X1950 GT AGP 8x. That setup isn't too fast as games around 2005 and beyond, the PC is a bit too slow. My second Windows XP system has an AMD FX 4200 CPU with 4 GB of memory, as well as an AMD HD 6870 Graphics adapter. It's nice and fast, but the compatibility for older games isn't very good. I want to build something in the middle. I want to see, sometime this fall, about building a Core 2 Duo PC with a relatively fast CPU, with 4 GB of memory, and a Geforce 8800 GTX graphics adapter. I had a very similar setup back at 2007, but with a mid to high range Core 2 Duo and 2 GB of memory. I didn't play too much on it, because I was more into the Xbox 360. My ideal Windows XP system is to have perfect compatibility from 1999 to 2007. Any later than that, I play those games on my Windows 7 PC.

Watched your xfi card video before and at a glance, thought you were using the GTX 260 or 280 in SLI, I had the BFG 8800 GTS back in the day to, I’d waited nearly 2 years for the 8800 GTX to come down in price so bought one, a week later the 8800 GTS 512 was released and I was very sad I’d bought the 8800 GTX as it was slightly faster and cheaper even though it had less vram. I was very naughty and bent a pin on the cooling fan plug so it didn’t work and took the card back for a refund, promptly bought the GTS lol also had a 9800 x2 and 280 I sold very cheap on a car boot which I’m still kicking my self for to this day.

@@DeckardGames Haven't got that far yet. I can't get the computer to read the XP ISO from CD or bootable USB. Works with a bootable Win 10 USB no problem.
@@HunterVaughanMusic Question is: are the devices detected in the bios? If yes. There's a problem with the image and/or the way you created the usb drive.
Does ur evga motherboard suffer from the the infamous sata corruption? Because early revisions of the chipset had notorious read/write error which breaks ur windows install.
How did you get Crysis running on Windows XP 32-bit? I have a retail version and GOG version, and neither one will work. They go to a black screen at launch and immediately crash. I do not even get to see the startup logos for Crytek, Nvidia, and Intel. I cannot find helpful information on multiple searches and reading through forum threads. Apparently not many people posted about running this game in XP and having issues.
I really don't recommend nvidia chipset, I had always just problems with them, like not recognizing some graphic cards for no reason, lower performance than with intel chipset, really high temperature of north bridge. But nvidia chipset is a cool retro I guess. 😀 I have E8600 (I have even Q9550, I am still not sure if quad core makes sense for XP gaming) and GTX 275 for ultimate Win XP gaming, I also have GTX 460, but raw performance is the same, but maybe I will let it there to have DX11 support in Win 7 on second HDD. Such computer is perfect for playing games like FarCry, FEAR, Quake 4 on ultra. I had several MBs there, even some very fancy Asus Striker II (nvidia chipset), but it had -15% performance than the cheapest ordinary MBs, my old beloved P35 platinum combo unfortunately already died, that was really good MB and I also sold my old MSI with P45 chipset, that was mistake 10 yearsa go. I loved MSI back in the day, they had real copper coolers (not fake copper color paint like Asus) and their BIOSes were much better, it was showing real CPU and ram frequency which made overclocking really easy, while with some Asus or others, you still had to use calculator while changing FSB, which is ridiculous. Now I have some Asus with P43 chipset, it's very basic ordinary MB from that time, but it's reliable and performance is good, so it's ok I guess. I think I will put that Q9550 there to have even some Win 7 gaming possibility, because I am afraid that it will not take a long time and some games from that period of time will have compatibility issues and also, I prefer to play GOG versions with no DRM and no internet connection on gaming PC at all. When you have gaming only PC and you have some problem, you can just reinstall it in one day which I like. Try to reinstall your main PC with Win 10/11, that will take weeks to set and install everything you had there back. I still have my 2014 Haswell build (except R9 380, I already sold it), I am using it as movie computer now, but I think it will be good for gaming once again after some time. PS: Don't use DDR3 with socket 775, it's not reliable, OC will be very limited and you need old RAMs with no XMP profiles to make it really stable. I still keep my old Patriot memories which had all parameters natively, not thru some XMP profile.

@@DeckardGames I thought there was a special process in getting XP to read SSD. I could be wrong. For some reason I can't get my dell precision 3650 tower to boot from disc drive nor be able to boot the ISO from USB. Using Windows XP Integral edition.
@@HunterVaughanMusic not reading ssd is not a thing.
It's not detecting sata devices?
@@DeckardGames Haven't got that far yet. I can't get the computer to read the XP ISO from CD or bootable USB. Works with a bootable Win 10 USB no problem.
@@HunterVaughanMusic Question is: are the devices detected in the bios?
If yes. There's a problem with the image and/or the way you created the usb drive.
Does ur evga motherboard suffer from the the infamous sata corruption? Because early revisions of the chipset had notorious read/write error which breaks ur windows install.
No problems until now
@@DeckardGames so you didn't suffer from SATA corruption bug until recently?
Nice pc btw how you get new core 2 duo box
zalman coolers are the best looking coolers
Thats so cool....i had nforce back in the day....powering my amd64....😀😀
Not 4 cores.....4 extreme cores 😁😁
Also had nforce2 with my athlon 64 3200+
@@DeckardGames It was one of my favorite builds, the Geforce 6600 GT
Oh yes. I had an 6600gt also. From xfx.
Just installed it and it runs. Did nothing.
Never had a problem with crysis and xp.
@@DeckardGames I was afraid you would say that. Does it require any online activation or other prerequisites to launch?
@@Junkyard_Dawg nope. I just install it and that's it.
well for a pc you can buy a titan rtx it has the drivers
also i like you i subbed and liked this vid
You are from Portugal.
Do you use euros?
I really don't recommend nvidia chipset, I had always just problems with them, like not recognizing some graphic cards for no reason, lower performance than with intel chipset, really high temperature of north bridge. But nvidia chipset is a cool retro I guess. 😀
I have E8600 (I have even Q9550, I am still not sure if quad core makes sense for XP gaming) and GTX 275 for ultimate Win XP gaming, I also have GTX 460, but raw performance is the same, but maybe I will let it there to have DX11 support in Win 7 on second HDD.
I still keep my old Patriot memories which had all parameters natively, not thru some XMP profile.
what is the name of the case
How much would this cost now?
O meu build da altura tinha exactamente esse Zalman, dos melhores decipadores que já tive em maquinas.
Bom ou não, não sei. Mas é grande e com aspeto anos 2000.
What case is that?
evga 680i sli mainboard premium is of good quality made in taiwan has the best bios award version, pciexpress 2.0, nvidia NIC is unique will be updated until 2040 but i chose older motherboard asus m2n32 sli deluxe wireless edition, processor phenom 9850 black edition, two graphics cards geforce 8800 gtx sli, audio sound card asus xonar D2 pci, windows xp professional 32 bit

Its a shame you didnt go for the GTX 980Ti.
That's a much later card. Cool for windows 7 machine.
@@DeckardGames It is. It does run very well under Windows XP though. Very stable.
Why not run W11 on that machine. Why an obsolete operating system.
It is supposed to be a retro build to play older games. 🤦♂️
That's expensive for a relic
Better use HD 4870 X2
Love me some 4870, but it's not year appropriate.
How you fioxit hp oesk top 1155 board run it xp or 7 bro
@paulharrison3563 what?
I'm gonna guess that you are a Scorpio.
I would be a Ophiuchus, but the Greeks decided that dividing twelve months by thirteen constellations doesn't add up. Just a curiosity 😁
A bit underpowered to be a "ultimate" build, imho.
