OMG, I immediately paused the video & took a screenshot to see the games on the desktop. There are so many great titles I remember. Another World, Battlefield 1942, Brocken Sword, Freelancer, Flashback, Half Life 2, Monkey Island 2, Portal, StarCraft. I used to play StarCraft on a friend's dads BNC network with 4 machines. If someone lost on the end machine, they would remove the end terminal, and the whole network would drop out. A friend also ran an Internet cafe, and we would play BF1942 in the evening after ut had shut, a squad of 8 playing into the early hours. Happy memories.
I just spent my entire weekend rebuilding an old office PC that’s spec’s similar. Mine has a Q9650 @3.0 GHz, 8GB of memory, and I threw in a 750ti and my old X-FI Titanium sound card for EAX. I’ve been installing all my era-appropriate games and doing the no cd cracks on them. Also fighting a bunch of STEAM games to play without Steam, since it doesn’t like XP anymore.
I would love to see another one of these shorter videos where you just hop into a few random games and give your initial impressions. Takes me back to a simpler time when I was wee and gaming was all that mattered :)
Nox is a great game!!! I did have issues with some graphics flickering and if I remember correctly switching to the lower color bitrate in the setting fixed it or possibly launching it in a different compatibility mode but you shouldn't have to on a native XP machine. I was also looking for Septera Core but I don't see it on there unfortunately.

Play Drakan. It's one of the earlier 3d openworld rpg. One of my favorite game, very overlooked. The story and acting is bad, but that doesn't matter because the gameplay itself is fun. The online gameplay back in the days was quite fun. Another ones worth playing is Soldier of Fortune II.

There are official Nvidia drivers for these, if I'm not mistaken these are the latest generation of graphics cards that still supports Windows XP. I tried it myself and it works (although I had to switch from DP 1.4 to DP 1.2 mode on my monitor to get any input signal)
been looking at getting a retro XP gaming PC. because more and more old games do not run well or at all on newser system or OS. //plus started to get/find/buy some old big boxes and thoes just refuses to run painfree on moderns system. my PC have DVD/Blueray drive so that is not the problem.

I just built my xp gamer on with a gtx 980. It's amazing how smooth it runs.
