    This is my second day with an iPhone 15.
    I switched from an Android Pixel 4a.
    It was difficult setting it up while working with
    a carrier tech telling me which icons to tap.
    I would have understood what I was doing
    if I had seen this video first.
    I found your video using a random RUclips
    search.
    Not to complain about other videos,
    but they seemed to talk faster than my
    ability to keep pace with their instructions.
    They reminded me of watching a magician
    when I was a kid.
    I saw the magic results, but I did not see clearly
    how they did their magic.
    Thank you for an easy to understand video.
    .

      You're very welcome. I've had many friends switch from Android to an IPhone. There's a learning curve for sure. Android phones are great, but I've never met anyone who regretted the switch once they got the hang of the iPhone. I have a bunch of videos on how to use the iPhone. I hope they help you out. Thanks so much for watching!

    I'm 87 and I'm receiving my refurbished iPhone 12 tomorrow. I like your videos and the way you explain the iPhone without over doing it. I previously had a cell phone just for emergencies and I know I will make better use of my iPhone 12.

    I am in trouble. I got an I-Phone 12 refurb. last wk and with trial & error tried to set it up so got beyond the initial screen where I chose English and wish I could fix anything I did wrong. 1st of all, I am clueless at how to navigate from one screen to another. I.e. I got on the active camera & had to switch off on the button on the right side & back on. I did enter a passcode. It tells me iMessage is not working. I don't know how to get my contact list switched from my old I-Phone7, don't know how to link phone to my MacBook Air. Can you help?

  • @pelehound
    @pelehound 9 месяцев назад

    'Nother great vid Rich. Re: passcode. My son advised me that a retired old goat like me doesn't need the annoyance of the passcode. I agreed. So, I disabled it. A good tip in my opinion for those of us who don't have debit cards etc linked up to our phones.

    • @JJFlores197
      @JJFlores197 9 месяцев назад

      It's up to you. I personally wouldn't go without a passcode. If your phone gets lost or stolen, anyone can get into it and get data off of your phone or do things on your behalf. But, its your phone.

    • @pelehound
      @pelehound 9 месяцев назад

      @@JJFlores197 How many seniors watching Rich's great beginner vids have their credit cards and bank debit cards etc embedded into their phones? Answer. Not many.

    • @JJFlores197
      @JJFlores197 8 месяцев назад

      @@pelehound Yes that's true. But what about the seniors who keep pictures of their families on their phones like most other people? Or what about other important stuff that some seniors may keep on their phone. I'm not trying to be argumentative. As I said, its your phone its your data. Do as you please.

    Thank you, I'm good with a computer. But this iPhone my family insisted I should own makes me feel like a raving idiot. Always had a house phone, but being 78 they want to be able to keep an eye phone on me. I will be watching all your videos see if I can become efficient in using this annoying super pager system. It will make the family happy. Maybe I will get a little smarter. Thank you again. The KISS system is the best.

    Among many other things about your presentation, I especially like that you speak at a normal conversational pace. I get so irritated at narrations and voice-overs deliveredatasuperfastspeedtocreateafeelingofurgencyorexcitement. That may thrill the narrator but makes it hard for the listener to absorb. Thanks and I look forward to the rest of your series.

    Thanks for the tips. Also let's not forget that on the iPhone there is that whole old “today view” to access by swiping left off of the Home Screen, which can be used for staging widgets and widget stacks.

    • @RichBowlin
      @RichBowlin  9 месяцев назад

      And a series on the new simplified (assistive access) mode in iOS 17 would be GREAT for seniors on the older side!
