OK, I gotta admit I saw this video and chuckled - Basics for Seniors and Messages. Come on now, messaging is so simple, you don’t need a video. Damn, was I wrong - after using messaging for many years - I found out stuff I didn’t know. Thanks for breaking through my skepticism. Count me in as a ew subscriber.
really great channel Rich congratulations on your current (and no doubt future) success in clearly explaining digital technology to an appreciative audience. My son gifted me an Apple Watch 7 last year and while I can find my way around the bare basics I feel a video explaining what advantages/disadvantages they bring to a wider living experience in 2024 would be awesome. If you’ve already done this I apologise and should look more carefully at your material if not I’ll be one of the first to tune in 🙃
Rich - thank you so much for slow and clear explanations. as was said earlier, using for years but several new eye-openers. (always wondered about recapturing deleteds)…..another new follower.❤
Rich, another excellent video. Keep 'em coming. You showed and spoke about "conversations", but I don't think you stated what they are. I think a sentence explaining the difference between a conversation and a message would help.
Another helpful video and I thought I had it figured out😂. Question do you know how to stop that first letter that I’m typing from changing it to lowercase every time I start typing even though it was capitalized when I started typing?
Sending a message text when the keyboard comes up there is a little microphone at the bottom near the space key. If you touch this small microphone you can speak your message, I'm doing it right now into this comment box. I use it all the time. It's great , easy and it's just more natural. You may make mistakes so you do need to read it over after you've spoken your message to correct any mistakes but it makes it easier specially for some of us who find it difficult to type on the small keyboard.
I’m 86 and I own 2 iPads and a iPhone 16Pro. I’m quite conversant with the use of these. When I want to know more, I use RUclips and get my answers. SENIORS learn the same way as everyone else. I get INSULTED by seeing such things as “iPhone Basics for Seniors”. iPhone basics are iPhone basics, PERIOD. NO NEED to add for SENIORS!!!!! By the way, good video!
There's not. But I've had a lot of comments about my wallpapers over the last year and think I'll make a video on how I find these free wallpapers and put them on my phone.
When I go to the pencil and type in my friends name it vines up several times. How do I delete the extra ones? Also, I texted my friend, but instead of getting her answer on the same text, she texted me back on a new one, and I don’t understand that. Can you explain this? I don’t want to try to understand how to work two texts at once for one person about one conversation at the same time!!
When you start a new message, in the "To" box, I just add both names, type a message and tap send. Once I've done that, I can press and hold on the message and pin both! Hope this makes sense.

Hmm...not sure what's going on. Maybe you're hitting the space bar before typing? I can't think of anything else. Thanks for watching!
@@RichBowlin Nope, I use a pen when I’m typing, guess I’ll go to the Apple Store and see if they know, thank you.

i love the wallpaper on your personal phone, is there a link to that?

I like to text whoever I might want to call and ask if now is a good time to call!
I do that too. So as not to interrupt.
When pinning how to u get the names?
I don't have a show contact photos option. Running 17.4
How did you add your wife, and daughter as a conversation?
When you start a new message, in the "To" box, I just add both names, type a message and tap send. Once I've done that, I can press and hold on the message and pin both! Hope this makes sense.
Rich I don’t have the little circle with the 3 dots in it🤣
