    I love how Percy's comment about how to be a noble is immediately backed up by the twins' dad. Percy goes full 'officious, stuffy, self-important noble twat' in his introduction, and the dad's like ah yes, a fellow noble, accepted.

    That comment about Vecna reminded me, he's already been mentioned in the show, they just had to change his name (like many of the other names of deities and such due to copywrite). Vecna is the Whispered One similar to how they changed The Raven Queen to The Matron of Ravens or Sarenrae to Everlight. The Pantheon in Taldore is a bit of a mash-up of D&D and Pathfinder figures, mixed together and then given new histories by Matt.

    • @SeanBoyce-gp
      @SeanBoyce-gp 2 года назад +7

      He'll be Vecna in the one too, and it's going to make me moderately irritated that people are going to say it's like Stranger Things.
      For what it's worth, the name Vecna is an anagram of Vance, as in Jack Vance, whose stories inspired a lot of the original dnd stuff. I think Wizards has been pretty loose with the copyrighting on that name, so they might get to use it in this context.

      I'm pretty sure that CR could get the use of the Vecna name from WotC - *except* it's very, very possible that Stranger Things has a licensing contract for the name that's exclusive until they're done with it. So whether they ever get to use it depends.

    Syldor had a tryst with a human woman, the twins were the result. She raised them until Syldor showed up to take them to Syngorn. After the twins left Syngorn, they returned to find the village destroyed... there's a glimpse of it in the title scene. The 'high' elves of Syngorn have a... poor opinion of hybrids; the fact that the twins are of his blood was the only reason Syldor removed them before the village was destroyed. I wish someone had mentioned to him that Vax is *wearing* a fleeting rumour. In the stream (which was not only live but with an audience), Syldor did amend the name; I'm hoping there's going to be a bigger payoff later on.
    Keyleth turned into her fire elemental form, then used the tree stride spell to burn them both from the inside out. Pretty sure *that* didn't happen in the stream, heh. The arrowhead didn't melt Saundor, that's just how a corrupted archfey dies... speaking of, looks like the satyr was actually an archfey all along. You'll see him again. And then again, and again...

    “Diluted”-“half blood”- you slept with a human woman, that’s on you.
    “Lack of understanding elven culture”- you let them be raised solely by their mother until you decided to randomly show up in their lives, them not knowing about elven culture is your fault.
