People can be resurrected in D&D but it's not that easy. They usually come restrictions and costs. for example the lowest level resurrections spell is "revivify" which to cast you need to have a diamond that costs at least 300 gold pieces and only works if the person has been dead for less than a minute and it can't do shit like regrow limbs/organs. For example my party once lost a member because her brain was entirely eaten by a mind flayer and the revivify spell couldn't fix that.
@@NGBH actually it wouldn’t have, like 6 months later, it turns out that the character who died accidentally sold their soul. So even with those high level resurrection spells, we couldn’t bring her back cause the person who owned the soul wasn’t willing. So we had to go on a side adventure to free that persons soul, then bring them back
The same thing happened in my campaign, the Mind Flayer took the entire head (helmet and all), it was pretty much a permadeath at that point. Cthulhu's kids really like their brain food.
I love that literally all they wanted was passage through Syngorn, but their dad's all like they're abusing his name or some shit. Bitch, just let us through

yes/yes with the tree portal thing, yes she can teleport via tree, which she has done before, so it's a mixture of that but also elementals can pass through objects and creatures having them take whatever element they are as damage. her being a fire elemental would cause them to burst immediately into flames, and catch fire taking fire damage until the flames are put out.
Bit more of world building that doesn't quite get used during this campaign, but it's not all that uncommon for feys to prey on targets by stealing their name (and sometimes soul while at it). That's why in some plane of existence ,like the Feyrealm, it's quite common to meet people going along with fake names, keeping their real ones hidden. Now Garmelie was never that guy's real name, nor was he a satyr to begin with. Yeah, in dnd resurrection for players is pretty normal, but in the context of the dnd world as a whole, very few people have the power and money that it actually requires to do resurrection spells (the weakest reviving spell cost 300 gold, and normal people only make 1 gold per year in work. Also, that spell requires that the body has only been dead for 1 minute and it cant regrow lost body parts). So death is still very important and meaningful in the context of the whole world, cuz most people don't have access to that sort of power and money. It's just that most dnd campaigns are focused around a few of the people in the world that actually do have access to those things, so death and resurrection is more common, but that doesnt mean that it should be less meaningful
I would be so hype for a YaBoyRoshi ttrpg stream. It doesn't have to be D&D if you guys don't have the time to learn it since it's fairly complicated.
