That Atlantis squid boss still gives me nightmares. It scared me as a kid, but it terrifies me as an adult… because when you die you start ALLLLLL over.
7:40 Man, this game turned into Return to Castle Wolfenstein FAST. Quite impressive. Also, if you talk about audio, PLEASE actually play some of it. I'd love to hear the Indy impression or the gunshots you were talking about.
Always wanted to play these since I saw them in PC Gamer magazine. But I won't play a game that kills you at the end of the level. Maybe on a virtual machine with state saving...
Hi, one question, how do you set the controls to show the XBOX buttons icons, and where did you get the widescreen patch? I am using the GoG version and it does not have a good gamepad support (it is awful), it does not have support for triggers or d-pad and cannot bind the same button for more than one action (like B for action and reload, it does not let you), how do you bypass this problem? Or is your the steam version and works better?
That's strange... I didn't make any changes for control. This is the GOG version. The widescreen patch is here: community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1388-indiana-jones-and-the-emperors-tomb-wsgf-dr-mods/ Maybe just check you have selected controller as the input.
I would love a remaster of this and infernal machine. infernal machine specifically is my all time favorite adventure game. I like it more than Tomb raider which ive been having fun with those remasters too. hopefully the great circle creates hype for indy remasters.
I only ever played a bit of the Infernal machine, but ai do want to revisit it one day. I might even try and track it down for the N64 for that authentic N64 analogue stick experience!
I don't want to sound inpolite, but you obviusly didn't learn the controls very well, I can see it clearly from the gameplay, I've never had a problem neither in the platform not the fighting. For example you are not locking onto your enemies. In short, If you get easily frustrated these kind of games are not for you, if you're not ready for some careful and planned action. For those of you who ask why no checkpoints, the answer is, the level are so short you actually don't need a checkpoint because each level it's a checkpoint by itself, and if quicksave did exist the game would last probably less than 3 hours. I'm not a pro player, yesterday I installed it and play casually and finished the Perù section in half hour without a single death. It's a pretty fun and easy game. In conclusion, do a fair comparison, try play Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness (same year) after you see how clunky it is you will truly understand why this game it's almost perfection.
Not impolite at all :) I welcome all opinions. I didn’t personally find that the lock on was always needed for combat, although I did use it sometimes for gunplay but found that the auto aim was fairly generous. I will try Angel of Darkness soon… If it’s anything like Tomb Raider 3’s control then I know Indiana Jones will be better!
@@azordash_games angel of Darkness had worse controls than all other Tomb Raiders. Tomb Raider 3's controls are fine - they're all part of the grid based system of the classic games.
@@thesidneychan I know many people have had success with them... sadly I was not one of them :D But I will try and give Angel of Darkness a go to see what it is like.
@@azordash_games Angel of Darkness was very different. Like they tried to modernise but wanted it classic, and could never find the balance. It's infamous for a reason.
OMG i cant lol Azordash this game is 20 years old older .games didnt hold ur hand or make things easier unless u had a cheat its meant to challenge fair or unfair. .just play ur hand holding game.if older games are to tuff. dont play them we learned and got better at these games .
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have a problem with difficult games, I have a problem when the game is difficult because of a basic mechanic, in this case the camera not cooperating and making the game more difficult than it should be,
Its 20 plus years old now Dude games didnt hold ur hand back then there was no need for logic in a videogame. back then we loved it for that reason dont ruin our classic experience trying to ad logic to a fictional game that knows its a game i hate it when some of u all do that OMG its a game it needs no logic. Its 20 plus years old ok...

Legitimately the lack of quick save is the most terrifying game element I’ve seen in a long time 🤭
I remember always playing this game as a kid and never getting passed the part with the giant crocodile 😂

Man, no quicksaves or checkpoints sounds like a nightmare, that's probably why I never finished it
If they do develop a remaster, which I honestly hope they do, it certainly needs to have some form of checkpoint system.
It's a great game! I'd love to see a remake of The Infernal Machine,
With Disney now owning the license for LucasArts, and based on the re-releases they have been doing… I’d say there is a chance!

@@azordash_games The N64 is the better one, the PC version is barely playable by today standards.
I smashed a controller into pieces after dying more than 200 times at the giant squid boss and never touched this game again.
Yeah… I can understand that… the lack of a checkpoint system is just brutal especially in segments like that.
