Man, 6th gen is where stuff like this truly was something special. Granted, not everything was gold, but Star Wars, LoTR, Indy, and more franchises all had these heartfelt tie-ins and/or expansions to their series and they make me happy to have been around for them.
I totally forgot to mention one of the greatest gameplay mechanics : The fact that the enemies can make you drop your weapons, picked up (stole them) and used them against you (and even keep it for them). One of the most unique gameplay feature that I've never seen in another game
The thing I did like about the combat was how Indy fights down and dirty just like the movies. They really nailed his style. Also I loved how the whip can be used to keep enemies off yourself, pull them towards you or disarm their weapons. Funny there’s even a “pick up fedora” control for when it falls off.
I think it was underrated on the fact that PS2 was so popular. Xbox had sharper graphics and ran smoother. Camera may be a bit wonky sometimes but its a classic in my eyes. Would be nice to get remade
@rallers3002 I forget now to be honest. But that may have been it yah. But I think James mentioned secret hunting. Was this a favorite game of yours to?
as a developer, it irks me greatly that the '+' symbol in your health bar is EVER so slightly (pixel or two left and down) off centre. That would flare my OCD BAD!
It's great seeing you review this classic 6th gen gem! The game gets tougher than a cheap steak deeper into it! The game is well thought out, yet fun & challenging, a favorite of mine!
Oh the nostalgia.. I vividly remember the game having a section in which a huge alligator blocks your path and you need to navigate around it. Masterful game.
This one is on my holy grail list already. its *not* so expensive its impossible to get. just a bit tight for my current budget it being christmas and all but i would love to play this when i get a chance.
There is an Indiana Jones Boy Scouts camp that I attended as a kid close to where I grew up. After attending I became obsessed with the franchise for a while. After acquiring the official Fedora from Disneyland to go with the bull whip I got at camp I’d imagine I was Indie for hours. I wish I’d known about this game as a kid, but glad I’ll get to play the enhanced version on series X as an adult.
They did and realised the controls were rough and the platforming competed against the camera often. But still a great game as I’m sure circle of life will be.
@@feeamerie5011If the Uncharted and Tomb Raider games could do it with no issues, there’s absolutely no excuse to hide Harrison Ford’s photorealistic likeness during gameplay, which would’ve been the pivotal selling point of The Great Circle. 🤷🏻♀️ Don’t worry, mods will fix it in the PC version.
I've spent an unspeakable amount of time playing this game. I've had it since I was a kid, and it still holds up. The only game I've probably spent as much time on is The Last of Us. I've played both games at least 20 times, but I know for sure that I've played TLOU almost thirty times.
I bought it for PC when it first came out. I didn’t finish the game though. I still have the game stored away. Always wanted to get back to playing it. I bought the game from the Xbox store and able to play it on my Xbox Series X. Almost done the game getting close!
Wow it's crazy I was just thinking about your channel and this game a few hours ago : That was such a surprise when I saw it uploaded :) There was another 3D indy game released on PC in 1999 which had the exact same gameplay as the tomb raider from the ps1 era. Emperor's tomb was made by the collective who made the star wars episode 3 revenge of the sith official game. And btw, there is the tragedy that their next indy game was cancelled : It would have been the 3 indy movies into one game (like the lego trilogy) but with the emperor's tomb gameplay improved :( Speaking of gameplay, I don't know if you missed that but you could do a lot of combos with only these 2 attack buttons (grapping, counters, etc ...) which is more advanced than it looked like (you could see some of them in the manual) and the ennemies are way more responding, quick and effective with the combats in hard mode. Also, I know I probably suggest these licenced games a long time ago into another video but I'm not 100% sure and these are the ones I'm the most looking forward and excited to see a "Camp xbox" review about ;) - Enter the matrix (2003) : an ambitious game that is more than just a tie-in but an integral cross-media part of the matrix lore that matters. It takes places after the animatrix and before and during the events of matrix 2 reloaded with secondary characters which they filmed scenes with the real actors just for the game (the 2 playable characters have differents levels sometimes) - The matrix path of neo (2005) : Where you play as Neo during the 3 matrix movies with an impressive amounts of movements for a 6th gen of consoles and ragdoll physics (bit of advice : try to learn the combos, there are a lot ^^) - star wars battlefront 1 & 2 - the lord of the rings the two towers and the return of the king (which have a smilar gameplay than star wars revenge of the sith from the collective) And if you want 2 others games with the same hack'n slash gameplay than these lord of the rings games you can have : "King Arthur" from 2004 (the tie-in movie game) and "forgotten realms : Demon stone" Sorry for the long expositions and can't wait for your next reviews, I really apreciate them :)

My thoughts exactly
I was really excited for Circle of Life until they showed gameplay and I saw it was first person. Now I don’t even care about Circle anymore.
