@@Anonymous-e2p very, I do it all the time, wake up at 4-5 am, going on a 3-5 mile run, and in the afternoon hit up the gym for another hour or two, I’ve been doing this for 3 years and have lost over 70lbs and got back to my “20s weight” in my early 20s… while I’m about to hit my 40s
Last week I ran 3 min and could barely breathe even after taking two hits of my inhaler. Listening to Goggins talk motivated me to learn how to breathe properly while running with asthma (I used to smoke for 14 years so my lung capacity is also bad). My goal was to run 1km even if I had to walk some of it. I ran straight through. Hit 1 km and kept going. Ended up going over a mile and only stopped to pick up my cat from the vet. Didn't even need my inhaler. I could f********* breathe. I've never been able to run more than a half mile without almost having an asthma attack. I signed up for a 7 km night rucking race in August because I know my body is capable of way more than I anticipated. By the end of this month I will be able able to go at least 2 miles straight. Shooting for 3. STAY HARD
This was very inspiring to hear. I’m a recent Goggins fan and I went running this morning and felt my asthma kick in and wanted to stop. I ended up walking fast rather than jogging the rest, but I’ve got some motivation to go even further
Started listening to goggins about 7-8 months ago. Had never ran more than 4 miles in my life. Last weekend I ran my first marathon. It's amazing what you can do when you stop putting limits on your potential. Stay hard!
Thats the idea Saying fuck me implies that hes thanking goggins for making him look at things differently amd going hard was painful but at the end he understood he was being soft, nobody is going to save you 🤣🤣🤣 you people always find a way to complain
Loved this sir!! I'm 59 and have kept this attitude my whole life. I've never once regretted it, and it's never once let me down. Still have the same body I had in HS and College, still doing all the athletic stuff I did then, just as hard. Still getting after it. Never give up. Never give in.
Me too bro every morning when I wake up for work at 4.30am it’s this is what we do now I then tie steel for 10 hours then proceed to work out at the gym every time I think about not doing it I hear those words this is what we do now and don’t let the inner bitch win ‘thank you Goggins’
When I first started I told myself I’d swim once a week to justify having a membership... That same week I found Goggins content and it was about having a to do list. On my list it says: go swim. So that’s what I do now, every time I get the opportunity. I calculated to & from + swim time + washing the salt out of my hair = 2 hours 50 min), if I have that much time I get into the car and go. I average 5-6 days a week and the results are addictive. The alone time is very nice too.
"You can't grow in a comfortable environment" in Goggins voice. I hear this everyday in my head as I wake up to go to work and as I come home from work to do my workout. Especially when I don't have the motivation to do good on that day.
Yea brother, I've been there! Thanks to Goggins I've run in 110°, I've run in hurricanes, I've run on ice, you name it. Ok guys, reading your comments this morning convinced me to give this audiobook a try, and now I’m nearly two hours in and it truly is amazing. Much richer than the paper version, because it includes awesome commentary and interviews as you work your way through the chapters. SUPER inspiring. Surprised myself by ordering it, because I never expected to read this book, but I couldn’t be happier that I did. I’m ready to get hard!
Genuinely interested, I see you have a pfp and I’m assuming you’re a woman. How do you take the hard language from Goggins? From what I know mostly guys are the ones motivated by harsh words and reality. Genuinely want to know
@@Alex-ns6hj you assume correctly! I am a woman. Umm, that’s a good question. I think I’ve trained myself, over the years, to listen to the meaning behind harsh words and to recognize that the speaker has a genuinely caring intention when they take the time to point out where I’m going wrong. I used to have a knee-jerk reaction, where I would take things personally and get defensive, but eventually I started to seek out the wisdom behind the words. The fact is that, left to my own devices, I *do* often need a kick in the butt; I *can* be soft, and usually I can’t see the ways I’m off-base until someone proverbially slaps me upside the head and wakes me up. At this stage, I intentionally choose to work with bosses who don’t mince their words and aren’t afraid to offend me, because now I find that style to be a lot more honest, less frustrating, more productive, and easier to learn from than people who are trying to tiptoe around everyone’s feelings all the time. It was a hard road to get here, though - I’m naturally very sensitive and I care way too much what people think of me. Listening to Patrice O’Neal’s standup comedy was a good way to jump into the deep end of the pool and learn how to face harsh truths. Anyhow. Thanks for asking and for reading through my ramble! I’d love to know any thoughts you have on the subject, too.
Bro this is ssoooo true, the book made me jump out of bed, put down my bowl of cereal, put my running clothes on (last used like a year ago lol), and run 3 miles. I'm going to read it, or at least part of it, every single day to keep myself motivated and continue on to achieve my goals ❤
lol maybe I should write a book about my days playing 24 games of touch footy and soccer each week and getting up and doing over 600 leg weights reps each day plus upper body weights including 200 reps of 40kg bicep curls 3 hours before sleep... plus the odd 20 km sprint on the weekend to see my chick.. Goggins maybe have heard about me and realized that if I can do that in my 20- 30's for fun whilst getting an HD at UNI maybe he should step it up a bit..???? I hear he is still... trying..
