Don't know if it helps Trevor, but my Dad went on to live another 26 happy productive years after he had a triple heart bypass... so you may well get to take your Dad for that ride in a Tesla many more times than you're imagining! I know how you're feeling though - it's a shock and a stressful time for you and your family and my heart goes out to you. If somehow things do take a turn for the worse, don't stress about taking a break - family always comes first and I know we'll all understand you needing time out. Also, I just want to thank you for all the time and effort you put into this channel and the M3OC. You're a font of M3 knowledge and a great ambassador for the EV movement. I'm loving the stuff you're doing both through the channel and your website. I only wish I lived in Canada and not New Zealand so I could come and join some of the events you guys put together. Jeremy Harris My grandfather died a few weeks ago. He had a triple bypass as well... Lived a little less than 50 years with those health issues. But still... Alive and smiling at the time.
Dude I’m so sorry to hear, I completely understand if you need to take a break for any reason whatsoever. My dad’s a PA in the cardiology sector of a hospital, and even though they do a lot of the more experimental treatments, a ton of their bypasses go smoothly!

I'm a little late watching this video but if it's any comfort, my dad had the same surgery 10 years ago and celebrated his 88th birthday this past weekend and is doing great. I'm sure your dad will do fine, too. I really enjoyed the video in which you featured your father. Please pass along best wishes for a speedy recovery. He'll feel so much better and have loads of energy soon.

Hey Trevor, Glad to hear your father is doing well. It's tough when our folks get up in years and things like this happen. I have recently been through the same thing with my father. A few years back (about 8 years ago) he had bypasses and, last year he also needed a valve replacement. Just don't let that sort of stuff get you down, the doctors are better at all that heart stuff now than ever before. The valve was replaced with a non-invasive technique (no open heart surgery). Anyway my dad is 86 now, on his 80th birthday he got a Harley Davidson motor cycle, rides it all the time. He had a 1948 Harley when he started dating my mom and my grandmother wouldn't let my mom go out with him because that was his only transportation. My mom told him he could get a motor cycle when the kids had all grown up. LOL, I was 57 when he got his cycle! (He definitely held up his end of the bargain) He is still going strong. By the way we are just about neighbors I think, I live in the Buffalo area of NY, town of Lockport to be more precises. I used to work in Burlington, ON. I want to get up to see you one of these days (maybe attend one of your meetings). I drive a Chevy Volt but I will probably get a Tesla for my next car. I never miss a Model 3 Owners Club video so keep up the good work! And good luck to you and your father. We have to keep in mind, these are times we need to cherish with our parents, it is at the for-front of my mind all the time.

My dad had a heart attack about five weeks ago. He was picked up by an ambulance, instantly got two stents at the hospital where he stayed more than a week and then went three weeks into cardiac rehabilitation. He's still a bit weak but getting better every day. He's already driving his car again (short distances). I sure hope your dad will do fine, too. It may require some changes in life style for your dad including some type of sports and diet but I'm sure they are telling him everything about that, anyway. When it comes to savings they will all apply to the Model 3, too. It will mean more options. Can't you extend your current lease for a couple of months or lease something else for a couple of months (or temporarily get another car for your wife in spring/summer 2018)? I also followed the inception of the roadster, Model S/X. In fact I test drove a Model S in the summer of 2013. However, I realized it simply is too big for my drive way entrance, my garage and it is hard to find a parking place in the city for it. That coupled with the high entry price means it's a great car but it's not for me. The Model 3 however is just less big enough to allow entrance into my drive way, will fit in my garage and allow for parking in the city. All that just so. The price also hurts less. I would not have minded the same car about 20 cm shorter to be honest but it's close enough to take it. I understand you got more space in Canada the we got in Germany. If you all you ever wanted was a Model S/X and only settled for the Model 3 because of the price this might be your chance to get just that but remember: it means far fewer options at the same budget. I'm planning on gettting quite a number of options since I want to drive that car for a long time (10 years). My Model 3 may be the last car I own since after this one just ordering a self-driving car online for transportation might be common place.

That's the best medicine. Re: buying a Model S, I did that a couple of years ago while waiting for an X. I bought a demo with 4400 miles on it. Got a discount, a new car warranty and the federal tax credit. The car was perfect for the 15 months that I owned it, just like new. Had no trouble selling it. Bought the X and got another tax credit. Net cost was a little over $5,000 for 15 months for the S.

For your "End of lease" situation, if you want to lease for the short term between your lease end and the delivery of your model 3 you can always check leasebusters, you could take someone elses lease with few months left.
I am in the similar car situation. When we moved back from England I purchased a ned TDi Golf. Than came diesel gate. I have both something until my M3 would come. It is still almost a year to get my M3. I have purchased an CPO MS60 and hopefully get the delivery next week. It will work for our needs 99 % of the time.
Seeing this a bit late so I won't say best wishes for your dad's surgery because I already know it went well. Nevertheless, best recovery and greetings for him. My brother had a surgery like that a few years ago so I was not afraid for your dad I know it's routine. It really is. Take care of him and you see, after all you'll make that Tesla test drive together!

It is still almost a year to get my M3. I have purchased an CPO MS60 and hopefully get the delivery next week. It will work for our needs 99 % of the time.

Seeing this a bit late so I won't say best wishes for your dad's surgery because I already know it went well. Nevertheless, best recovery and greetings for him. My brother had a surgery like that a few years ago so I was not afraid for your dad I know it's routine. It really is. Take care of him and you see, after all you'll make that Tesla test drive together!

Here in Norway we don't pay the 25% sales tax on EVs. That has really helped with sales. Let's hope your province does the same thing :-D

Don't forget that you can probably extend your lease. My Corolla lease is done in December but they do a 3 month extension without any hassle.
