Olivier, I'm a jeweler myself. A big fan of your creativity. Stunning, very bold products, confidently honed movements, this is possible only with a lot of experience in work. With respect!
It almost funny to me how your simple scrap projects are near masterpieces. Of course your bigger projects are totally mind blowing - so in that context it makes a lot of sense. Your channel is awesome - keep up the great work! 👍
Bon travail. Merci d'avoir partagé ton cadeau.
Liked the presentation. Much of this very clever wood working I think that I've seen before on PBS? The fellow used a band saw to cut away most of the waste to get to the part where he used a lathe. He even had a similar holding mechanism with small wheels. If memory is serving well enough, that PBS fellow made a tall, wide bowl.
Le résultat est vraiment sympa! J'aime bien ces vidéos où on se demande ce qui va sortir de tout ça, parce qu'au début quand c'est juste collé, ça ne ressemble pas à grand-chose, et à la fin, miracle, un vase.
It seems so simple in each element, but comes together so well. Excellent work as always. All of the lines on the layered side look so cool! And so much better with the contrasted raw log side.
Always happy to see a new project. The way it came out, you could put it in any number of places and with just the right angle would create an awesome compliment to the surroundings.
Olivier, tu touches et ça se transforme en œuvre d’art en or. Tu pourrais tourner du chewing-gum et “abracadabra” voilà Olivier une autre de tes œuvres.
A real beauty - and again I didn't see the pattern coming! I thought well, some scrap wood and he's using half of a little log, too. But of course, it's Olivier and of course, there is a pattern showing up. Felicitations!
hello friends, greetings healthy and always successful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and always faithfully watching your latest stuff. greetings from us, mas Jabrik DIY❤
Very cool. I did not predict that pattern on the lumber side. Gloves and lathes scare the crap out of me, but I suppose that's a decision each must make on their own.
Your methods and technics on this project to produce the beautiful vessel is sound. I don't want to sound like a hater or a nervous Nellie (sorry to the Nellie's out there), but you are teaching a new young generation of craftsmen/apprentices that it is ok to wear gloves while turning on a lathe. Nothing could be more dangerous. I have heard other craftsmen explain how there years of experience have taught them to be a little more daring around band saws, table saws, milling machines ect... And I can buy some of that. But two machines you don't mess around with are lathes and drill presses. These machines will pull your whole body into the equipment. This rule still applies and I pulled it off the internet: Do not wear gloves, rings, watches or loose clothing. Tie back and confine long hair. Do not lean on machine. There are technics to deal with hot chips. Learn them from a journeyman. Be safe all. Cheers.
I love watching woodturning videos like this, so relaxing. and honestly, the one thing that stands out to me about yours, other than your amazing work, is that you use gloves! I don't know how others can stand not to use them. It seems so dangerous to me! Keep on being safe and making beautiful things!
Beautiful, please make use of your leftovers more often. As a 'greenie' I'm so happy to see you do this. Thank-you.
An absolutly crazy and sensationel idea: hybrid woodturning!!!
Just crazy!!!
And it makes me speechless!!!
Hell 'n damnation!!!
Brilliant....
How it’s made - in today’s episode how a traditional vase design is fused with the modern using only scraps.
Just brilliant. Chapeau! Bravo!
One of my favorite things is to watch scrap wood turning. You never know what you will see. Beautiful vase! Thank you for sharing your work. 🙃
I love the scrap projects. I enjoy the “let’s see what happens” element to them.
I agree. The solid side was pretty easy to see but the layered side was a great surprise.

You know Olivier you never cease to amaze me with your beautiful creativity. Well done 👏
Great piece. Glad there is someone willing to turn wood instead of endless epoxy waste.

Wowww....amazing
Excellent!
Very beautiful.
Beautiful shape. It might be a traditional shape but in your hands it's perfect. And I love the bi-polar aspect!
Amazing.
That is simply amazing; beautiful work!
I have to ask: what is that contraption you slide onto the lathe at 2:46? That looks pretty neat and complex.
That is a steady rest. It is used to stabilize long pieces with narrow bases.
Братуха, ты очень крут! Развивайся дальше.
