    Gorgeous bike - love the channel by the way. Just bought a 2016 and wouldn't mind upgrading the tank too. Your mods are just about exactly what I'm intending to do, keep making the videos, they're very much appreciated!

      +Chris Shiels Thanks a lot, it helps spur me on to know they're of some use! It's getting close now to how I want it to be, just a few mods left. Tank is the best thing I've done though, makes such a difference to looks and practicality. RD

      Love that tank, my problem is every part I replace has to be homologated for the Swiss market, which is hugely restrictive. The tank you have looks incredible though, it definitely adds to the low and mean look rather than simply exchanging for a larger Sportster tank.

      Chris if you use the tank of the 883, I believe it is the same shape and capacity as the custom chrome tank and being HD I'm sure it would be already homologated for the Swiss market?

    I wish I had seen this before buying the progressive. They aren't any better then the stock. I'm now looking at 12" Legends.

    nice bike, love that seat!! I have a 2014 forty eight, and I would like to put on some´s 11.5" the stock suspension sucks, and want to keep the slam look of the bike what can you tell me about those progressive shocks? do youmind tell me whats your high and weigth, and to they bottom out if you ride wiht passenger? thank you for advance

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  5 лет назад +1

      I'm 6ft and around 11.5 stone, ride quality is ok, not much better the stock but you get the slammed look. I Occationally bottom out on a bad pothole, but it's not too bad otherwise. In my opinion it's mostly about the look with them rather than better performance unless you get the longer springs. good luck!

    I'm planning on buying one this week but all this noise about the pegs scraping around every corner has me a bit worried tbh, roads where I am have tons of potholes and I'm trying to imagine what would happen if I caught a peg on a pothole :/

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  7 лет назад

      +Big Gee Wouldn't worry about pot holes, we have loads here and the only issue with them is suspension being hard! The pegs only become a problem if you're cornering hard, which you'll have with most Harley's/cruisers. 48 is a great bike! Good luck

    Awesome mods, I love the sound of the lowdown, is the ground clearance really that bad?

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  7 лет назад

      it's fine on general riding, even at speed through back roads - I just have to take it real easy on roundabouts. I've got a technique now of sticking my boot heel down as a feeler which works well. It's not a problem, but it is lower than stock so something to be aware of.

      hi man....how many miles are you getting on a full tank of fuel?

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  7 лет назад +1

      hey teddd10, light comes on after around 120 miles which is when I refuel. RD

    • @teddd10
      @teddd10 7 лет назад

      so basically more than double huh..the notorious fuel light comes on at just over 50m with my self.
      is it the nightstar tank or an 883 iron tank you have?

    Will that front headlight grill fit on the 2017 48? Has the headlight changed in anyway? Thanks

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  7 лет назад

      +Brian Barrett as far as I'm aware they are the same size, it was just a grill and ring so nothing else happened to it, just stock housing and light. Although I've now fitted an LED daymaker and RSD bezel in the video below. RD

    A flush petrol cap in black will just finish your tank

    Buying 48, can't decide which year model though. Does it matter?

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  7 лет назад

      Daniel Ney YES! Biggest change was from 2016; spoked wheels replaced with alloy (Personally the spokes wheels are a must) but did have a better stock seat and suspension, slightly longer wheel base too. Earlier models don't have the keyless start and a few other mod cons. Hope this helps, it's a great bike! RD

    Hi bro ! Which exhaust did you choose in the fp3 list ? Did you auto tune it ? Thanks

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  7 лет назад

      Bud Spencer - hey, I started with the V&H short shorts but it ran too rough, in the end ran an autotune re-uploading the map every 60-100 miles. after about 3 uploads it was running smooth with some backfiring which I liked. autotune is the way to go with this I think. hope this helps, good luck! Sam

    Love the bike.. Where did u buy the tank from? What's the name?

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  7 лет назад +1

      Jai Parmar Thanks Jai, tank is a 3.3 gallon custom chrome tank which I bought from Harley Custom www.harleycustom.co.uk/product/custom-chrome-efi-3-3-gallon-oem-style-tank-custom-cap-for-2007-2016-sportster-motorcycles-629441 but as I said in the video budget for a lot of prepping cost, the metalwork needed filling and sanding before painting

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  7 лет назад

      Jai, one more thing I wish I knew before buying this tank, the cap is a custom size. it comes with a nice aluminium cap but as its a unique size you can't change it. it's also a very small opening, which is a bit awkward to refuel. Still love it though! Hope this helps

      dude thanks a ton. As a fellow 48 owner, I have got new shocks front and rear, new seat, hollywood handle bar and now searching for a tank.. Thanks a ton again for the advice. Appreciate it a lot. Cheers

    You should've bought some sandpaper and black paint, it would've saved you a lot of money.

      Edward Armstrong l just wanted it to have that professional look, but for a straight black tank it was a heavy price to pay...next time I'll give it a go
