    Totally agree on these points. On a Sports bike it is all about how fast you can get there, how well you can take the corner; on a Sportster its about the whole ride experience. Also, you might keep your license for longer.

    I thought one of the first point you'd have mentionned is the braking accuracy and distance.The others I have on top of my head are the agility and weight of the bikes. All your points were interesting, thanks for the vid.

    • @ridingdigital

      You're dead right on the brakes being less effective and the bike being less agile. I'd say it's all part of that less precise and refined feeling. Thanks for the points!

    I totally agree with you on all 5 points but you hit the nail on the head with the wind. Great video. Hope to see some updates soon.

    Hi, another point for you :-) being a short A--- I needed a bike that I could put my feet down and the super low does that. point 2 it does not give you bum ache on a long trip lol which I found on my Suzuki, traveling to the Shetland was a real bum ache. With my Super Low I can go for miles. I haven't got a small tank so I'm not always filling up which with the smaller tank you can get roughly 50 ish miles and yes you can make it your own which I love very much :-) yep Silverstone was good. like your vlogs :-) keep going.

      Great point on the ride height, good for shorter people but still fine if you're tall. I've swapped out the 2.1g to a 3.3g tank which helps, I get around 100 miles to a tank which is a little more reasonable, can be a bit of a nightmare otherwise!

    I moved from SV650 to 48. I would say 48 feels like a WWII propeller airplane. But I love the sound and the raw power.

    I hope to get a 2020 BMW S1000RR M pack as my first sports bike. All my current bikes are - well lets see - 1, 2017 Triumph T120, 2, 2016 Triumph Thruxton R, 3, 2015 Ducati Monster 821 and a 2005 Kawasaki ZXR 1200R. I was a police biker for years too so never had a sports bike. Interesting to hear your views.

    I am late in responding but I, similarly, moved from a Ninja to a Harley and never looked back. The biggest difference for me is the attention the Harley attracts compared to the sports bike which looks like every other bike of its kind. Best

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  5 лет назад

      Yep absolutely, same here. It's the character of a Harley!

    Totally agree with the 1st time ride on a Harley, mine was Fatbob! Loved it. So as a long-term user do you still get the same enjoyment on each ride? Or do you miss the speed of a sportsbike? Me wanting a Harley is to get away from out and out speed.

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  6 лет назад +1

      I went from a ZX7R and ZX6R to the Sportster and just found the speed and cornering weren't doing it for me anymore. I'd love to get a sportsbike as a 2nd (or 3rd 🤞) like a Ducati 1098 but would probably go for a classic and run a cafe racer project first. If it's a choice with just 1 bike, I'd keep the Harley, it's got soul 🤘

    Hi buddy, love a chat some time as I've just recently got a hd48 from having a ducati 848. Love the bike but my god this this kills my frickin ass.. just wondered what seat you have, I have the le pera bare bones seat, looks great but was wondering if this was one of the things to blame. Going to get the suspension setup to my weight etc.. any tips would be much appreciated 👍🏻

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  3 года назад +1

      Hey bud. The Le Pera barebones will do that, it's a pretty extreme seat. I've got a MotherRoad Custom Bobber Bates leather seat. It's comfortable, I can ride for an hour before needing a stretch. I went with progressive shocks, not a fan, they're very hard but look good. The problem is everyone wants the slammed look, but the compromise is a rock hard ride. I'd say weigh up what your priorities are looks vs comfort and go from there 👍🏻

    • @MrSith79
      @MrSith79 3 года назад

      @@ridingdigital cheers buddy, I have the progressive shocks too but need them setting up correctly as I'm sure there bottoming out and too soft from previous owner. Will look into that seat, cheers 👍🏻

    Hi what’s the tank range, did you change from stock on the 48?

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  6 лет назад

      Standard tank is 2.1 gallons so range is around 75 miles, I've swapped out to a 3.3 gallon tank still in the peanut shape and get around 115 miles. On the plus side you'll become best friends with your local petrol station attendant 👊

  • @JustaboutMotorbikes
    @JustaboutMotorbikes 6 лет назад

    Is there only the two options on fuel tank size 2.1 and 3.3 litres?

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  6 лет назад +1

      the standard fuel tank on the 48 is the 2.1, I swapped it for an aftermarket 3.3 but I've seen some people go as high as 5, but you loose the peanut shape

    • @JustaboutMotorbikes
      @JustaboutMotorbikes 6 лет назад

      Riding Digital thanks for the reply never expect it on RUclips lol, riding a Cbr650f at the moment but can’t see me moving up to a bigger full on sport bike and thought this would be a better option for me. But the 75ish mile fuel range would drive me nuts lol👍👍👍

    • @ridingdigital
      @ridingdigital  6 лет назад

      no worries mate, glad to help. If you go with the sportster iron instead of the 48 (iron 883 or 1200) they come with a 3.3 as standard so could be a better option for you? they are great fun bikes. If you're thinking of getting one and have any queries ping a comment anytime 👍🏻

    Dunno how Harley are still in business. Everything about all their bikes screams, crude, badly designed, low quality, bad handling and expensive.
