These guys are just 'magic" and quite refreshing to hear....they are extremely talented and are among the best brass ensamble I have heard in quite a while....keep it up guys.
Bammy, I disagree with the other two fellas here, I don't think just anyone could tongue and play like this. I'm glad someone posted this song on here, just great!
What timmyboy said. The song is easy if you master double tongueing. I was playing the first trumpet part to this song at the age of 16 with little to no problems.
This so cool. I knew Vicki years ago and she is an awesome trumpet player. I remember her winning with a group from highschool an award with honors in a brass quintet and they played Canadaina Brasses version of the canon... Newt
1st time I heard this I was playing bass in a USAF jazz band-the Downbeats-at the Toips In Blue contest in Wash. DC. I loved it then, and your version is great now.
I know Vicki from highschool when was just starting to learn trumpet. My wife and I would meet Vicki at Hamilton Place when CB did their Christmas Concerts there. Very Pround of this recording!!! Yeah Vicki!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@QddpprrQ: I think you've mistaken the sound made by the excellent tubist - Charles Daellenbach. He's playing way above the normal range of a tuba, that'll why it sounds like a baritone...
Mr. Clark, You obviously didn't see the post that I was ridiculing when I wrote what I did...Pure sarcasm over some semi-literate writing and was not intended in any way to diminish the young lady playing the trumpet. I think she's exceptional. Since I play the saxophone and clarinet it would be difficult, if not impossible to join in and play with this group...After all, Leroy Anderson DID write this specifically for the trumpet in 1954.
I haven't picked up a trumpet in 20 years, so I doubt I can still double-tongue, but I loved playing this one in high school. You're right, kamakamameleon, this is not the Canadian Brass at their best. Normally, they rock (in a brass-ensemble kinda way), but while this is good, it's not their usual quality.
to circular breath, puff ur cheeks with air then push the air from ur cheeks into your horn while breathing in with your nose. it takes a while to do it tho. My teacher told me to practice it by blowing bubbles in a cup of water (with a straw) Eventually i got it just keep practicing
@SpeedyNeutrino43 you need to chill those guys have been playin for years and shes only in high school and she had to of been nervous. for bein so young shes good. id like to see you get up there with them and play it.
I find double tonguing to come in useful. I know people older than me who just can't get it and some who get it easily. I was lucky to catch on quickly. Although I do have a question...any one can give me pointers on circular breathing? when i was in school, my douchebag of a teacher told me that double/triple tonguing and circular breathing werent worth teaching. Any pointers?
Multiple tonguing is a basic skill for brass players at even a semi-professional level. Bugler's Holiday is at about the difficulty level appropriate for a decent high school band. A typical undergraduate trumpet student in conservatory would be able to sightread through it without much difficulty.
"A bit slow and Victoria Hall 'DON'T' play good....ROFL LMAO.....if she can keep up with these guys she'd pretty damn good....LOL Oh...add some remedial English to your music studies...LOL
Wow, Sarcasm and bad grammar, how can I top that. Don't worry, if you like I can teach you how to double tongue on your kazoo. Oh wait, you CAN hum, can't you?
......i would like to see the actual video

fun,fun,fun.... one of the best things about Christmas music
Mr. Anderson would be VERY proud of this performance! Excellent!!

Superb performance. Splendid harmonies.

Hey Dune Warrior, I have not heard from her or about her in quite awhile. She probably is still playing somewhere

I'm playing this as a trio at my school :D it's amazing

He's talking a bout a young Trumpet female Player name victorea Hall performing a happy song called Buglers Holiday
thats some true technicality right here!!!!
Even Gabriel can't beat this.
Um, yes it does actually. Look up the definition for song on Google.
"A brief composition written or adapted for singing."
super!!!!!!!!!!!
Horn lines crazy.

@QddpprrQ What Baritone player? two trumpets, one French Horn (who tends to 'Blatt" now and then...) Trombone, and Tuba...
cuz there is a guest player and it migh be diffucult for her
@fugueboy45 look up Tine Thing Helseth and her trumpet concertos, you will bite your tongue.
Ok, but check out the uscg band version.
@feb29229
why are they number one hundred-bajillion-fadrillion and one? i think they are number one.

It doesn't need lyrics to be considered a song.
@QddpprrQ no baritone player...
@fugueboy45 Your sir, haven't looked hard enough.

You would have to be insane with your tongueing to play this. If you could play this, consider a career choice of speed-talker.

5 people are deaf.
@fugueboy45 This is the most ignorant comment I've ever seen.
too good? no such thing!

Wow twelve years ago
Needs a faster tempo. Good otherwise.
