- Luthier and Instructor, Robert O'Brien visits Gernot Wagner, the inventor of the composite double top, at his shop in Frankfurt, Germany. In this online course available at the Lutherie Academy, Gernot talks about how he got into lutherie, the history of the double top, the advantages and acoustics involved, the materials and tools used in its construction, as well as gives a demonstration on how to make a double top. This is not a step by step how to course. However, there is enough information given that one can make a double top following Gernot's explanation.

Thank you very much for placing my interpretation of Bach's Prelude BWV 1012 in this fantastic video about the extraordinary German luthier Gernot Wagner. I am very proud to have played and recorded my CD Bach Cello Suites Vol. 2 on the magnificent guitar that Gernot Wagner built in 2004.
